I remember seeing Howell in The Blind Side. She's a bit young for Seeder, but still, she looks good!
Oh, so that's why she looked familiar!
I don't remember Seeder's role too much in the books, just vague pieces of it. I agree that she might be too young but other than that, she looks great! I wasn't too picky about who plays the really, really minor characters, anyway. Finnick is really the only one that I'm particularly concerned about. I really hope he fits the picture in my head (I'm pulling for Garrett Hedlund, personally).
Jena Malone wasn't who I expected for Johanna. (I've seen her in the '05 P&P as Lydia, so it was a bit of a shock to see her taking on a slightly darker role.) But I didn't really like Johanna much anyway so it's not too big of a deal.

Finnick Odair has been cast, and it is indeed Sam Claflin as was rumored.
This I can live with. And he's got acting chops, so yay!
Can't believe we still have over a year till CF comes out. At least filming starts soon, so we'll start getting spoilers and set pics and stuff.
Oh, and I really like Jena Malone as Johanna. She's not how I envisioned her at first, but now that I look at her more, she really does give off the vibe that she could rip Katniss to shreds if she wanted to, lol.
I've seen everyone complaining that he 'isn't handsome enough.' I don't happen to agree with them. I mean, this is Finnick. Is anyone going to be handsome enough for him? But still, I like him. Now the only one that I'm waiting for is Beetee. We have our Careers, Wiress, Finnick, Mags, Chaff, and Seeder, but who's going to play my favorite geek?
(The other one I'm waiting for is Annie.)

And he's got acting chops...
Gymfan15, do you know of some movies that he's been in? I feel as if I should know him, but I can't figure out why. I keep thinking of City of Ember or something like that. He looks so familiar though...

Pirates 4 and Snow White and the Huntsman right off the top of my head. I'll have to check on anything else, though.
Guardians Of The Galaxy Finds New Director?
Director James Gunn first cut his teeth working at Troma before penning both “Scooby Doo“ live-action movies and the well taken 2004 “Dawn Of The Dead” remake. He then directed the cult hit Slither and the indie vigilante comedy Super. Now, Marvel Studios is turning to the director for their next big franchise in the making, “Guardians of the Galaxy” . . .

Another Big Cast Member Joins Thor #2: The Dark World Cast!
It has been reported that Marvel Studios it at it again and has recently tapped actor Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje ( G.I. Joe: The Rise of Cobra ) to signed on to play the multi-arc character of “Algrim the Strong” and “Kurse”, in the all star cast for Thor #2: The Dark World, coming next holiday season to theaters . .
So... Sam Claflin. I was really not expecting him. For one, I didn't know who he was until the rumors came up. For two... I was hoping the rumors weren't true partly because I was really, really pulling for Garrett Hedlund.
So, in light of the fact that Garrett didn't get it, I'm really disappointed. But who knows? Sam may end up surprising us all. I'm willing to give him a chance at least, but he was really not who I pictured for Finnick. Oh well. Hopefully he'll surprise me.
How does everybody feel about his casting now that the initial clamor has died down?

Hmm...okay. I haven't seen either of those things, but I still think I've seen him before. O well!

A change in Hobbit titles.
1 is still titled: The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey
2 now called: The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug
3 will take over 2's original title: The Hobbit: There and Back Again
All I'm going to say about that Hobbit info is that Desolation of Smaug is such a cool title.
Oh, awesome! I love those so much! There and Back Again seems like such a great way to end the saga. There's a finality about it that really signifies the end of the trilogy, I think.
An Unexpected Journey sums up the first part of The Hobbit quite well, what with Bilbo getting roped into coming along and all. I'm loving it.
And I agree with Booky. The Desolation of Smaug is awesome. Long, but awesome. It brings images of fiery dragons and epic battles to my mind, which is incredible. I think it'll be really cool.
Thanks for sharing, narnian1!

Beetee has been cast:

I have to say this is the only casting choice that I'm disappointed by. He doesn't look how I pictured Beetee at all.

Salvation is a fire in the midnight of the soul-Switchfoot
Going back to Hobbit movie news, I agree that the title "The Desolation of Smaug" sounds cool but it seems odd for a movie title. It's just hard for me to imagine someone saying, "Hey, let's go see The Desolation of Smaug!" I was wondering what the third title would be and although I agree that the last movie should be "There and Back Again", I assumed that the fighting of Smaug part would take place later on in the story. Oh well. I have officially added December 13, 2013 and August 18, 2014 to my list of important dates. I am incredibly excited for December 14 and hopefully won't have a final on that day!
I'm really looking forward to Iron Man 3!
I was really curious about what they were going to do with it since it would be the first post-Avengers film. And I must say the trailer blew me away. I really hope that the film is as good as the trailer is.
Fingers crossed
One movie that really has captured my eye is a biblical epic film, "Noah."
It stars Russell Crowe as Noah and Emma Watson as Noah's daughter, so there's some serious A-list actors in this flick.
At first glance it seems like the plot must be a satire of terrible Hollywood adaptions, but it is legitimate.
"Subject to divine visions foretelling the end of the world, Noah attempts to tell his people to cease their mistreatment of the earth in order to be saved. No one listens to his warnings, and Noah and his family are cast out to fend for themselves in the wilderness. Noah approaches a race of giant six-armed angels known as "Watchers" to rally them to his cause."
Consider me interested! Not because I think this'll be an amazing film, but I'm curious as to what the heck they're doing.
