So what other books by C.S. Lewis has anyone read, besides Narnia, and which ones did you like best? I've read quite a few Mere Christianity, The Screwtape Letters, The Problem of Pain, The Four Loves, Till We Have Faces, Miracles, The Great Divorce, The Weight of Glory and other Essays, The World's Last Night and other essays, The Abolition of Man, The Space Trilogy (Out of the Silent Planet, Perelandra, and That Hideous Strength), A Grief observed, Surprised by Joy, and a book of letters to children. (A lot of them are about Narnia!) As for the ones I liked best... I'd have to say The Space Trilogy(especially Perelandra), it has great drama and the planets are beautiful; The Great Divorce, I love the character of George MacDonald; The Screwtape Letters, hilariously funny; Mere Christianity, very clear and home to my favorite poached egg passage; and The Four Loves, which is a beautiful description of love. So Which is your favorite?

Lewis has other books?
I kid, I kid.
I've read:
The Chronicles of Narnia - fantastic
The Cosmic Trilogy (also known as The Space Trilogy) - good to great
Mere Christianity - excellent
The Screwtape Letters - difficult writing style at times but very good
Till We Have Faces - hated this one, almost bored me to tears
The Great Divorce - brilliant
The Abolition of Man - great thoughts but the writing style was difficult
Surprised by Joy - for the most part very dull because I couldn't relate to the many references Lewis cited
Boxen - a valiant effort for a child but exceedingly dull
Currently watching:

It's so hard to pick a favorite of Lewis' books!
Unfortunately, we'll need to close this thread for now. We allow individual threads for authors and series, but they have to wait their turn to be opened as Special Features so that the Spare Oom isn't inundated with too many threads at once. See The Spare Oom Bylaws (number one) for more details. If you would like to request this topic as a Special Feature, please PM any of the Spare Oom moderators and they will be happy to get it on the list for you.
In the meanwhile, Lewis' other books may be discussed in the Books thread. Thanks!
