^^ *GASP* The trailer to Cars 2 is out? I think I remember hearing something about the trailer coming out, but I never got the chance to see it. Does someone have a link to it?

It doesn't look like it will be a masterpiece, but I think it should be a fun movie. I loved the way the cars had to take off their tires to get through airport security.
Mark my words, someday I will think of something brilliant to put in my sig.
For me, the Cars 2 trailer was a big disappointment. I dislike dumb cheesy narrator lines like "They're out to save the world!" They showcased chase scenes, cars with big guns, explosions...the thing that made the original Cars great was the character development, not the action.
Hopefully the final movie will be great, though, as trailers are misleading...
I saw it when I was watching Toy Story 3. Great movie! (But a topic for the other movie thread )
Oh, that sounds funny- had to take their tires off at the airport.
Man, I may be going to the theater alot in a semi-short amount of time!
Hopefully I'll see Voyage again, then Cars 2 and The Hobbit... (We like never go to the movies...until now!!...maybe)

I've found that Disney trailers ALWAYS tend to make their movies out to be more slapstick and popcorn than they actually are. I mean, look at the trailer for TS3...it was more about the gags and "flashy" scenes, and barely touched on the actual heart of the film, which was about growing up, moving on, etc..
Oh, and don't even get me started on Tangled. Tangled's trailers made it look SO dumb and "average", but the actual movie was so much more carefully crafted and unique. Again, did the trailer really portray that correctly? Not by a long shot.
I highly doubt that Cars 2's entire plot is going to be about saving the world. Leave it to Pixar; they generally know what they're doing. I'm pretty sure that the whole action plot is just part of a greater plot that is as Pixar-y as you can want.

Well, darn it...I turned down a chance to see Tangled because the trailers looked so awful. Thanks for the encouraging words, though, about Cars 2.
Yeah, the trailers for Tangled really didn't do it justice at all. I would have given up hope on that film months ago if I hadn't read on a blog that the "modern" aspect to it was just marketing and that the film was nothing like that. And it's not...it's really sweet, unique, and just beautiful...the setting gave me vibes of BatB.
So, anyway, enough about that, this thread is for Future movies. Leave it to the mod to go off topic.
So, yo...um...Spiderman reboot?
How about Emma Stone as Gwen Stacey? I've seen her in her new blond locks and she looks pretty good...what is it with Hollywood casting famous red-heads as Gwen? First Bryce, and now Emma. Anyway, she looks good.
I have to wonder, though, when/where/how Mary Jane will come into all this. I've been told that the first film is returning to the comic book roots where Gwen Stacey was Peter's first love, and that he didn't hook up with MJ until after
I'm cautiously optimistic about the Spider-Man reboot. I've heard it described as "dark and gritty" which makes me nervous, but at least they haven't done anything crazy like making Paperdoll the main villain and bringing Gwen Stacy in as Peter's first love is a great move. I'm hoping for the
I'm very excited about this film. Andrew Garfield is an excellent actor and should bring a lot to the role of Peter Parker. Emma Stone is also very talented, and I'm looking forward to seeing her in something that's not a comedy. Webb is a very good director, and has also brought in a great group of supporting actors, with Martin Sheen, Sally Field, Rhys Ifans, and Denis Leary rounding out the supporting cast. As for Gwen Stacy, Stone revealed in an interview last week that
I have mixed feelings for two reasons.
1) I'm in Narnia-mode right now, not LotR mode. (Though I'm sure that will change when I'm in the Hobbit theater. )
2) Will it be as good as LotR? It's so much simpler...will Bilbo be as good a hero as Frodo?
But I'm glad Gollum and the ring will be back. Can't wait until "Riddles in the Dark"!
Ok, now I AM getting excited!
I got to see VDT finally, so now I can switch to LOTR mode.
I think The Hobbit will be great. For one thing, in the books, I always thought Bilbo was a much better hero than Frodo anyway.
I am so looking forward to the Riddles in the Dark scene. They had better confirm Andy Serkis soon. I heard he wasn't confirmed yet. That would be terrible if he couldn't do it.
Andy Serkis and Martin Freeman are my two favorite actors. So, to see them in a scene together (even though one is only seen through motion capture) would be such an amazing thing for me.

I just finished watching a bunch of trailers on youtube for 2011.... and I think the only movies I care for so far are superhero movies... and Ben Barnes' Killing Bono...
Cars 2 doesn't really seem that interesting to me. The trailer seems kinda hokey... I never really got into the first movie anyways because it seemed like it wasn't really "my audience" and more aimed towards young boys who just started collecting hot wheels
And as for The Hobbit, I haven't stayed that updated with it yet, other than the fact that I'm excited

I really enjoy superhero movies, and I was greatly looking forward to the next installments to the future Avengers movie. (Thor and Captain America). Yet I wasn't impressed by Thor trailer, I don't think Captain has one just yet. Neither is up in my must see list, unfortunately. The Green Hornet is an immediate pass for me, don't need it. The Green Lantern had me until the trailer came out. Lost interest here as well.
Cars 2, like most Pixar, deserves the benefit of the doubt IMO. But then you never did get into the first one, so I can see the loss of appeal on this one too. Though I wouldn't call the original aimed towards boys who just started collecting... Sure, it's it's true, it is aimed more at boys but the movie has a very nice lesson in there that can translate for anyone of any age.

Yeah I enjoy the superhero movies, even though I've never read any of the comics or anything like that... Thor trailer looks good, but could be better. It has me curious about what else happens... Green Hornet looks funny and cool, plus, I think Seth Rogen is halarious but I'm not sure if that's really where the story should be... and I think I'll Green Lantern but I'm tired of all it's hype just beacause Ryan Reynolds is considered People's sexiest man and that's why lots of females will be going (and cuz he's single now)... and I have no clue what's going on with Captain America and the Avengers other than knowing that they're going to be movies
As for Cars 2 I think that Pixar always does a good job, especially in animation (well, they are an animation studio). No doubt in that, but I'm not so sure about the plot...
Hey what are people's thoughts about Beastly? I think it screams chicflic

Pixar's trailers have never been all that great but the movies are generally very good. I even enjoyed Cars, although it's not one of my favourites. Cars 2 could swing either way (be good or bad) but I'm liking the over-the-top James Bond-type action. As long as there's still a good amount of character development and a decent story - I think there's a chance I will enjoy it.

Anyone else looking forward to Sofia Coppola's new film, Somewhere? I'm quite excited to see it as I really like two of her previous ones (Virgin Suicides and Marie Antoinette). Elle Fanning looks quite promising!

is this gonna be a biopic of C.S Lewis? I'm intrigued...
