Watching football playoffs this afternoon, I've seen quite a few previews for The Book of Eli. I've never been disappointed with Denzel Washington and the previews do catch my attention. That comes out Friday and may be of interest.
I'm also wanting to catch Percy Jackson: Lightning Thief.
This summer movie list could be rough due to lack of transportation (I don't drive and will be 30 miles from the nearest theater). So Prince of Persia, Robin Hood, and Iron Man 2 (I still need to see all of 1) will be unlikely. The real big one for this year though is VDT.
Be watching for the release of my spiritual warfare novel under a new title: "Call to Arms" by OakTara Publishing. A sequel (title TBD) will shortly follow.
I'd not heard of The Perfect Game (its trailer wasn't in front of Avatar when I viewed it), but it sounds like it has potential. And 1957 was an auspicious year for me.
With one exception (Shrek Forever After), the movie trailers in front of Avatar here were action-adventure-type films: Prince of Persia, Clash of the Titans, The Lightning Thief, and something called Knight and Day (with Cameron Diaz and Tom Cruise). All of them, except the last, seem a little intriguing and I may see one or more of them.
The films I most anticipate this year, at the moment, are VDT (naturally ) and The Last Airbender - M. Night Shyamalan's live-action adaptation of the animated Avatar: The Last Airbender - a name similarity which has caused some confusion between that series and Cameron's current blockbuster.
But all night, Aslan and the Moon gazed upon each other with joyful and unblinking eyes.
on Jan. 22, 2010, there is a movie coming out called "Extraordinary Measures" starring Brendan Fraser! I am looking forward to it and I hope to see it when it comes out!

Toy Story 3
Robin Hood
Voyage of the Dawn Treader
2011-
The Hobbit Pt. 1
Pirates of the Carribean 4
2012-
The Hobbit Pt. 2
All these I'd say I'm interested in too, except PotC 4. I probably wouldn't watch Toy Story 3 or Robin Hood in theaters, and watching Robin Hood would depend on how clean it is probably.
This week I believe "Hoodwinked 2" is coming out... Which I'm looking forward to. Don't know if we'll go watch it in theaters, but... yeah.
Anyone else looking forward to that?

There's a second Hoodwinked coming out? What's the basic plot? The first one was decent, but — due to the format the story was told in — loses re-watch value very quickly.

looking forward to when it releases on DVD. I know it was once slated to release this week, but it has since been pushed back and an actual date has not been given.
On other news, upsetting news.
Spider Man 4 is officially not going to get made. Sony wanted a 2011 release date, which isn't really possible anymore. Sam Raimi asked for an extension until 2012, the studio wouldn't comply and so he left the project.
After that, Sony decided to reboot the franchise, with new director and new cast.
I honestly don't think we need a reboot anytime soon, the first two were great and the third wasn't totally bad either, I enjoyed it. (it's not like Lee's Hulk where the majority hated it).
I can't believe they're actually going to reboot. I'd rather them not make another movie than reboot. It'd be like rebooting the X-Men franchise, why bother? All they can do is go over territory we've already seen. If they're going to reboot something, reboot the Fantastic Four series. That last one was awful.
I'm not necessarily opposed to a reboot. The movies were my first experience with Spiderman, and I liked them at first, but after reading a handful of the comics and seeing The Spectacular Spiderman tv show, I felt robbed. I think there's a lot more potential in Spiderman than the three movies so far have taken advantage of. Then again, the new movies could be worse.
Mark my words, someday I will think of something brilliant to put in my sig.
< would be me when I heard about the reboot. Boooooooo! I don't like reboots, especially since the most recent Spiderman just came out a few years ago and the first Spiderman movie was what, 2001? That's too soon to completely wipe the slate and start over. Let the dust settle on the poor thing, at least.
Reboots aren't always a bad thing. The Batman franchise was completely revitalized with Batman Begins in 2005, and I think the James Bond franchise also took a turn for the better with Casino Royale.
The script for the reboot has been written by James Vanderbilt, who wrote Zodiac, which was nominated for a WGA award and several others in 2007. It's supposed to be a "darker, grittier" version than what we saw with Sam Raimi's Spider-Man films, so it sounds to me like they are trying to take the Batman/Bond reboot route (which doesn't bother me at all.)
A reboot of Spider-Man? Hmm, this could be good or it could be pretty dumb. Really, the only film from Sam Raimi's trilogy that was any good was Spider-Man 2. The others were O.K or just bad.
If they take the film in the direction of say, Batman Begins or Iron Man then I think it will be a really good change. Anyway, maybe they'll give the bad guys more screen time and throw away the constant break-up/make-up of the Peter and MJ relationship.....
*Note: I am not in anyway a "Superhero fan". I've never read a comic book and have only seen a few superhero films. Just wanted to clarify that.

Yet another one I want to see! I was impressed with Brendan Fraser in Inkheart and Journey to the Center of the Earth, and of course I love Harrison Ford for Star Wars and Indiana Jones.
