I don't know how hard it would be to braid your hair and then pin it around your head in a coronet (or whatever it's called)?
I really like that look, and I have tried it, but my hair is too thick for the pins. So annoying! I need to find some larger pins.
And this would be kind of similar to leaving it down, but how about pulling some of the front strands back and ponytailing or braiding them?
I've done that a couple times. I just don't have enough time in the morning to separate my hair out evenly. Maybe on the weekends............
I don't know...this probably isn't any help.
It's loads of help! I'll take all the advice I can get.
I used conditioner and got no cuts. I think i will keep using it.
I'm on a drill team. When we perform, we have to part our hair over the left eye and do our hair in a bun. We have these little wig pony-tails (hair on a pony tail holder) to put around our hair to help make it look nice and if we have short hair.
I have short hair (shoulder length) with some layers. My problem is some of the layers are too short to pull back into a pony tail. I don't really want to put bobby-pins all over my head so does anyone know of a super good holding gel or hairspray or things I could use to hold the layes back?
Use both gel and hair spray. It seems to work better that way. For me anyway.
I am sixteen and the only make up that i wear is a little lip gloss. I think that make-up is not very good for your face though i may be very wrong
A lot of makeup isn't good for your face, but you can get some that is mineral-based that won't harm your skin at all.
I'm your age and have medium oily skin, so I find that my face needs a break from makeup every couple of days to prevent pimples.
Besides, as much as I like the makeup look it's good to natural sometimes.
Quod Erat Demonstrandum
Does anyone know of pretty hairstyles for long hair? And by long, I mean I can sit on it long. It's also thick so it's really hard to put up. I donated fifteen inches to LocksofLove three years ago and I'm going to donate again next spring, but for now I need something to do with it other than my one braid or hanging loose in the wind.
I completely envy your hair!!!
Here's a website you might find helpful (it will just take a little maneuvering around the site to get used to it): http://www.dreamweaverbraiding.com/Braiding_Tips.htm It's got all kinds of braids (Dutch braids, French braids, lace braids, crown braids, etc.), and even some LOTR hairstyles if you've seen those movies. I absolutely love the site!
Or you could do a French-braided headband: http://www.ehow.com/how_2271728_do-fren ... dband.html
Hope this helps!
Glad I could help.
Someone once told me that if you wash your hair with a solution of vineger and water it will help get rid of the dandruff i just wanted to know if that is true

Yes, wild rose, vinegar can help with dandruff. The key is to eliminate commercial shampoos (at least for awhile) to allow your scalp to heal. Flaking scalp is typically caused by dryness (from wind, sun, lack of humidity, and ingredients like SLS or other detergents in your shampoo) , evironmental allergies, or fungal infection - or all three. There are many ways to use the vinegar, including as a rinse after you wash your hair; a hair soak (while you bathe); or a leave-in spray. There are quite a few ideas for saving your scalp here. I personally have used the rinse with good results - just take a couple tablespoons of vinegar (doesn't matter it's white or apple cider) and mix with a pint of warm water. Pour over your hair and let it soak in a minute or two before rinsing out. I have heard that you do not have to rinse out the vinegar, but I have not had the courage to try it...too strong of a smell for me!
Also, if you are interested in other ideas, I have used salt to remove the flakeys from my scalp. It's even easier than the vinegar: pour a couple of teaspoons of table salt over your scalp and scrub for one to two minutes before washing your hair. In between washings, I like to soak my hair in an Epsom salt bath to maintain the softness of both my hair and scalp. The salt inhibits bacteria and fungus, as well as provides a deep scrub, which for me has worked even better than the vinegar.
Just my two cents! HTH.

So I've noticed latly I'm getting some dark circles/bags under my eyes. I really am new to the whole idea of concealer, and have no idea what consistency/type/whatever I should look into. All I know is that when I use my ancient foundation as a sort of "concealer" for the under-eye area, it only cakes in and makes it look worse, which I don't want. Any suggestions? I'd like to try something drugstore first so I can master it before buying anything high-end.
I recently got a hair "glaze" by John Frieda (spl?). It's the one for red hair, and I am pleased by it. Even though it's a good-sized bottle I have a feeling it'll be gone soon since I use it so much. I definetly noticed more shine in my hair, and the color was much vivider, and it even felt softer. The line has one for blonde and brunette hair as well.
Oh, and I just want to reccomend these "Sephora Favorites" kits: http://www.sephora.com/browse/brand_hie ... 0Favorites
They're really good for trying out new products. I have the mascara one (well, not the current one but an older version with a few different samples). The samples are a good size--I'm still using them all several months later.
So...this thread's been quiet too long. Any new products you guys are loving? New looks you would like to try? Post away, ladies!

Just go into your local kmart/big w/target store every morning do your make up and leave lol. I think they would catch your finally. Also i am probalay to lazy to do that.
Lol, IlF. I'm not familair with those stores, but if they're anything like Wal-Marts here, they don't really love people trying on makeup in-store...however department stores/Sephora that would actually work at. I too am curious to see how long you could keep it up for, say, if you worked in the mall and just left a bit early to do your makeup at Sephora before getting to your store.

Don't get any ideas, Val.
If you have really dark circles, any type of concealer will only make it look worse. How much water are you drinking and how much sleep are you getting? That can sometimes make dark eyes worse.
