I am really seriously looking forward to the new Sherlock Holmes coming out in Dec, the first one was awesome, I just hope they don't make it stupid like most sequels are
Personally, I much preferred the mini-series to the most recent movie. I mean it looked visually impressive but it seemed very American in other ways. Jude Law was very good as Watson though.

It suprises me that some of you like Cars 2 so much. In my opinion, it was Pixar's first bad film. The rest of their movies are near masterpieces (except fot the first Cars which was good but not great). Cars 2 seemed like something dreamworks would make or more accurately, Disney. (From what I've heard, Cars 2 was mostly Disney's idea.)

I prefered the BBC mini-series to the movie as well, but I thought the RDJ movie was decent. I thought they did a good job of keeping some of the spirit of the books, while slightly a Americanizing it. I thought, the most recent trailer looks like it will be an improvement from the first as well.
The upcomming movies I'm looking most forward to are The Adventures of Tintin and Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy . The latter has an extremely strong cast including Gary Oldman, Colin Firth, and Benedict Cumberbatch.
Yes, that's true. The upcoming Sherlock Holmes movie looks a lot better than the first.
The Adventures of Tintin also has a very strong cast (but you don't see them, just their movements).

That's interesting, I thought it looked like the kind of overblown nonsense most sequels are
The Tin Tin movie looks interesting(How can you go wrong with PJ ) not very familiar with it but wouldn't mind seeing it.

I agree with you here... I watched Cars 2 for the first time last week and found it formulaic, boring, and forgettable. Even the other Pixar films that I've disliked quite a bit (like Up and Toy Story 3) I fully admit that the creativity and master storytelling were there, they just weren't my cup of tea. But Cars 2 had nothing in it that held my attention.
The rest of their movies are near masterpieces (except fot the first Cars which was good but not great).
This is the part where I stop agreeing with you. Cars is in my top three favorite Pixar films along with The Incredibles and Wall-E.
As the last three Pixar films have been misses for me personally, I'm afraid I'm losing faith a bit with the company. But I am still optimistic for Brave next year as it's the first one that's piqued my interest in a while. My one big concern is that it's reminding me a bit too much of How to Train Your Dragon (Craig Ferguson's voice isn't helping). So we shall see...
Wow, FK; I find it amusing how our opinions about Pixar couldn't be more different. Up and Toy Story 3 are my very favorite's of theirs, I think Cars 2 was by FAR better than the first, and I wasn't a huge fan of The Incredibles and Walle. xD
But oh, about Brave - I've said that exact thing, it's too much like How To Train Your Dragon. Pixar is more whimsical and sweet - though I did like HTTYD. I just don't want it to be like that.

I saw some sort of trailer for Sherlock Holmes 2 on TV recently. I actually thought it looked even worse and more American than the first; explosions and yet more hand-to-hand fighting.
When they did the trailer for the first Sherlock Holmes it looked like it would be tawdry and cheap and filled with that kind of thing. And yet the movie was really fun and didn't really resemble its trailer. I'm wondering if this is more of the same.

Bookwyrm, Sherlock knew a good bit of boxing in the books, so it's not against the canon to have hand-to-hand fighting. As for the explosions, I agree that there is such a thing as too many of them. That said, it's not the action that interests me in that trailer, it's the character moments (and the story looks more interesting than the first). I don't know about you, but the cult stories in the books always bored me or went a bit too deep into the occult for my liking.

Saw a trailer today for Journey 2: The Mysterious Island, which appears to be some sort of "family" adventure film. It looked completely cheesy. Sad to see Walden is one of the production companies involved along with New Line. Reminded me of Land of the Lost on TV.
Looking forward to War Horse. The trailer for Tintin looked really interesting. Am not familiar with the books, I'm afraid.

Well... Walden Media did have a success with Journey to the Center of the Earth. I'm not surprised they went ahead with a second installment. Although I want to see Journey 2, I will agree it doesn't look as good as the original.
Well, now that I found out that they were even making one (thanks to you guys!) I watched the Journey 2 trailer. What a let down, in more ways than one.
1. It seemed to much like the first one. The lines and story was too similar.
"Ladies & Gentleman, I give you..."
&
*in an uber dramatic voice* "We only have 4 hours to get of here or...POOF!"
(okay, maybe those weren't the exact words, but still, you get the general idea)
Considering I just re-watched the movie about a month or so ago, it was still pretty fresh in my mind.
2. What was with the girl's outfit? And that end bit about attracting a female? Yikes, um nope, won't be watching this...
On a side note, wow, Josh What's-his-name looks SO much OLDER!
And I was very upset that the other What's-his-name wasn't in this one, you know the George of the Jungle dude. (Sorry - I'm having a brain fry right now)

The George of the Jungle dude would be Brendan Fraser. I never saw the first Journey film.

War horse Looks great. I can't wait!
I watched the second brave trailer and it doesn't look that good. Another let down
