I just saw the trailer for Conan the Barbarian. I thought the effects looked pretty amazing. What does everyone hear think/know about the movie?

It has Jason Momoa in it, who I like, but it looks like Clash of the Titans Redux to me.
I can't find much information on the upcoming movie "Journey 2: The Mysterious Island"! does anyone have anything on it?
and I can't find...release date either
Since February IMDb has stated it's in post production.
It was originally set for September 2011. But late last year, I believe, it was removed from that date and not until today do we have a new set date for release. Box Office Mojo is reporting January 27, 2012.
That's an interesting date. The first released in July 2008, despite opening in the low $20M, it went on to gross just over $100M thanks to 3D and good holds. Is January the death of the sequel? Or are they trying to open it against little to no competition for more impressive run? (Only One For the Money, with Katherine Heigl is set for that date with it).
EDIT:
The Hunger Games.
has it been mentioned that Cato and Clove have been cast?
Cato will be played by Alexander Ludwig. I like him.
Clove will be played by Isabelle Fuhrman. Never seen anything of hers.
I've never heard of any of those actors playing Cato and Clove... Clove fits how I pictured her, but somehow I never took him seriously (even though his character is insane and should be taken a little more seriously than I did) because of the old Peter Sellers' Pink Panther character Cato (the part I'm refering to comes in at about 30seconds)...

Great snakes! The first Tintin posters have been revealed, as has the teaser trailer for the movie. I love what I'm seeing already! Enjoy.

I was intrigued by the trailer, but the animation was a little weird, almost too lifelike. It was a little creepy.
Woaaaaah, that was really cool!.... And yeah lifelike too! It looks a lot more serious than the comics though.... Oh well I can't wait to see more stuff slowly come out
Quick question about the new X-men movie coming out, it's taking place in the 60's right? (cuz the trailer has what looks like cuban missile crisis stuff in it) Does that before all of the other X-men movies or somewhere wedged between them??? Cuz I want to start watching the movies but I'm not sure if I should wait for the movie to come out or watch the older ones first.

Theoretically First Class is a prequel to the X-Men trilogy and the Wolverine movie, but the director has stated they weren't terribly concerned with maintaining continuity. Though the only real problems in continuity are between it and the Wolverine movie, which happens in the 70s. I'd only skip watching the trilogy before First Class comes out if you don't want to know who ends up becoming villains.

I'm pretty sure that's because it was MoCap. Motion Capture was used in A Christmas Carol too, as well as Polar Express, I believe. Gollum in LOTR, as well as King Kong, were also motion capture creations. Every movement is done by an actor, instead of just computer. It's an interesting way of doing animation.

I'm really looking forward to Tin-Tin! Maybe I'll get to see it in theatres: Christmas break is over in mid-January and I'll be back at college.
I'm also looking forward to Pirates of the Caribbean 4. I just watched the first 3 while at college and really enjoyed them. I was hoping to see POTC4 in theatres but it's not out yet and I'm already home from college.
Yeah well the animation was interesting. Actually, I think I would nearly prefer Tin-tin with real actors but that's just me. Still, it looks like it could be a good flick
Do you love "The Highwayman" by Alfred Noyes?
If so you might like to see my sister's dramatization of this poem through her photography!

Fantastic to finally see some more stuff from the new Tintin movie! There were actually 2 different trailers. Here's a link to an international version of the trailer which includes some different lines and a few additional shots.
The new posters are awesome. Watching the trailers, however, I felt like the visuals were really hit-and-miss. Some shots looked fantastic such as Tintin and Snowy walking down the street, while others, such as the airplane crashing and the ship cresting the wave, looked pretty bad.
Those posters are unbelievable!

Thanks! But the only difference I noticed was the final line - in the international it's something like

I agree. But this is just the first trailer. I'm sure things'll be tightened up before the release.
And speaking of ships - remember those horrible shots of the Dawn Treader sailing we got in the first couple trailers? So don't worry!

It's great to see the Tintin fans come out of the wood-work!
Adeona, actually the International movie trailer has a beginning shot with Tintin and Snowy exiting his apartment. There are a few other differences. I think I prefer the international teaser (except for the dumb gangster's voice at the end).
Minotaur, true, the animation looks a little creepy but I'm still looking forward to it. As for the sea-plane crashing into the sand-dune and the ship cresting the wave, I don't think those scenes have been completed yet.
Outlier, I don't think it'll be more serious than the original comics. I'm not sure why people say that. Tintin beats up the bad guys and sports a gun in many of the books. I'm interested in how they'll deal with Captain Haddock alcoholism. If they leave it out, I'll be disappointed. I'm thinking the Tintin movie will be given a PG rating, probably for 'moderate violence and themes'.
