I chose 'Lady Haleth', because it was the name of one of my favorite characters from Tolkien's 'The Silmarillion'.

self-explanatory. Though now that I think about it, I wish I had used PlaceForUs instead.... :p

Oh dear. This could get confusing. ;)

I guess my explanation would be.. yeah, I wanted a Narnian name, but I'm hopeless at creating good-sounding names, so I picked something simple. I now kind of regret it, because of Air Conditioning :p and the fact that there's a website of the same name. But anyway. It's only a username, after all. ;))

It's such fun to read through and see the stories behind everyone's usernames! :D Especially some of you that I've been wondering about for awhile and never got up the nerve to ask. ;))

When I joined Narniaweb, I really wanted a username along the lines of "queen/queen Lucy/Susan", but everything I could come up with was already taken. I was in the middle of studying Hebrew, and malkah is the Hebrew word for "queen", so I decided on that instead. So it's still a Narnian username, just indirectly. ;)

After more than a year, I'm still happy with it. It's fairly simple, it sounds a bit like an actual name, and there aren't really any possible nicknames that I don't like. ;)

Sorry Aslans Country (with capitals) After watching all those trailers and listening to that Carrie U song this is the name that first popped in my mind when I registered, but like I said I wish I'd chosen PlaceForUs instead. Wondering if the admins can help me change the name without re-registering...;))

Don't worry about it, really. :p I'm sure you could PM someone and ask, if you really want to.

Well well! This is most interesting! It has been great fun looking through all your stories behind your usernames ;))
Thanks Fantasia_Kitty :)

Well I remember looking for information about Prince Caspian (the movie) and I came across this site. I started coming to get information and on one visit I saw 'Community Forum' (at least that is what I think it was called back on the old NarniaWeb) so I clicked on it and I decided to join up, not even knowing what a 'Community Forum' was ;)) And not knowing anything about it really, I just decided to put my name as the username. So here I am, Benjamin :P
Sometimes I think it would be nice to have a different username but then I always like being me ;))

I really enjoyed reading about how y'all got your usernames. It's always interesting to find out the backstory behind usernames. :P

Mine's relatively simple. When I first got the soundtrack for LWW, I instantly fell in love with "Wunderkind." I ended up using it as part of my email address as wunderkind_princess. When I finally decided to join NW, I tried putting in Wunderkind_Princess but obviously with the character limit I couldn't use that so I changed to Wunderkind_Lucy (the perfect name since Lucy is my favorite Narnia character). All my usernames (with the exception of one) have "wunderkind" in it. I've had my user name for almost 4 years, and I'm still satisfied, lol! :D

I've been asked about my username quite a few times (that's what you get for choosing an oddball/non-narnian one, I guess. :P ), but I just now decided that I'd explain it again.

First off, for those of you who don't know, my username is pronounced as 'flam-bow'. ('Bow' as in 'hairbow'.) ;)

Now, I chose this username for three different reasons...

Reason no.1: I loved it. :P
Reason no.2: it is the name of my favorite character from the Father Brown series by G.K. Chesterton. Flambeau is a brilliant thief who turns out... well, I can't spoil it for you, but he's perfectly awesome, and so not like me. :P
Reason no.3: the word 'flambeau' is French and it translates into English as 'The Torch'. I use that as an indirect Narnian reference: Edmund's electric torch.

There you have it! I've had this username for two and a half years now, and I still love it as much as I did when I chose it. I use it pretty much everywhere online.

Random trivia: before I thought of this username, I spent several days trying to think up what I wanted to be. My top choices where 4tSoG&4tL and Tr8rwhomndEd...
...Yeah, good luck trying to decipher those! I don't know what I was thinking! *facepalm* :P I am so glad that I chose flambeau instead! ;))

Mine somehow got into my head after reading a fanfiction (not a Narnia one, by the way). A character said something about how a different character always wanted the best- 'no less than gold', I think the exact quote is. I slept on that, and somehow woke up with the words 'less than gold' stuck in my head.
I think it's good for me, anyway. Sort of faces me to confront the fact I'm not perfect. Of course, I've actually been nicknamed 'Gold' on here, when my username implies the opposite. Oh well. Anyone is free to think I'm awesome and flawless of they want. ;) ;;) :p

Good topic!

My user name comes from the BBC TV show Robin Hood. Djaq is one of the members of Robin's gang; she is a girl; she isn't really my favorite character, but I wanted a girl name, and "Lady Marian" didn't seem to suit me. ;)) Plus, there are already so many Ladies here that I didn't want to add to that. ;))
Another option was "WillScarlett" but, as previously stated, I wanted a girl's name, so Djaq it was. :) I have a lot of nicknames because people usually type my name as "Djaw". ;)) I'll answer to Dee, Dj, Jack, Djacqueline ( ;)) ), and Deedle, to name a few. ;))
And, no, it's not pronounced like "D-jock", it's just "Jack". ;) ;))

My top choices where 4tSoG&4tL and Tr8rwhomndEd...

Goodness, flam! You would have looked like a spammer. :P *knows what the names mean*

wow it's so amazing and interesting to read about the story behind the username. I've wondered before on a few of them and now I can find out :)

mine is simple, when I was registering on NW I couldn't think of what to name myself, so I decided to call myself one of my favorite flowers. I have three, forget-me-nots, lilacs and wild roses. I didn't want to cal my self forget-me-not because I didn't know anyone of NW and so how could anyone forget me when they didn't even know me :) . I didn't know the english word for lilac at the time so I went with wild rose

I was a big fan of Asterius back when the release of Prince Caspian was around the corner, so I wanted the username Asterius. That was already taken, so I chose Minotaur. I wanted to clarify that I was a good minotaur though, so I added "for Aslan". Like, "People for [name of cause]".

Awesome idea for a thread, FK! :)

I'm one of those people that is really, really picky about usernames and has been known to wait years (sadly, I'm not exaggerating =))) to join a forum or a website because she can't come up with the right name. ;)) Didn't take me too long to come up with a name for this forum, only about a month or so. :p

I've always loved the idea of dryads, and being tall and a huge nature lover besides, it seemed like a good username for me, but I couldn't ever find a type of tree that I really identified with. Then I remembered one of my favorite books growing up, The Secret Garden by Frances Hodgson Burnett, and the rose-trees that are described in that story. I've always loved roses, and I couldn't shake the idea of a dryad with rose vines climbing through her hair out of my head, so I became The Rose-Tree Dryad. @};-
