I dont know if this is legit or not but it seems pretty real to me. its supposed to be the opening scene to HP7P2 but a part of me doubts it. Its good anyways though

... re=feedlik

any thoughts?

I don't know about it being the opening scene...but that clip is from the special features of DH Part 1 (I know it's on the Blu-ray version at least). It really is a scene from Part 2. ;)

I was severely upset that that scene wasn't on our disk! We had heard that the opening scene of the film was going to be included in the special features of the two disk DVD. . . but this wasn't there.

I'm glad I've got to see it now!

I made a new wand today (Making wands from fallen timber has been a hobby of mine when I'm bored). It's a maple wand, about 11 inches (looks like a Unicorn core to me ;) ). This is the third one that I've made, and it's probably the best one too. My wand (the one I made for myself about three years ago) is Cherry, 14 inches, and looks Dragon-Heartstringish ;).

Wandmaking is such a neat hobby. It's a great way to spend a half hour. . . very relaxing to do it outside as the wind whistles through the trees.

The link no longer has the video and I've never seen it. It wasn't on my copy of the DVD (is it only on Blu-Ray?!)

I'm also pretty upset with the whole Pettigrew scenario but I'm sure I won't even be thinking about him when I get to watch the film.

Wand making? Care to share pictures? How do you make them?
(The only "wand" I have is a Hermione replica wand from the Noble Collection)

Here is an image I just took of the two wands I've made.

The top wand is the one that I made a few years ago (Cherry, 14 inches, Dragon Heartstring.) It's been my wand for the past few years. The bottom one is the one that I made yesterday (Maple, 10 inches, Unicorn Hair). My Mom thinks that the new one looks a bit like a death-eater's wand, but I disagree ;))

I make them by first finding a good piece of fallen wood (I don't take wood off of living trees). Then I use a very large knife of mine (my dad actually made it for me), and carve out the pin/neck of the wand. After that, I'll carve the handle. Finally, I'll add the detailing, which can include carvings (very basic ones at that!), flecking, staining, or other works. The first wand was obtained when a branch fell off of a very large tree in our yard. It's fairly basic, but is very sturdy. It looked kind of plain when I was done with it, and so I used MinWax stain on the wand's handle to make it look a bit fancier. The second wand was made from Maple. Maple bark is a very dull grey, but if you peel off just the outside you're left with a beautiful chocolate brown. Underneath this is the hard-wood part of it, which is a creamish-white. I made this wand by removing all of the bark from the pin/neck, and whittling it into an appropriate shape. For the handle, I only removed the grey (leaving the chocolate brown you see). To accent this, I removed a few chunks of this thin chocolate layer to give the wand a flecked look. I'm quite pleased with the way that both of them came out ;))

I also have a replica of Harry's wand, which lights up when you wave it!!!!

Wow, that's awesome!
Wish I was that crafty!
Do you display them?

And your replica wand sounds cool too! (Did you get that at Noble Collection? I know they have one like it...)

I actually got it for Christmas. Mom and dad got it from Barnes and Noble, but I believe that it's the same one that's from the Noble Collection.

Thanks, I'm glad you like them ;))

Neat wands, DiGs! Thanks for sharing! :D I attempted to make a wand a while back for the 7th book's midnight release party...it mostly involved taking a stick and scraping/sanding the tip into a rounded point. ;)) It's nowhere near as pretty as yours.

I also have a replica of Sirius's wand that I got while at the theme park in Orlando, which I love. He's my favorite character.

Ooh! I'm so jealous! I want to go to the theme park so badly (if for no other reason than to be able to buy stuff from the shops!!!). During the Harry Potter party a few weeks back, the head of Ravenclaw house had a time turner that they'd gotten from the park.

Maybe someday

I'm glad that you think my wands are pretty though ;))

The only reason I want to go there is for the shops. I couldn't care less about the rides! :p

The shops were pretty cool! :D According to my friends, all the items there could be bought online, but it was neat seeing it all in once place. And the butterbeer was reeeaally good.

As for rides, the roller coasters were, well, roller coasters. But they were worth going on just to stand in line and see the cool set built up around you, hehe. But the Forbidden Journey ride was WAY awesome. First of all, you have to walk through the Hogwarts Castle to get to the ride entrance. Then the ride itself is sort of a combination of a simlulation ride and flying through different sets with animatrons everywhere. I was able to go on it three times since the lines weren't bad at all!

It was also really neat to see the Hogwarts Castle all lit up at night. :D

Were the prices the same as the prop replicas online? For some reason I thought everything would be less expensive down there. (For example, Hermione's Time Turner retails for 49.99 at The Noble Collection. . . I was hoping to get a cheaper one down there one day). I really hope that they have a lot more Ravenclaw merchandise. There's next to nothing anywhere online :(

I can only imagine how magical it would be to work there!!!!

And OH to see Hogwarts lit up at night. . . like a dream come true!

Hmm...well, I think they ARE cheaper, because I looked up prices for my wand, and the online price is $10 more than what I paid for it. The Ravenclaw scarf I bought is going for about $15 more online, and it looks like the online sellers are people who bought the scarf and the park and are reselling it. (By the way, the scarf I have is the one here.)

Yeah, I remember thinking how awesome it would be to work there...all the employees were dressed up in wizard clothing. :P

The atmosphere most be incredible there! I like the idea of being able to buy merchandise in a real-life "Ollivander's" or eat in the "Hog's Head".

Or drink Butterbeer in the Three Broomsticks! Or pop into Honeydukes! Oh how exciting it would be!

How could I forget about Butterbeer?! I am absolutely dying to try a Butterbeer! I've heard people say that it changes texture as you keep drinking it.
