Lady Arwen,

Thanks for that info. Yes, I probably did get hoodwinded :( Actually, I should have mentioned in my post that when I bought the product off ebay I got a message saying that it had been taken off the website and if I wanted to I should see about getting my money back. At this stage I hadn't received the product so I went through the process of attempting to get my money back and then they showed up. I tried them and they seemed to be good eyeshadows - the colour stays on the whole day and so forth, so I just kept them and closed the complaint. Even if they are not Mac eyeshadows (which after reading your post, I now begin to doubt) they are still good eyeshadows and much better than what I had before - and I still only paid $40 for them which I think they are worth. However, I'll be more careful next time :) Thankyou for taking the trouble to post all that, it was very helpful and I'll take notice of it :)

Again, I should have mentioned all that in my post above but to tell you the truth it had slipped my mind as it was a while ago now.

viridian_hues welcome to the site!! Thanks to you and Lady Lilliandil for your advice, I will definitely be going that way from now on!

I was asking because I bought some crazy teal eye shadow and I'm not sure how to wear it with out making me look like a clown. :p

You could always wear it as eyeliner? Lately instead of covering my eye in eyeshadow, i've been using it as eyeliner. It gives me some color but doesnt make me look overwhelmed in makeup. I just dip my angled brush in water and then dip it in my eyeshadow and it works as eyeliner for the whole day. This way I don't have to buy different eyeliner colors.

I don't know if any of you are close to a Sephora, or interested in ordering through their site, but I thought I'd post some of my very favorite items from there :D

http://www.sephora.com/browse/product.j ... goryId=B70
Cream eyeshadow ^^ These are just a little bit sparkly, and the color is SO VIVID. It also stays on REALLY well. I have it in the dark blue, greeney-teal, and pale blue.

http://www.sephora.com/browse/product.j ... goryId=B70
Mascara activator. This is an incredibly good price. I don't usually buy from the Sephora brand, but this is an exception. It can be used alone or under another mascara, and it really makes your eyelashes look stunning!

http://www.sephora.com/browse/product.j ... goryId=A47
Urban Decay is one of my favorite brands for eyeshadow. IT's not super expensive (cheaper then Mac), but the colors is very, very pigmented and stay on really well. They have a huge selection of colors, and you can get them in the single pots or pallettes with several shades.

And of course, if you use eyeshadow, you definetly need to try the Primer Potion:
http://www.sephora.com/browse/product.j ... yId=C10461
If you put it on before your eyeshadow, it's guarenteed your eyeshadow will stay in place. All day. I've gone through intense shopping sprees, 12 hour plane trips, road trips, and it's stayed on through it all without creasing or fading. :D :D SO worth it!

http://www.sephora.com/browse/brand_hie ... 0Favorites
The "Sephora favorites" section you can get sets of lip care, face care, mascara, etc for around 30-40 bucks, and it's a great way to try lots of different brands. I've found some of my favorite stuff through getting them!

OK, it's definetly been 24 hours since I last posted ;)

A Few Things:

Nails:

My nails are growing!!!!! Enough that they actually look good. Even painted. Here are the things (besides just not biting them anymore ;) ) that helped them get where they are now:

http://www.sallyhansen.com/products/nai ... acle-serum This is sooo worth the price. It really does give you actual results. I put it on morning and night, let it dry for a few minutes. I've tried a few of Sally Hansen's other nail-grow stuff and this is DEFINETLY the best. I've even had people I work with comment on how long my nails are, one girl was like "but they were sooo short just a few weeks ago!!" and ended up buying that stuff too :P

http://www.sallyhansen.com/products/nai ... uticle-oil
I also used this, almost obsessively. :P I can tell you, even when your nails are sooo short, having cuticles that are well taken care of makes a world of difference. And even with long, fully grown nails, they look way smoother and more polished when you don't have ragged cuticles.

http://www.sallyhansen.com/products/nai ... sage-cream
I use this a few times a week. It's a super moisturising balm + exfoliant for your cuticles and nails. My nails feel and look sooo soft after using!

So yeah :P I'm also now obsessed with nail polish, I can't stop buying and using new colors. ;)) My bank book probably wishes my nails were still short :P
However I consider it all an "investment" since I'm offically going to school this fall to get a degree as a Esthetician and for Electrolysis! :D I'm sooo excited! I'll definetly post about things I learn and all in here for you guys.

Sounds good Valiant_Lucy! I wish you all the best for your studies :)

Thanks for the product info and congratulations on growing your nails long - it can be a mammoth effort ;) I've been trying to grow my nails long for awhile too. I had just gotten them to a stage where they looked long and were a nice shape and pretty much all even when we started shearing....

After four weeks of drenching, marking, drafting, penning up ect ect sheep my nails were absolutely shot :( That was back in February and they are still recovering. Still I enjoy sheep work so I can't complain really :) I have a Max Factor nail polish (angel nails). I don't know but I find the ones with glitter in them get gluggy and don't seem to go on smoothly. My sister has another shade of Max Factor polish, without an glitter in it, and hers seems to work much better. Do you have any tips for applying nail polish, please?

My aunt does nails and I picked up quite a lot from her. She says that you should always go in one direction and that going from the bottom up works best (if doing your own nails).

I have acne scars on my back and during the winter it didn't really bother me, but now since it's summer I've been really self conscience about my back. But lately I've been using a paste of turmeric powder and milk on my back once a day. I've used it for about a week now and the scars are my back have lightened significantly. The turmeric does stain my back yellow, but after each time, my mom rubs lime juice on my back and the color goes away. The only bad thing is that it stings a lot. But I'm happy with the results so I can overlook the pain. So if you have acne scars on your face or back, try this paste out.

Not sure if this is the right place for it, but how do you guys feel about tattoos and piercings? I have five piercings right now, I'm gonna get another one soon. And I plan on getting a tattoo as soon as I can afford it. :p

I never bite my nails and they're always long, but I bite my cuticles so much that they're always bleeding. It's a habit I've had since middle school, probably due to boredom and stress. I'm trying to quit.

I just have my ears pierced, but I would consider getting a second one in my ear - either next to the first one, or at the top. And I'd consider getting a nose stud; NOT a nose ring, but just a little stud. :) I think they're really pretty.

*Sigh* unfortunatly during a moment of stress I bit all my nails back down! So now I'm back to growing them. Oh well, two months till school starts!

I'm actually thinking of getting gel nails, as I've heard really good things about them, and apparently you can paint them and remove nail polish without actually removing the nail. PLus I think they look really polished and professional.

I have just regular ear piercings, and a nose piercing (stud), and I don't want any more. :P I just think my face would feel cluttered...or something. ;)) I do really want a tattoo on my wrist, but I don't think I can afford it right now...

I have two piercings in each ear and a belly button piercing. I would LOVE to get my tongue pierced but I'm too much of a wimp. I thought about getting my nose pierced but the thought scares me. I heard that one hurts the most. Did it hurt a lot? Anyway, the next piercing I'm getting is cartilage.

What tattoo would you get? The one I really want is an ash tree right along my hip bone. :)

I have a couple of tattoos, I'll say the usual make sure you really want it, and think about the placement for future career options (tattoos are far more acceptable now but there are still places like the hands and neck that are a bit taboo).

And please make sure the studio is licensed and clean, and insist on seeing the artist's other work beforehand!

I used to have a lot of piercings but I got bored of them, now I just have the normal ear lobe ones left.

I bite my nails really bad, they're a mess :P I don't care though, I'm not interested in having nice nails and I actually hate the feeling of my nails touching something so having them extremely short stops this from happening ;))

There is a crack in everything, that's how the light gets in.

I just have the normal pierced ears and I have sooooo much trouble with them. I had them pierced last August for the first time and to this day they haven't healed up properly. It's terrible, there has been many a day when I've seriously thought of taking them out and being done with them, My sister had hers done a few weeks before mine and she had exactly the same problem, the holes in her ears got so stretched that she was afraid the earing would fall out and so she took hers out :( It's such a disappointment as I would LOVE to wear nice long dangly earrings but I can't - only studs. Actually, I think it might be a bit of a hereditary thing as my Mum had her ears pierced when she was young and she had to take hers out as well.

I understand, Eowyn; I had the same problem, and I really regretted doing it at first - but they finally did heal, and now I'm so glad!! :D

MD, I definetly think nose piercing wouldn't be any worse then belly button...It definetly hurt a lot more then ears, but it's very quick and I found it bearable. It's a very very sharp pain all of a sudden but it really doesn't last long.

I like the idea of a hip-bone-tattoo, except I want one that's more visable...I'd like to get "it's better to be absolutely ridiculous then absolutely boring" on my wrist, circular, like a bracelet.

Thanks for your encouragment Elanor! :) How long did yours take to heal?
*lives in hope*

On the subject of tattoos - I most definitely would not get one. Personally I don't want one but even if I did my parents would have about 15 fits if I suggested it ;)
