So this post isn't a total waste, I hardly ever wear makeup because I'm pretty hopeless at it and find it a bother anyway. ;)) I like to look as natural as possible, and haven't quite figured out how to achieve that with my cosmetics yet, so usually I don't wear anything at all. If anybody has any tips on how to apply makeup so it doesn't look like makeup, or good products for achieving a natural look, I'm all ears. :)

I second alot of this post, I love putting on makeup but I dont think I'm good at it and usually have friends do it if I'm at their house, tips please!!!

If I'm trying to look natural I usually just do brown mascara on the top lashes only. But I'm a pretty basic makeup person in general, so mascara and something on my lips is all I do anyway. Usually black mascara on top and red lips. . . but as I was saying, for natural I really just do brown mascara on the top lashes.
Perhaps someone who wears other sorts of makeup could help? I've never tried foundation or blush or whatever, so I'm no help in that.

😮 What are you doing in here, MinotaurforAslan? I do believe your gender reads male. ;))

Boys aren't banned in here, are they? I've seen Shadowlander and Warrior4Jesus post in here before.

Aslans_Jewel, that sounds familiar. My boyfriend always lets his hair grow long, and it looks so good, and then he goes and shaves it all off all at once. :-o 8-|

Anyway, I just got my hair cut, really short!

Before it was really long and I hated it.

Just a random question, does anyone else go tanning, or am I the only one? :D I usually start going tanning in February because I get so pale I can't stand it anymore.

I too like longer hair on my bro better than buzz cuts. (I mean like longer bangs and not buzzed hair, not the shaggy kind)

Lady Arwen, I do think that the q-tips are helping! Thanks again! And, MinotuarforAslan, I'm sure your tip helps too. ;))

My, my, haven't posted here for a while. ;))

Lucy of Narnia, yes, late to bed, late to rise can contribute. Personally, I found that, when my schedule changed to having to get up sometimes as early as 4:30, that I had less trouble with dark circles. Regular powder will work. Make sure your face is completely dry before applying, though. I'm currently looking more into how to better conceal them, as I've heard varying techniques, but work hasn't given me much of an opportunity to experiment in that area lately, though. :/

WinterStar, threading is a technique of hair removal that originated in the Middle East. Basically, it is like tweezing, except with a thread, so it can make lines straighter and more organized. It also can hurt more than tweezing.

Rose and Georgie and Kira--practice makes perfect. ;) However, I must say, simply getting concealer to cover acne spots is the way I think people look best. I must admit, it annoys me when I know someone is completely covered in make-up. I feel like they are hiding the wonder that they naturally are with a plastic mask. That said, there IS a place for well done make-up.

Looks nice, Dancer! I don't go tanning, partially because of how bad it is for your skin, and mainly because, even with 100SPF sunscreen, I still get a dark tan before the summer is half over. I missed it last year, though, as I was inside most of the summer. ;))

I found a link to this in my daily VitalJuice enewsletter. Basically, what they do, is they take a strange of tinsel and attach it to the base of an individual hair, and repeat the process all over your head. If I ever have money to waste, I am so getting that done, either in a dark brown or silver. Have dark brown/black hair, so either would work, I think. * want want want *

I know this doesn't have to do with makeup, but it has to do with hair... :P

I haven't gotten around to shaving for a few days, so I was thinking about growing out my beard for the first time. Do you girls have any opinions on how beards look on guys?

I prefer mustaches to beards, Mino. I think beards look kinda tacky. ;))

I think some beards look good on guys, I like the light one-two inch beards on guys where you can see it but at the same time it doesn't take up their face. I don't like mustaches at all, then again it depends.

My boyfriend has mediun length hair, a lot like Ben Barnes's hair in Stardust.

I didn't get my hair styled at all during break. I trimmed it and atleast that made it look better and my hair is still long.

Anyway, yesterday I washed my hair then blow dried it upside down, then messed it up and covered it with a ton of hairspray! This is the result:

Thanks for the tips, Lady A! Hopefully I'll become enlightened on how to do makeup "invisibly" one of these days. Haunting this thread sure helps. ;) I'm kind of a health nut anyway, so I always prefer doing things from the inside out and being mindful of what I'm eating to help keep my skin looking healthy. Oh, that reminds me—a several pages back you all were talking about the benefits of drinking green tea, and some of you were complaining about it tasting like hay. I drink a lot of the stuff, and I cheat by turning it into lemonade sweetened with a little xylitol, stevia, or honey. ;)) Makes it a million times more bearable.

*Is surprised by all the anti-beardness around here* ;)) Aw, I think beards are cool. I think they look professorly and dignified. Though I agree that they make you look older. If you do grow one, MfA (and you must post pictures if you do :P), I'd advise keeping it neat, because your haircut is a very clean cut look. Not that I'm an expert on these kinds of things. ;))

But if you grow a mustache, I hope you grow one like this one. ;)) That style really needs a comeback. It's epic. :P

MoonlightDancer, I love how your signature, "I lead a crazy life!" is under that picture like a caption. =)) That is one crazy hairstyle. Kinda cool, though. I'll have to try that with my hair sometime and scare my family. :P

I'll admit I'm not really a fan of facial hair, but the nice thing about it is that it is easy to shave. I've noticed that no one usually likes the beard but the beard-wearer: a friend of mine had a horrid goatee that everyone supported getting shaved except the actually wearer of the hair.

I need hair help. My hair is golden blond, thick, wavy-ish and extends past my shoulder blades. Recently I've just sort of given up on it. I'm tired of taking care of it. I decided to cut it short and Val gave me some great advice, but all of the non-NarniaWebber women in my life were very opposed to the hair cut, so I decided against it. Now I'm leaning back to it.

What I most need, however, is better hair health. I'm not sure what's wrong with it really, but it has lots of split ends and a sort of 'tacky' feel. I think maybe it needs more moisture. Does anyone have a good moisturising shampoo/conditioner to recommend?
