I think the Noah movie sounds really stupid and as a christian it's downright insulting to the bible.

Noah approaches a race of giant six-armed angels known as "Watchers" to rally them to his cause.

WHAT??? Are these the legitimate six-winged cherubim who would support his cause anyway? Or are they the rephilim (sp?), the descendants of angels who got children with human women (Genesis 6), and not very healthy companions to have at all?

A little worrying.

I'm not sure, but I think you mean the "Nephilim".

My prediction is that outside of the 20 people who enjoy it, the film will be a monstrous stinkbomb. When Hollywood learns to treat the source material with respect you'll start to see blockbusters.

Nephilim is the word I was looking for. Thank you.
And I don't think either group would be suitable groups for Noah to rally to his cause.

It deserves to fall flat. =;

Um...wow. ;))

In other news, the extended supertrailer for Star Trek: Into Darkness appeared in front of The Hobbit this past weekend; we saw it in 3D IMAX. Not quite sure what to think:

Spoiler
Much of the beginning was devoted to our heroes trying to prevent a volcanic eruption from destroying a primitive civilization on some alien world, with Spock actually going into the volcano to try to keep it from erupting (with the help of future technology).

We also see more of the Enterprise under water - something teased in earlier commericals - with the rationale being that they're hiding it there so as not to violate the Prime Directive. And we get a line from Scotty about the salt water wreaking havoc on the sensitive systems.

But I liked the reboot, so I'm sure I'll be seeing this one as well.

But all night, Aslan and the Moon gazed upon each other with joyful and unblinking eyes.

Breaking news: Jurassic Park 4 is coming in June 13, 2014. Would be interested to know wolfloversk's thoughts on this, I think she's the biggest Jurassic Park fan here.

I'm looking forward to the Peanuts movie coming out. The Blue Sky studios (Ice age movies and Rio) will be doing it. It won't be out until 2016 though. I really want Calvin and Hobbes to become a movie. It's too bad Bill Watterson is hesitant to do one!

The Watchers are the angels in the Book of Enoch who are the fathers of the Nephilim. They were meant to watch over humanity, but went native and started giving people advanced tech and making babies. I know next to nothing about Jewish pseudepigrapha, so I have no idea if this Noah movie is based on anything extent.

Instead of a lightsaber battle, it'll be a lensflare battle!

Seriously, this is the weirdest movie news....

I'm really happy about J. J. Abrams directing Star Wars. MI3 and Star Trek are both amazing and Super 8 was pretty good. So I'm sure it's going to be great.
But it is really weird to have someone direct 2 Star Trek movies then turn around a do a Star Wars. But it doesn't worry me.

Just doing my civic duty, folks. First official bit of movie marketing for Catching Fire (logo release aside).

Squee. That is all.

Neat! :) Thanks for sharing that, Gymmie. I didn't really think about it at first, but my sister pointed the double-play going on with

There's a second teaser poster floating around that I personally loved as well, but it didn't show nearly as much. It's here...

Nice to see a break from the typical posters that are coming out these days. Kudos to the artist. :)
