I just saw the trailer today, uh, question for you guys, I thought the games were over? I haven't read the books or seen the film, but I thought it ends with her and Peeta (?) winning/surviving? Why do they have to do it all over again? It looks SO good though.

There is some suspicion that the rule was deliberately invented by the Capitol to take out Peeta and Katniss. By winning the Games the way they did, Peeta and Katniss made the Capitol look weak, encouraging the districts to attempt a second rebellion.

The trailer looks much better and more interesting than the novel it's based upon. And less shaky-cam! Huzzah!

Doctor Who - Season 11
Everybody is talking about Catching Fire, and it does look really good, but there's another movie that has piqued my interest quite a bit.
Has anyone seen the trailer for 'Saving Mr. Banks'? It's about Walt Disney meeting Mrs. Travers, the author of Mary Poppins, to try to convince her to sell him the rights to make the movie. It looks really good imho.
And Tom Hanks as Walt Disney...
"Saving Mr. Banks" looks like an amazing movie. I love the music for the trailer.... I hope they do a lot of the music from Mary Poppins in the soundtrack. I agree, FK-- Tom Hanks as Disney is pure genius; Emma Thompson also looks fantastic as PL Travers. So yeah, really, really looking forward to Christmas!
"To the Great Western Wood, I give you...."
I've been following Saving Mr. Banks for awhile, and I was really excited to see the trailer. I also admit that as a Disneyland geek, I'm excited to see that they filmed inside the park, lol.
Should be cool!
The fith estate looks good. It is weird hearing benedict cumberbatch with an Australian accent.
It is weird, but not as weird as the white blonde hair... Interesting topic for a film though...that'll 'cause a stir. Seriously though, Benedict Cumberbatch is rapidly becoming an international film star. He's in something like, every month. At least I can say I saw him in Amazing Grace & (S)pooks.
And I have to ask ILF; I'm seeing a pattern here: are you a fan?
..........
fantasia_kitty, the movie looks lovely! I can't really fathom why it's PG-13, however. I saw it showed the Chinese Theatre. (Assuming they show the film premiere...) I wonder if Julie Andrews or Dick van Dyke will have cameos?
Very funny, Tom Hanks "Ha!" at the very ended sounded so much like Woody from Toy Story. Memories...
& thanks Arwenel for the explanation, I get it more now, I really should read the books, or watch the film or, err...something. The films look so good.

I am a fan, it started with turning on the tv randomly in 2010 and finding bbc Sherlock. I know martin free man from some of the comedy films I watch so yeah I am now a fan. I also find Julian assange an interesting person.
I think the long blonde hair looks somewhat weird but the short hair at the end does not.
I just saw the trailer for Saving Mr. Banks--so awesome! I can't wait! As a die hard Disney fan, I was skeptical about who would play Walt Disney--I think Tom Hanks will do a fantastic job. Probably the only actor that I would be comfortable with playing him.
Gymmie, you might notice that they are in the current Fantasyland which opened in 1983, not the Fantasyland that was there in the 1960s!
Love God, love people
Today's news of interest (to me) is that Disney and Harvey Weinstein are teaming up to make the first two Artemis Fowl books into a movie!
I love these books, but as of late I've been underwhelmed by pretty much all book-to-movie adaptations, so I can't say I'm excited, but I'll definitely be keeping an eye out.
Any other Artemis Fowl fans out there?
I've been keeping an eye on the Ender's Game movie that's coming out this November. The trailers have all been just a tad underwhelming, but it looks like it has a really interesting concept. And it's got a great cast of teenage and adult actors.
Has anyone here read the books? How faithful does the adaptation look?
The Saving Mr. Banks trailer looks really funny and sweet. And the acting looks really great too. I'm interested.
Apparently they're making a modern adaptation of Shakespeare's Cymbeline, about a battle between corrupt cops and a drug-dealing biker gang. Wasn't expecting that.

*raises hand* I've read Ender's Game and Ender's Shadow and my understanding is that this movie is mostly Ender's Game with a few bits of Shadow thrown in. The two books are the exact same story through the eyes of two different characters, Ender and Bean. This movie is clearly focusing on Ender, which is fine.
Just watched the newest trailer, and as far as accuracy goes, it's tricky to answer your question. I haven't seen much of anything that differs from the book, but the book is very character driven and psychological, and that's really lacking in the trailers. The action in the books is pretty minimal except for the backstory and the climactic ending, and that's about what 90% of the trailers have been. Sooo... I'm not feeling super pumped about the movie, but that is likely due to my Hollywood adaptation burnout in general.
The new Thor: The Dark World trailer looks amazing!
I really like the direction they are taking with Thor and Loki's relationship. It would have been pretty old if he had been the main villain again. This way is much more interesting.
Super pumped!
