I do believe we watch the same show :D Is that the one with the man who lives with wolves? I love Matsi! I was gonna ask if that's where you got it from on the getting to know you thread. I don't know why I didn't.

That's the one! :D

I've registered as Meltintalle (or a variant thereof) on most of the internet sites I'm a member of. Way back when I did a search to see what my name would be in Tolkien's Elvish, and Meltintalle is the Quenyan version, translating to Lover of the Starkindler. Uh... does that make me a mod with star in my name? ;))

(Every so often I think that the Sindarin version, Silamadan, would be prettier, but now I can't really imagine any other user name. ;)) ) *awaits a PM or two informing her that the two words don't mean the same thing* :p

Well...mine's pretty straightforward. I'm a Christian, and the idea of being open about that always appealed to me, but OpenChristFollower doesn't sound so good. One of my favorite Bible passages is Joel 2-3 (If you read it, you wouldn't get it, but I do). Joel 3:9 says 'Proclaim Christ among the nations..." so I designed the name ChristProclaimer for myself, because I like the strength in the word.

And then I tried to enter it and was told there was a 15-character limit or something, so I had to lose the 'i' in proclaim.

Great idea for a thread, it's fascinating to hear all of our backstories. And don't worry, Aslan's Jewel, I haven't thought you were a girl in years. ;)

Back when I first joined NWeb (I think late 2005 just before LWW hit the silver screen) I decided to go with something CS Lewis-y, so I opted to claim "Shadowlander", ie; from the Shadowlands, or Earth. It's the only time in recorded history I've ever deviated from my normal forum name of StealthDonut, which has a far funnier and more interesting story behind it, but by the time I figured I'd change it that's SL was all anyone knew me as, so I kept it. ;))

I did that at first, and then one day I was looking at it and I'm like..."wait there's no "r""

:p Yep, lots of people do it. I don't mind though; if people want to think of me as a brother, I'm fine with that! However, people who think it's Brother Eustace may be confused when they hear my nickname Boe, and may think I'd be better suited to "Bro" or something. :p

Oh dear. Long story. Ok, so it started in real life where my friends jokingly refer to me as "Dah Nerd" because I can easily recite anything I set my mind to, making me appear smart.

So when I expressed my feelings towards Narnia to them somebody radomly shouted out "He's a Narni Nerd!" and I'm like "No! Its Narnianerd. Get it right" so when I jooned NWeb its what I went with. :D

Mine is the same username I've been using ever since I started using the Internet. ;)) I was joining a gymnastics forum and I needed a username, so I was super creative and went with Gymfan. 15 was my age. Originally I was Gymfan14, but it was so much of a hassle changing over once I had my birthday that I swore never again, and Gymfan15 I remain. Besides, who wants to eventually be Gymfan32? ;)

ages ago, I got an idea for a book and I wanted to have a good name for my main character. I thought up the name Liberty Hoffman and thus, there's the name! I use it and the short version of it, Libby, for all my internet usernames :D

Mine is easy. I wanted a username to be connected to the stories but unique from any actual name. So I tried to think of names for each story and from The Silver Chair came:

(Glimfeather - feather) + (Puddleglum - Puddle) = GlimGlum. :D

It sounded kind of catchy so I used it first and it has stuck. Of course when The Silver Chair comes out I will change it to FeatherPuddle. B-) :-o

(Just kidding ;) for any admins who are watching 8-| )

Mine has been part of my e-mail address since I was 19 years old.

star because I was obsessed with the history of the U.S. space program from the age of 14 - 18.

kat because I am a cat person, but I thought starcat looked weird so I switched to cat with a k because I wanted to be different.

I just chose to stick with it when I joined the forum here. Hmmm... now that I type this, I just realized, I've been using it for 10 years now.

'Tis so interesting to read all these!

Glim, I've always liked your unique username, but the FeatherPuddle idea simply cracks me up. ;))

*thinks she might try calling Shadowlander "StealthDonut" sometime to see if he responds* (I'd love to hear the story behind that name, if you will.)

That's cool you've used 'starkat' for a decade now, kat! It's just so ... you!

When we first got a computer, I went online as rosegamgee, but then wanted something more generally related to hobbits. So ... my real name is Jo-Anna, but so many call me "Jo" that I incorporated that with my love of those simple-living, nature-loving, furry-footed folk. And since I'm a Peanuts gang fan, it's also kind of a take-off on Snoopy's "Joe Cool" line, but that was more a secondary thought. I haven't ever doubted that it suits me to a "T".

I picked Eustace+Jill because, at the time, I was really into the relationship between the two characters in SC and LB. Haha, now I'm not so much into that, and not very fond of my username... (anyone know how to change it? lol )
Needless to say I much prefer to be called EJ or Riella. If I ever find a way to change my username, maybe I'll pick one of those... :-

My username just popped into my head one day. But thinking about it afterward I realized that it is a play on quotes from different books I've read and I liked it so much I decided to go with it.

1st quote: Not exactly a quote, but human girls in Narnia are always referred to as Daughters of Eve.

2nd quote: "What do you mean by a princess?" "The daughter of a king." "Very well, then every little girl is a princess, and there would be no need to say anything about it, except that she is always in danger of forgetting her rank..." The Princess and the Goblin by George MacDonald--this one was in my signature when I first joined Narniaweb.

3rd quote: Slender and tall she was in her white robe girt with silver; but strong she seemed and stern as steel, a daughter of kings. The Two Towers by J.R.R. Tolkien

And last, but definitely not least, my heavenly Father is the King of Kings. So, I am a princess, a daughter of the King.

Mine is simply the most boring username ever. :p

When I joined back in 2005, I just wanted to get going on the forum, and didn't feel like taking the time to be creative. Narnialover was the first thing that came to my head, so I put that down. 101 was the number I'd used on my usernames for years and years, so I added that, and ta-dah! Narnialover101. ;)

Some people may take the "101" to mean "the basics" like in Communication 101, etc. but in actuality, when I created the account, I had no idea 101 stood for that. I was a very smart 12 year old. ;)

So there you have it.

I'll always be a,
NL101 :)
