Liam I saw in The Last Song and I think he could pull off the tough guy attitude, I'm very excited for him!

Hmmm. I don't really see Gale as a "tough guy" per se. I think he's more of the strong, silent type who is just trying to protect the people he loves and to stay alive. But I've always liked Gale more than most Hunger Games fans. I hope that Helmsworth will play him as more than just a "tough guy" because that would severely diminish his complex character.

Kate, I understand what you mean, I think its time I re- read the series (:

I guess I always saw him as a tough guy just in me head- like how he looks in my head. But the layers belonging to Gale's character, I think Liam will be able to portray well

I'm glad that you have confidence in him. That makes me more hopeful. I hope you're right. ;)

I think you should, W4J. :) They're classified as Young Adult but I found them incredibly riveting and appealing to adults as well. They also deal with a lot of relevant themes, especially the last book. I've found some incredibly deep discussion revolving around the books on blogs...definitely changed my perspective of the books.

Anyway, I recommend them highly. :)

Gymfan, thanks for the recommendation! I have no problem with reading Young Adult Fiction as long as it's well-written. I've found many great books in that demographic.

Now, don't come here and blame me if you read the books and find them different. ;)) My sister is in the middle of reading them and she's not finding them quite as good as me. Different people, I guess. But I would definitely recommend giving them a try, and then letting me know what your thoughts were...the last book especially seems to be pretty polarizing, and I'm interested in discussing it.

Sorry; thought this was the Book thread. ;) Carry on, film folksies!

I'm starting to rethink my thoughts about Josh Hutcherson as Peeta, though I didn't like the thought at first- it's starting to grow on me. He can do a very good job at it. :)

So it looks like Disney is trying to make a "Miss Marple" movie, starring Jennifer Garner.

Jennifer Garner.

Fortunately, it looks like it hasn't been quite set in stone.

I never liked Miss Marple. I much preferred Hercule Poirot. But Jennifer Garner? Really? She's much too young for the role. Miscasting if ever there was any.

Oh Disney. You do know how to make a guy laugh. ;))

If they want to use a well-known actress in the role of Miss Marple, they should get Helen Mirren. She's old enough, a great actress, and has name recognition. Oh and she's actually British. :P But I suppose this will be the sexy new version of Miss Marple with bikinis, love interests, and gun fights. :P

Agreed! Poirot is the best :-). A very excellent TV series, with only a few low points. And I think they recently made Murder On The Orient Express, the most famous Poirot novel. I think, but am not sure, if it is the last they've made in the Poirot series, but I do know they didn't have many left to make.

According to ComingSoon.net The Tintin sequel to be directed by Peter Jackson will be titled Prisoners of the Sun.
Like the first film: The Secret of the Unicorn, which is a combination of both the The Secret of the Unicorn and Red Rackham's Treasure.
The Tintin sequel will combined Prisoners of the Sun and The Seven Crystal Balls. :)

"Jackson listed the books as among his favorite when he spoke to ComingSoon.net nearly two years ago:

"I've got several favorite stories," he said, "I like 'Seven Crystal Balls' and 'Prisoners of the Sun.' I like 'The Black Island.' I like 'The Calculus Affair'...the moon one would be great to do as a third or fourth one."

Yes, I heard this news! Awesome. The Seven Crystal Balls and Prisoners of the Sun stories are brilliant fun and rather creepy at times. Hopefully there's something more solid soon.
