I usually don't picture people looking like their avatars, but I have a few times. I joined my first message board when I was eleven (I know--I was really young, but it was very secure and they had to call us and talk to our parents to make sure we were kids) and two of my friends had Matrix avatars. Even once I knew what they looked like, I had a hard time not picturing them both as Neo. I guess most of the time though, I picture their avatar representing them or their personality, but I always realize there's another face behind that.
Before I go to parties at houses I haven't visited, I always picture how I think the house will look. I think it's influenced by how I view my friends. If their family is more conservative, I usually picture more traditional looking furniture. I guess I get a feel for the kind of house they would enjoy living in. Strangely enough, I'm usually not very accurate at all, even with people I know well.

Hahaha, well... I suppose it's a good thing to be mistaken for Jen Ledger... It is kinda a not-so-close-up picture of her (it's actually just a screenshot from a podcast) so it could be hard to tell because i do think a few people use their actual pictures on here...
Ithilwen, actually at first I did picture you as Smeagol, but your siggy and avvies change so much that I just picture you as a hobbit now sorta like one of those little hobit children excited by the fireworks
Isn't Bear Grylls one of those guys with a survival show? or something like that? Am I right @TG?

I've always pictured Shadowlander like Dwight from the office:

Yes! He does the show 'Man vs Wild' (called 'Born Survivor' in Europe), and he's broken a few world records (youngest Brit to reach Everest summit, first to fly in a paraglider over Everest, stuff like that). He's very open about his faith, which I admire. I'm a devout fan.
I'm sorry I also thought you were a boy TheGeneral, I guess the name kind of influenced me, thanks for adding your gender!
Lol no problem, it's embarassing but I actually forget that all people see are my typed words , I shouldn't assume that people should somehow know!
Ithilwen, actually at first I did picture you as Smeagol, but your siggy and avvies change so much that I just picture you as a hobbit now sorta like one of those little hobit children excited by the fireworks
I get used to your new graphics quickly, and that is good as they change rather quickly.
Wow, I wasn't even aware my graphics changed that quickly... I wonder if I change them too quickly...
Anyone know the average time for keeping graphics?
On topic -- Oddly, I actually picture Fantasia Kitty as a kitten with rainbow fur... That's kind of strange considering I've only seen her with an Aslan avatar. So I guess I picture people looking like their usernames too. Although, I'm not sure how the rainbow fur fits in. You'd think the "Fantasia" part would make me picture a Mickey-Mouse style wizard hat instead. But I guess I equate the word Fantasia with rainbows more than I do the Disney Movie.

I actually picture you, Ithy as Gandalf. whooops.
and I picture Fantasia_Kitty as Aslan.....

^^ Gandalf? That's so funny! I wonder how that hapenned... It's kind of funny, because there are a couple people on here who call me Gandalf, I always get Gandalf as a result in all of the "Which LOTR character are you?" Quizzes, and Gandalf was the character I most identified with in the book. But I don't look like him. Actually, the LOTR character I look most like is Pippin. I have very similar features to Billy Boyd in real life, only mine is a girl version of his features, of course. So I guess my avvy isn't too far off right now.

Yay, Riella! So I can picture you like your avy now! lol
Of topic, (but you made this topic, so you can decide if it is "on" or not ) Can you put a picture of you w/ the same look on your face as your Pip avy???
Lu
*edit* BTW, I had a Georgie as Lucy waving to the mermaid from the DT in my first avy, then a horrible one of Eustace/Reep (it was grainy) and then you saved the day Riella! Oh and so maybe that is why you picture me as Georgie is the point. And we have the same sort of the same color hair only hers is slightly darker....hmm...other than that- my eyes and nose are small, hers are big...hmm... guess I don't look much like her after all!

You suck a lollipop, and you sing a song. Get it right, Jo!
Ithilwen, hmmm I don't think you change your avvie *that* much, but enough for me to go "oh! Ithy changed her avvie again!" but it's all LotR so I recognize who you are without needing to read your name I actually do picture you as a young female pippin now btw
