(Interesting factoid: my favorite character is NOT Arwen. It is Goldberry)
Oh, yes, and to show my denseness, I originally thought that the costuming section was the only part of the forum. It took me several months to discover there was more of the forum.
I love Goldberry! One of my faves. Sad the chapter didn't make the movie, although it makes perfect sense why. And I gotta say, you gave me a laugh with that last.
This thread is very...enlightening.
When I first joined NW, I spent five minutes staring at the screen, trying to figure out how to connect myself to Narnia. I looked out the window and my train of thought went something like this: "It's snowing. Like during the White Witch's 100 year winter. My life's kind of like that, a life of winter. Life of winter... winterlife!" (No, my life isn't depressing, I just live in Alaska.)
(will take a brief moment to address her two biggest pet peeves in relation to her user name)
1. My user name is not capitalized. I know it's awkward at the beginning of a sentence, but for some reason it really bugs me when people capitalize it.
2. About the nickname "winty"... Sparky ruined it in chat one day when he posted "winty makes me think of minty. which makes me think of chocolate chip mint ice cream. which makes me hungry. so now, whenever I think of you, I'll get hungry." I prefer winter, if that's all right.

Okay, there's quite a backstory to my username.
Originally, my internet name had been JayJay, because it was different and unique and I liked it (not to mention my name begins with a "J"). Eventually, though, I started wanting something different.
I've noticed that most people are saying that they come up with different names for each forum, usually something related to that forum. This is actually the first and only forum I've ever been a part of, so I was unaware of this practice. When I joined, I wanted something that wasn't Narnian, because I knew that almost everyone else would have something like that.
Okay, now for the story behind the actual name. I love to fantasize, and usually come up with adventures for myself. One story rolled in where a fire ball shows up in my room one night. I touch it, and inherit the powers that make me the Fire Fairy. This fantasy turned into a huge story with 14 Guardian Fairies, which I actually plan on writing someday, hopefully as a manga or graphic novel. I actually ended up changing the name of the Fire Fairy character to Jennifer so it wouldn't be myself, since that is a really bad idea in good writing.
So, anyway, because of that, I started taking on the name of Fire Fairy in almost anything internet-related, and it has become my username for many different sites as well as part of my email address. And, well, I love it!!! I've always been fascinated with fire, and it is probably my favorite element (no, I'm not a pyromaniac. I consider myself a pyrophile, which I took from the words pyro, which means fire, and phile, which means lover of. I'm also a bibliophile, by the way (lover of books)). Anyways, that's my long and complicated story!

The story behind my username is simple I'm a Big fan of Narnia and their are 7 book so I put them together and cam up with narnia fan 7.
How interesting to read all these stories!
Here's my tale:
I was a long term member of the C.S.Lewis site "Into the Wardrobe", (the forums have closed this year but the site with its information remains).
In 2001 some friends from ITW began using instant messaging and encouraged me to join them.
In a wonderful shared story we wrote in 2000 I had created a mouse character called Mini (partly as a joke on all the times I'd played mice on stage, being small). I didn't want her name, but liked the idea of alluding to her.
I reasoned that I was looking for a "vehicle" for a mouse [in a wider sense] - and it made sense to choose "coracle" as that vehicle.
So it became my AIM, MSN and Yahoo instant messaging, and later my home email. When NarniaWeb attracted me in Feb 2004, I decided this was an ideal place to use it.
[This week I needed a username on another site, and wanted something different from my real name, and not too Narnian sounding, but.... ended up using "Galmian" - if you read about the girl from Galmia and know what I look like, you would realise it suits me very well!]
There, shining in the sunrise, larger than they had seen him before, shaking his mane (for it had apparently grown again) stood Aslan himself.
"...when a willing victim who had committed no treachery was killed in a traitor's stead, the Table would crack and Death itself would start working backwards."
Well, in the Narnian legends, and actually in a lot of Scandanavian and Norse mythology, Fauns are given their names by their family groups, which often are splices of their mother and father's names (although, this isn't well known, so not all Fauns are written this way, but for an example if the sire's name was Turtlewell and the dam's name was Doverose, the fawn would be Turtledove or Rosewell), or in some cases, they revolve around the season in which they were born (Springbloom, Summerwind, or Snowblossom are examples of these). Anyway, my birthday is the 24th of December, and so my parents named me Angel. I love Fauns (their so happy and cheerful and musically creative!), so I chose Angelwings_The_Faun, which takes my real name and mixes it with an aspect of that name, and of course, the creature I was thinking of at the time.
I'm an artist, so I may at some point create a fursona to identify with my screenname, which is unique to this forum.
Lol, sorry, that was rather lengthy wasn't it?

Those who've read the Ditto Story may recognize the Star Defenders. They are a group of specially-gifted space warriors who use their powers to protect the universe. Their origins go back over 12 years ago, when they were fashioned up by an elementary-student version of me and my best friend. Since then, they have undergone slow but sure development, and are pretty much now completely different from those early origins.
The username itself existed as early as 8 years ago, when it officially became my official username for my school email. "Defenders" was shortened to "df" for space limitations, and 29, which is part of my birthday and my favorite number, was added for good measure.

When I was joining NW, my family & I were really obsessed with this cheesy Christian movie called 'The Pendragon' & I thought it was cool so I used it.
I've seen that movie. Actually my dad is the guy with the nose ring. I'm not joking either. It's really not like a Hollywood movie but, it's okay.
I get asked a LOT about my username. I wanted something to do with Dwarves but, I'm not short, I'm in fact pretty tall, so I went with a Giant. And since there aren't any other Giants in Narnia other than the ones in Ettinsmoor I decided to go with that. But, I didn't really want to make myself look dumb. So I tried CleverEttinsmoorGiant. But, that was too long so, had to go with ClvrEttinsmoorGiant.
Where there are two Narnia Webbers there are three opinions.
unlike many my name isnt narnia-related .. which maybe i should of gone with .. but then i know that there is no other cuppycakesrach's in fact nothing close .. so i'm glad I decided with this one. So, onto the story.. when i was getting my first email adress my parents wanted something that had my name in it so i wouldnt forget and they wanted something cutesy so i got stuck with .. cuppycakesrach.. at first i thought it was awful .. but it actually fits me well .. so now i am in fact cuppycakesrach .. but most everyone calls me Rachel
" We have nothing if not belief"
cuppycakesrach, I have a confession to make. I have always read your name as "cuppycakescratch" as in, a cup cake made from scratch. I'm not sure why, I guess it just made sense to me.
Kate, I used to read rachel's username that way too until one day I did a double-take and notcied it was actually Rach!

Umm...
My username is basically completely random
Well...maybe not COMPLETELY random.
First of all, I like pickles, like I think they're really yummy and I'm kind of obsessed with them .
Also, my sister for some reason (I never did quite figure out why) started calling me Pickle as a nickname. It kind of stuck. To her, it's basically my name now.
I also think it just sounds really cool and unique .
So yea, that's basically why my username is pickle.
Proud supporter of Blarghefur!
thanks for the avy and sig, Eustace+Jill!
^^ I love that, pickle! I have an odd obsession for random things, lol. And I think "pickle" is a great username!
Oh, and I thought cupcakesrach was cupcakescratch too, haha!
