I used to think that everyone had the same last name. I have no clue why:)

When I was little, I thought since my birthday is so close to Christmas that people put out Christmas lights to celebrate my birthday. ;))

Aw that's cute Melian_Maia! :) Hope you weren't awfully disappointed.

Um, I know I thought funny things as a little girl. Hmm...if I think of any I'll post them!

when I was little we sang this song at church that goes like this- Better is one day in your court, better is one day in your house, better is one day in your court than thousands elsewhere. Well i thought the elsewhere was
" tusk ware" . I knew that people would kill elephants for there tusks, so I thought that it meant it was better than something expensive. But the tusks are called Ivory. I only just figured out what it really was like 2 months ago! :)

I also thought the ducks with the red stuff on there bills were because they had eaten pizza! I always called them pizza ducks! :D I was a little crazy! 8-}

I always used to wonder how the poeple in movies knew how to dance exactly the same moves. It never occured to me that they were acting and that their dances were choreographed haha ;))

Another one of mine would have to be growth spurts! I used to freak out over hiccups and my mom would always tell me that I'm having a growth spurt. I believed her so when I was about 17 or 18 when i hiccupped I was with a lot of family and said 'I must still be growing" and they were confused and as I explianed my family laughed and I was mad at my mom for a couple of days.

I had the same thing, and I also thought that movies were filmed in one shot: The actors read the script and then played it. I was awed at how they could do it all in one shot

THIS THREAD IS MAKING ME LAUGH OUT LOUD!!!! =)) =)) =)) =)) These are great! The ones about "Shlow" (Chloe ;) ) and Pontius Pilate really cracked me up. :)

I remembered another one of my misconceptions from when I was little. We had a picture book that my parents would read to us; it was Psalm 23 in the King James Version. I obviously didn't understand old English grammar, because when I would try to quote it, I would say, "He leadeth me beside the stilleth waters."
:)

I was homeschooled all the way through school, and when I started school, we used some readers published by an Amish publishing company, so the stories were about the Amish way of life. However, I (having become a Little House addict as soon as I could read) thought the stories were about people on the prairie in the 1800's.
I would also write prairie stories which included school buses, going away to camp for the week, caves filled with gold out in the middle of the prairie, and things like that. :)

"Lucy, have you seen this ship before?"
"Yes! It's very Narnian-looking, isn't it?"

I thought that actors read and memorized the entire script before they did a movie- it never occurred to me that they did separate scenes and put them together :p

When I was younger, for some reason, whenever I was reading a book and it says that one character "snaps" at another (EX: "You idiot!" she snapped), I always pictured the character snapping their fingers as they said it. I did this clear into Jr. High school. :p

I also tend to mispronounce words when I was younger and really cracked up my family with words like "Duct Tape' I pronounced it "Duck Tape".

I did the same thing, but we were actually mispronouncing it because both Duck Tape and Duct Tape are correct. It was originally called Duck Tape because it’s very water resistant, but it’s also called Duct Tape since it’s often used on air ducts.
I see I’m not the only one who thought the D in Disney was a backwards G. I used to wonder why he wrote his name like that until one day I finally saw it was actually a D just with a loop.
I had always heard you’re not supposed to “drink and drive” as a kid so one day I thought my mom was breaking the law because she was drinking a diet coke while driving the car.
