Sorry I'm a day late, @courtenay. I hope your birthday was delightful, filled with celebratory memories from family and friends. Good to have you on the forum! 
I was trying to find an Australian flag cake with candles, but could not track one down, so this will have to do.

Thanks, @kingedthejust! No, I haven't done anything special this year, but I hope to have a video call with my family in Australia tomorrow (the earliest it worked out for us all to be available), and next week I'm planning to go on a 2-day hike along the Sandstone Trail from the north to the south of Cheshire! (That isn't specifically a birthday treat — it's just when it fitted in with my work schedule — but it's nice that it almost coincides.)
@jo The Aussie cake looks lovely, thank you! I wonder what kind of cake it is under the icing??
