I use to do a lot of nail art but now i usually just paint them one or 2 colours.
I love neon blues and greens
Lucy P, I've got the same exact hair cut as yours. Bangs and everything though mines grown out a little bit and my hair colors like black. I tried highlighting my hair once at home..yeah the color didn't even show up lol. There goes 8 dollars down the toilet...
Also another tip for shiny hair is rubbing almond oil into it. It's very good for your scalp too. Over the winter, i've had a bout of extremely dry skin on my face, and scalp so I used almond oil and a Vitamin E oil every day. It worked like a charm. At first the almond oil was for my skin, but my hairs also gotten shinier. Its a pretty good bonus. Fish oil is really really really good for your skin too. I've been taking a fish oil pill 3 times a day for almost 3 weeks know and my skins completely clear now.
oh and i LOVE sephora. got this super cool black sparkly eye liner. usually i don't wear black eye liner because it makes me look older than I am, but the sparkles kind of cover the gap.

Lovely fringe, Lark! And you have such gorgeous eyes too.

Wow, that sounds great. I knew fish oil helped lower my father's cholesterol and is 'brain food' (which is why I remember to take it around exam time, heh) but who knew it cleared up skin from the inside! Good to know.
I've just popped in to whine about mascaras [ ] and ask for opinions on what people here use? I remember ww recommending one from L'Oreal; which to date I've never been able to find and am nearly convinced they don't stock that particular one in Australia though I'm curious to try L'Oreal or Max Factor next.
I have tried mascaras of all different shapes and sizes -ones with fat brushes, thin brushes, round brushes, comb brushes, vibrating brushes....specifically mascara from Avon (standard mascara, worked nicely but nothing too flash), Rimmel (the hot pink one & the black one with pink edging), Maybelline (telescopic curves & the neon green bottle one, also the new vibrating one -which is just average, btw and I'm glad my sister bought it first ) Revlon (can't recall which one) and a few generic brands....none of which I've been over the moon with.
So I've got my pen and notebook ready for your suggestions ...I'm looking for something that volumises, not so worried about lengthening/definition -as long as it doesn't clump I'm good -but volume & not-clumpy is hard to find.

lol lark you hair looks so much light, it looks awsome, I am getting my haircut this saturday.
SM--While I've had good results with L'Oreal, my favorite mascaras are all from Sephora, and I don't think there's any in Australia, but maybe you could order them off ebay, or something...??
Buxom Lash by Bare Escentuals-- http://sephora.com/browse/product.jhtml ... inate=true
I quite like this one. Makes my lashes long, defined, but never clumps or looks cakey.
Bad Gal by Benefit -- http://sephora.com/browse/product.jhtml ... inate=true
While this isn't super thick so I sometimes layer it with another mascara, it's AMAZING at volumizing without clumping. Seriously.
Lights, Camera, Lashes! by Tarte -- http://sephora.com/browse/product.jhtml ... inate=true
Probably my favorite mascara right now. Just really does everything I want it too--volumizing, legthening, defining, looking amazing, all without clumping! And I've had mine a really long time, so if it was going to go bad it would have done that already
CILS BOOSTER XL Super Enhancing Mascara Base by Lancome-- http://sephora.com/browse/product.jhtml ... inate=true
I put this on before my mascara. It took me a while to get used to it, and I thought it wasn't really working, but the key is to put on hardly *any*, like don't swipe it on like you would mascara, just put a *slight* dab across your lashes. Once I got the hang of it, I DEFINETLY noticed my lashes looking bigger and better when I used it.
They are all unfortunatly more expensive then drugstore stuff, but trust me, they DO work better and they are soo worth it And I know what you mean about it being hard to find a volumizing one without clumping...just before CHristmas I got two mini Dior mascaras, that promised to be "THE BEST" in volumizing...for about 4 weeks they worked perfectly, did everything I expected. Then they got all goopy and clumpy and I'm going to have to throw them out.

This is my favourite of the links you posted; although the BadGal mascara brush did look awesome, I'm just not ready to unleash my inner rebel. And it's a good sign if you've had the Tarte one for ages and it's still good. It's about the same price as drugstore mascara over here!; but with exchange rates and shipping it will be a bit more but I would really like to give it a try. *goes to look it up on eBay*
Edit: No Sephora love on eBay! Shocking, I know. [And in other news today I (having left my make up case in my dad's car) went to borrow some of Mum's make up and made an exciting discovery! A bottle of ordinary Rimmel mascara; which is not used as Mum doesn't seem into mascara but which goes on really well! Needless to say I was pleasantly surprised and will be keeping it.] Score.

I'm pretty average. I like wearing my hair down with either a swoop or bring my skinny bangs out. I dont wear much makeup although when I use foundation I appear darker in the face when my skin is naturally fair. I wear little blush, light brown eyeshadow and brown liner and mascara. I wear natural lip gloss too.
Edit: I'm plannig on getting my hair a little bit lighter for the summer and giving it some blonde highlights.

So I think a few pages back we were talking about foods that would encourage healthy skin. I'm going away in 2 weeks and trying to get uber awesome skin for that, so for the next two weeks I'm going to try and abstain from any sugary/greasy foods (french fries, pizza, pop, chips, cookies, candy, icecream)...and have at least one big bowl of blue berries and one mug of green tea a day. I've been doing it for a week already and I've actually noticed a positive difference in my skin! I do think it will help! It seems to be a bit...idk how to describe it, healthier looking? Like, glowy, but not in a icky-sweaty way. Both blueberries and green tea are amazing for skin cause of all the antioxidants...and the other day I was reading about some super expensive "miracle skin" drink that celebries used that had high extracts or something of blueberries and green tea.

^that's a good idea! One of my favorite things to eat is frozen blueberries with milk. No sugar added. It becomes sort of like sorbet, very cool and delicious . Never had green tea, I hate tea . I've been trying to have less dairy though lately b/c during the summer my skin gets very dry and red b/c of the combination of outdoor allergies and sweat and having too much dairy, so at least I can get rid of one of those things, as hard as it is .
Yum, I eat frozen blueberries all the time. I'm super excited for blueberry season though!!
You can get green tea pills, but my mom doesn't want to spend the money on them if I don't "need" them, and I don't have tons of money to throw around...so for now I take a big mug of green tea with my dinner, and I put in probably about a quarter of a cup of honey in Thankfully honey is also really, really good for your skin! Then I guzzle it all down as fast as possible while my family watches and makes fun of me.
GtG, if your skin gets really dry in the summer, are you drinking enough water? Even if it's summer and your skin can get sweaty it's still a good idea to use a bit of mosterizer sometimes, even if it's just at night.

Hmm, I hadn't thought of putting honey in green tea. I've been trying to make myself like it for ages because I know it's good for you but I just can't
I still use moisturiser in summer, it's tempting not to because you feel hot and sweaty a lot of the time but it's not really the same as having moisturized. If you do it at night before bed you don't have to worry about maybe looking a bit 'shiny'
There is a crack in everything, that's how the light gets in.
ooh green tea pills?! I'll have to look in to that .
I probably don't drink enough water. Maybe 4 glasses a day. But it also gets dry b/c I'm allergic to outdoor things and I have eczema. It just gets worse in the summer. I use moisturizer on my hands and arms but if I put it on my neck it just makes it worse, I don't know why.
