How we miss qwertykate here! What a treasure she was. I just wrote her parents this morning, as they miss their daughter so very much. I am grateful we have that daily Kathy memorial reminder outside our front door - the beautiful, large Oakleaf Hydrangea, which is thriving (thanks for that specific idea, coraclel). Standing around with other NarniaWebbers at the 2016 Moot singing "Be Thou My Vision", Kathy's favourite hymn ... wow, I will never forget that precious time.
But now, back on topic.

Christ is King.
For my birthday, I went to my favorite restaurant (the Panda Buffet) for dinner. Then I hung out at the library for a while and got a collection of O. Henry stories. (The book has one for each holiday in the calendar. American holidays anyway.) For supper, I had a Papa Murphy's pizza, which I don't get often and when I do, other people choose the toppings, and dessert, a cherry pie. I also watched my mom's favorite Christmas movie, The Nativity Story, with her. It's not my favorite Christmas movie but I don't dislike it, and I didn't get to watch the whole thing with her last year.
It was a quiet celebration and probably not as much fun as last year's but after all the partying with so many relatives over Christmas, a calm, relaxing day with only a few close family members felt ideal. I hope @redeemedqueen, @firebird, @revelinginwonder, @wiseman88 and @fearnot12 enjoyed the day as much as I did.
For better or worse-for who knows what may unfold from a chrysalis?-hope was left behind.
