I had school stuff on Thursday, so I didn't get to go to the Maundy Thursday service, but I attended the Good Friday service, the Vigil on Saturday, the sunrise service this morning, and the regular service after breakfast. Holy Week is one of my favorite times of the year, but I must admit, I could really use a nap. Anyhow.......He is risen!
(my mom still insists on giving me an Easter basket even though I'm now a 16 yr. old who won't eat candy).
I'm 25 and my sister is 21 and we still get Easter gifts from our mom. Usually we get a pair of Easter socks, but she couldn't find anywhere this year. We got Easter soup mugs, Starburst jelly beans, Gummi Lifesavers bunnies, Starbursts, two small stuffed animals and Skittles. My sister and I dyed Easter eggs today.
I could really use a nap.
I could too, except that I can never fall asleep when I try to take a nap - even when I'm sick - and I have to help get stuff ready for Easter dinner in about 20 minutes.

A very happy Resurrection Sunday/Easter to you all! Had an exceptional time at church, and an even better time at a wonderful Easter lunch with a couple friends from church! We're so blessed to know that He is risen!

Why did I just now discover this thread ... via a mod?
Anyway ... I just wanted to say that members' Easter-related avies and siggies are REALLY BEAUTIFUL! [Edit: I wanna give a special shout-out to Heroine of Chivalry -- who didn't post in this thread. ]
Happy belated Easter, everyone! JESUS IS ALIVE! Check out these links:

3. My new blog post Redemption: Jesus drank your cup! ... Jesus drank my cup! Do you know what was in that cup? The fullness of God's punishment and wrath for lust, pride, vanity, selfishness, thoughtlessness, anger, idolatry -- in my mind, heart, tongue, and body. As a result, Jesus said nothing when accused. He had no defense. Because I had no defense! So what's in your cup? What did Jesus drink for you?
In light of all this...
1. How can we think of ever sinning again? Against our Lord? It's just one more drop of wrath for Jesus to drink!
2. Matthew 28 like Peter, do our person, manner, and speech betray that we've been with Jesus and are one of His company?
3. Luke 23 Herod longed to see Jesus, albeit for the wrong reasons, and was glad when he met Him. Do we long to see Jesus, to talk with Him and share with everyone what He has done for us?
4. We all have one story to tell: what Jesus did for us on the cross! The greatest love story ever told! What story are you sharing with others today?
Where's our passion? Where's our zeal? How do we love Jesus so little?!
@Pattertwig: yummy.
@johobbit: you own 2nd Chapter of Acts' Roar of Love CD?! *jealous* I own Annie Herring's Glimpses CD. I love it! And here is my 2nd Chapter of Acts playlist on Youtube.
