Cute, clipped cut, Kate! *loves alliteration* And best of all, it looks easy-to-care-for. Personally, I think you look more attractive than that model-chicky-boo. (Why do they often have to look so very grumpy? )

Lol, that's actually a still from a old movie made in the 60's, Bonnie & Clyde, starring Faye Dunaway and Warren Beatty. And the characters were running rampage over the States killing bad guys, robbing banks, and living on the run, so it's probable that's why she looks so un-cheerful

Do any of you have trouble with super dry skin in the winter? Unfortuanatly, I do. I've been slathering on creams non-stop, and drinking so much water I'm practicly living in the bathroom, but so far it hasn't done much good Plus, if you try to put foundation on and your skin isn't properly moisturized, it ends up looking cakey and flakey and downright horrid! Please tell me I'm not the only one with this problem?

I probably have it worse than you Valient_Lucy. So don't sweat it. I have ezcema, so I get dry skin year round. Taking Fish Oil everyday helps a lot. Also my doctor said that after taking a shower you should put the moisturizer on pronto when the skin is still moist (but not too wet because the the cream doesn't apply) It helps keep in the moisture. And I know how you feel about the foundation. I can't even wear foundation because my mom's afraid that it will make my skin even worse.

Ugh, that does sound miserable, sillygoose! My mom has ezcema and is always complaining about it--I hope I don't end up with it!
There are foundations that are supposed to be non-drying and highly moisturizing, but I don't know if they'd help if your skin is that dry. And I also read a suggestion to mix in some moisturizer with your foundation...but I don't know how well that works.

I second the suggestion to moisturize right after showering! That definitely helped my hands overcome the "case of the dry, cracked knuckles" I got my hair cut recently too. Would post a photo, but I don't have a new one yet of my haircut. I donated my hair to Locks of Love. It is wonderful now not having to take forever washing, drying, and brushing my hair!

I 'third' the moisturizing right after showering ... and taking fish oil and vitamin E daily. If I need it at all in the winter, I use non-scented Lubriderm on my hands and aloe on my legs and arms. I never use foundation, so don't have issues there. And Rawleigh's medicated ointment (camphor and oil of eucalyptus) in one's nostrils and on one's lips is marvelous for keeping them moist.
Very cool that you donated your locks to Locks of Love, Lucy85. I wish I had grown my hair really long at some point, just to have had that privilege.
(Thanks for the photo explanation, Val, 'though I still rather think she typifies the standard model look: haughty, aloof, pouty ... )

For dry skin, beside moisturizing after showering, I would also suggest taking Evening Primrose Oil. Beside helping de-flake, it also helps with cramps (you know what I mean).
Well, I picked up the last of the stuff from my old boss for moulage. This is the first year I'm running the moulage and make-up completely on my own. My kitchen has been rather interesting today...I have supplies everywhere including the microwave. THAT was interesting when someone else forgot I had put it in there.

And I thought I better give my nails a bit of a boost so I got some Sally Hansen "nail nutrition" stuff. The bottle says "Green tea and Oliver Growth", and I put it on every other day.
Is that like a polish or...? I just got a bottle of Sally Hansen stuff because my nails are always...flaking? The bottle I got is a Vitamin E Oil. I brush it on every night and let it sit on my nails while I read or whatever. I wipe the excess oil onto my hands before I go to sleep. As a result my hands are getting Vitamin E Oil along with my nails, hopefully they won't shrivel up because of it.
Anyway--I was just wondering if your bottle of stuff was an oil or a polish.

I lately discovered a way to do perfect nails that I thought I would share - after you've put on all the polish you want, and it is dry enough to touch it, and no longer sticky, get a Q-tip, dip it in polish remover, and gently go along the edges of your nails to get off any polish that is not supposed to be there.

I use to do my finger nails all the time but i don't anymore.
Yeah, I wore nail polish all the time in middle and high school, but not so much anymore. That is especially true now. Don't have time now that I have an 11 month old baby

Okay, so...I've found myself in somewhat of a quandary. I need blue lipstick for work! I've always used black, but it doesn't show up well on film, so the filmish people asked if perhaps we could pursue using blue. The best I've found is Fran Wilson and Manic Panic. The second one is the color I want, but way to expensive.
Anyway, a few questions--first off, what sort of blue would you, if you were in my shoes, use for someone that is either very cold/dead? and secondly, do you know of any cheap yet good quality blue lipstick?
EDIT: I'm also considering doing this in a bright blue or a white. I'm not sure which would be better. The videographers aren't quite clear on what they want, beside "not black."

For dry skin, my mom suggested rubbing Johnson's Baby Oil (the lavender one smells really good. =] ) all over yourself a few minutes before you shower: I found it very helpful. Vaseline on the lips is good, too. (and on feet.)
Johnson's Baby Oil also works really great in my hair (untangling, conditioning, dealing with frizz, giving an English school girl look .) Personally, I don't like the oily feel but it's miles and completely different than the oily-and-dirty hair feel.
So... we found this place that will let students cut your hair for free, and my sister is going to get an almost boy-cut, but it will look more girlish. Out of impulse, I told my mom I'd get mine cut, too, and the people put me on a stand-by appointment. I'm on pins and needles--this will be my first time in 8 or so years cutting my hair. I'll chop off enough to donate, but am still thinking about the style I want. Probably a shorter version of the plain long hair I have (it's nothing fancy. nothing even a style. just plain. Not that I don't like it or anything. ) with a small bang on the side. Not side-bangs or traditional bangs, just something that takes the seriousness off my face..

I got about 10 inches or so cut off about four months ago, and I love how might lighter my hair is!! Long hair is fun, but it doesn't have much body and I look much nicer in shorter hair. Right now it's maybe 4 inches past my shoulder.

Does anyone have any good quality but relatively cheap/drugstore recommendations for a summer foundation? I'm about to stop lurking for a while but I need to ask I'm going to Mexico in April and want foundation for particularly bad face days (bad hair days I can deal with) but it has to be something that isn't going to melt off in the heat because that is icky.
(Also, I'd like to mention that e.l.f. eyeshadow is amazing. It's the only eyeshadow I own that doesn't crease.)
