Yes! :-o

But Emma is still a stunner. :D

You're absolutely right W4J. Not every woman can rock a "boy cut" or shaved head, like Emma Watson and Natalie Portman can.

Some awesome new high-res pictures from DH!

Thanks for sharing those photos. They look great! I think they got Luna Lovegood's dad down to a T. ;)

Cool! B-) If the photos, clips, and previews we've seen so far are any indication, DH 1 & 2 is shaping up to be one of the tighter adaptations in the Potter series since the first few films. Which makes sense because Yates has Two 2 1/2 hr films to spread out the material in. :D

It has just been revealed that the first film will cover chapters 1-24 and the second film will cover chapters 25-36.

http://movies.yahoo.com/feature/movie-t ... split.html

I guess this makes sense, because they need to progress through the campout chapters fairly quickly because if made too long they could mess with the pacing of the film.

Hahaha! The picture of Mr. Lovegood is so perfect! He looks like he just wandered out of Woodstock! But oh my Bellatrix's hair! It's going to gain sentience and start eating characters, I'm sure of it. :p

MinotaurForAslan, yes, I noticed that but I still wonder about the length of the movies. Will Part One be approximately 3 hours and Part Two be under 2 hours? It'll be interesting to see how they make this work.

They really shouldn't have erased the blood from Hermione's hands. This is meant to be the final battle. The gloves are off!

Also, why does the article refer to Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows as being 759 pages long? My copy is just over 600 pages, about the same length as Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince, but much shorter than Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix. Curious.

In the high res movie still, the blood is back on Hermione's hands W4J. Maybe it's back in film too :- .

Hopefully you're correct about that one.

P.S. Ah, do you have the US edition of the book or the UK edition? Mine is published in Australia but it has the same amount of pages as the UK edition.

That explains it W4J. *-:) The UK edition has 607 pages, vs the US edition 759. I don't envy you the smaller font size. :p Of course my eyes are getting older.

Light-bulb moment! Good work GB. My copy has a font-size of 11, so it's not bad at all. It doesn't have any pictures though and the gutter margins are narrow. Maybe that's what makes such a difference.

Goodness, they must have managed to cramp a lot of words per page in the UK and Australian editions. The pictures in my edition aren't included in the page count, though it does have the small versions at the beginning of each chapter. But they aren't big enough to make a difference. It must be the margins as you suggest, and perhaps the spacing between the lines.

PS: Just checked my font size....12 pt.

Yes, I wonder why there's such disparity between the length of the two editions. Paper shortages in the UK and Australia? Who knows. :P The paragraph spacing is rather narrow but not enough to make it difficult to read.
I can't wait for the movies. I'm sure they'll be great. But the wait, oh the humanity!

I think it probably will be - they might have had to remove the blood just so they could get the "This preview has been approved for all audiences" banner in front of the trailer. When I compared the shot with blood and without, it looks like the bloodless hands are rushed CGI work.

Maybe you're right about Hermione's hands. After all, she doesn't have bloodied hands every time she puts spells around their camping site in the book.

I loved the photos also. It seems they are going to be true to the book, including the first chapter, which I thought they wouldn't. I rather like that, as Hedwig's exit is the bit about DH I like the least.
