Hmm....I've read that she said she would consider writing a book that took place in the same world....but even recently she said during an 8th Harry Potter book is "unlikely".

People change there minds, so you never know, she did say some part of her felt missing when she finished the last book.

Oh, you really got my hopes up there (I'm a Dudley Fan). I think, though, that it's likely not true. I think JKR is writing something in the Harry Potter universe, but I don't think it'll feature Harry. As I recall, she told Daniel Radcliffe, "You're Done." She practically promised he won't have to play Harry in any more films.

So, it's up to speculate what the next book(s?) will be about. I'm hoping for a first Gen series, covering the early years of the Order up to the deaths of the Potters. Just as long as James Potter isn't the hero, though...(I am not a James fan).

Anyone else have any guesses as the next book?

In don't like james either, even before i found out what he was like to snape. I wouldn't mind the book to be about young snape.

I just finished with my reread of all seven books. It took me a little more than two months (would have taken less if I hadn't been as busy. ). But now that I'm done, I'm going into HP withdrawals. I can't read anything else at the moment...going to need some time to adjust, during which I'll probably end up watching all the movies again.

I WISH there'd be another book. Even just another book by J.K. Rowling, even if it isn't set in the same world. But I haven't heard of her saying anything definite about anything, so I'd rather not get my hopes up.

I would love her to return to the world but this time set it in a Medieval/Renaissance time. But I think that may be too typical, therefore she'd stay away from such a thing like the plague!

What about the world of Hogwarts in the Prohibition Era? I'd read that one!

why not go to the future not the passed. like the year 3552, would they ahve changed much or would just the muggles have changed?

I think JK Rowling is smart by not making another series having to do with Harry Potter, because honestly I feel knock-off (I know thats not the right word, I can't remember the right word ) series of Harry Potter would never get near as popuar as the original

I would personally prefer for J.K. Rowling to start a brand new series that has nothing to do with the Potter-Verse. That story has already been told. . . let her start a new one for all of us to adore.

I can't even imagine what types of stories might be floating around in her head. Who could have imagined the Harry Potter universe before she wrote it?

I'm excited for whatever comes next. I just wish she'd hurry up already!

The trailer is just blowing my mind....I can't even fathom what awaits me when I watch the whole film. My goodness! I am so excited.

Yet, I am so sad. I'm on the verge of tears. This is it. This is the end. This is what the entirety of my childhood has been leading up to.

I know what you mean. Harry's been around for what, 14 years now? And with this final movie it feels like an entire era is coming to an end. It's been an amazing ride and I don't want it to end.

But seriously, WAS THAT THE MOST FANTASTIC TRAILER EVER OR WHAT?!?!?!!? I've lost track of how many times I've watched it. I had a total freakout on Twitter when I realized there are two quick clips from the Molly/Bellatrix battle in it.
