1. Name (please avoid your real full name): David
2. King or Queen of Narnia (guy or girl): King
3. Family (single/married/kids): Married with a son.
4. Occupation: Software Developer
5. How you learned about NarniaWeb: (I've been reading NarniaWeb since the Waldon/Disney movies - since about 2009-ish, I think I originally found it in a web search for movie news way back in the day).
6. How old were you when you first read the Chronicles: 9 years old when they were read to me, 12 when I read them for myself.
7. How many times have you read the Chronicles: Too many to count, I had a tradition of reading them once every semester during my high school years and have read them occasionally as an adult.
8. Favorite of the Chronicles: The Horse and His Boy (I love the character growth. All four of the main characters want to get to Narnia for a better way of life, but they all have something of an anti-Narnian mindset. Bree loves being a great war horse, but it is only because he is a captive that he can be a great war horse - as a free horse, he will be just another guy. Aravis is proud and sees herself as better than a beggar boy like Shasta, but she wants to go to a land where women are not seen as possessions and where there isn't the hierarchy that allows her to be proud. Shasta doesn't want to be just another beggar / slave, and yet he has a little-man complex - it's great!)
9. Hobbies and/or interesting things about you: Before being a father: 3D Computer Animation, Movies, playing various sports, video games. After being a dad: watching kids movies, reading children's books, playing with my sons toys - oh and sleep! 🙂
A big, warm welcome to NarniaWeb, @DavidD! How wonderful you have been reading The Chronicles of Narnia all these years, and are now introducing them to your son.Â
I love your thoughts on The Horse and His Boy. Wonderful, treasured stuff, indeed!
And, as for sleep, ooh, yes, I well recall those days when our kiddos were very young. Life sure changes, doesn't it, when one has children?! But what a privilege. Sounds like you have some great and memory-making times with your son!

- Name (please avoid your real full name):
Hi! My name is Pat. - King or Queen of Narnia (guy or girl):
I’m gonna go with Bacchus in Prince Caspian. "There's a chap who might do anything—absolutely anything."
- Family (single/married/kids):
My wife and I have been married for 8 years. We have two sons – they are 6 and 3.
- Occupation:
I am the Design & Production Manager for a public media organization. I oversee our graphic design, visual identity and brand. I also host some of our fundraising campaigns for our television and radio stations. You know, the "Thanks to viewers like you" guy.
- How you learned about NarniaWeb:
I first learned about NarniaWeb over 20 years ago! I joined in October 2004 when I was a sophomore in high school. I was very active in the forums during production of the Walden Media films, but fell out-of-touch for at least a decade. It looks like my old posts may have disappeared with the old forum – I know I had around 1,000 posts back then! I still visited the site frequently to stay up-to-date on Narnia news and listened to the Talking Beasts podcast, but rarely posted in the forums. All of the news surrounding Netflix Narnia has inspired me to start posting in the forums again.
- How old were you when you first read the Chronicles:
I began reading The Chronicles of Narnia when I was 7 years old, and instantly fell in love with the series. I was obsessed! These books defined my childhood. I have to admit, I read the series in chronological order! Can you blame me? I was just a little kid following the numbers on the spines of the editions with cover art by Leo and Diane Dillon.
- How many times have you read the Chronicles:
I’ve only reread the series as a whole a handful of times, but I’ve often revisited the individual books throughout my life. Just depends on what kind of story I’m in the mood for. I just started reading the series to my oldest son, which is a totally heartwarming and surreal experience. I’m excited to share my love of Narnia with him!
- Favorite of the Chronicles:
As you can probably tell by my username, The Silver Chair is my favorite book in the series. To me, it has always felt somewhat darker and more dramatic than the other books. I love the mysteries: following the signs and uncovering the identity of the Black Knight. I absolutely love the scene when Prince Rilian is bound to the Silver Chair followed by the Lady of the Green Kirtle transforming into the serpent. I was simultaneously fascinated and frightened by the intensity of these scenes – what a rush! - Hobbies and/or interesting things about you:
I do a lot of performing throughout my city – singing in a couple bands, emceeing benefits, and appearing in stage productions. I love helping out with my sons’ activities too: soccer, tee-ball, and art classes.
How very interesting to read your responses, @silverchair! And a big, warm Welcome Back to NarniaWeb. It is good to have you here again.
How life has grown for you — now married and with two children, wonderful! And I love that you are reading the Chronicles to your eldest. What treasured times. We did this with our kiddos, too, in the summer sitting around the campfire after a swim, into the evening, when they would beg for "just one more chapter".
Or reading in the cozy living room before bedtime in the winter months, when the snow was deep outside. (We also did this with The Hobbit and The Lord of the Rings, and many others of the classic stories.) 'Tis such a privilege to pass on these treasured tales to the next generation, isn't it?!

5. How you learned about NarniaWeb: About the time the movies came out. Decided to return when this recent news broke. Also think my username isn't the greatest, but it's all I got. Thought I should give it a bit of a change from the original bronwyn I used back then. 🙂
6. How old were you when you first read the Chronicles: Think I tried to read Prince Caspian as a youngster but was probably too young to understand so gave up. Didn't read them in full until my 20's.
7. How many times have you read the Chronicles: Not nearly enough.
8. Favorite of the Chronicles: The Horse and his boy.
9. Hobbies and/or interesting things about you:Â Writer, reader, classic film fan. I enjoy silent film and the history there. Learning about theology, the Church, Christianity, as well as learning about other religions.
A hearty Welcome Back to you, @bronwynn (I have liked that name ever since I was a young 'un). Yes, the movie news is ramping up. And much more to come, no doubt! How good you tried reading the Chronicles again as a young adult, after your first attempt as a child. Â

@aslan_arg Welcome!Â
Please can I ask, does "rey" mean "king"? Â
Do you have a favourite Narnia book?
There, shining in the sunrise, larger than they had seen him before, shaking his mane (for it had apparently grown again) stood Aslan himself.
"...when a willing victim who had committed no treachery was killed in a traitor's stead, the Table would crack and Death itself would start working backwards."
Welcome to NarniaWeb, @aslan_arg / Rey! It is good to have you here. Are the Chronicles of Narnia quite well known in your area of Argentina?
