VERY much so, sillygoose! And you must also check out The Lantern Bearers and Frontier Wolf by the same author.
And don't worry, I'm not the only NWebber who recommends these! I know of several others who like these. Rosemary Sutcliff's works are sadly under-read these days, though.
To keep on our movie topic, I have to agree about the actors' looks. Though they don't look like I imagined from reading the books (that's seldom true anyways!) they are pretty handsome! Heh, catch me admitting that in front of my sisters, though!

The Value of myth is that it takes all the things you know and restores to them the rich significance which has been hidden by the veil of familiarity. C.S. Lewis
Suckerpunch ... 3. Jane Eyre
4. The Nutcracker ... 5. Wuthering Heights ... 6. Pirates of the Caribbean 4
8. Sherlock Holmes 2 ... 9. The Hobbit
11. The Adventures of Tintin ...
13. Red Riding Hood ... (I don't know if this will be awful or fascinating. It looks visually perfect, but I don't really like the main actress much, so I'm not sure).
21. Arabian Nights
22. Romeo and Juliet ...
23. Narnia 4: The Silver Chair ...
24. Spider-Man (Remake) (Only cause Andrew Garfield's in it. I'm not a big fan of Emma Stone hwever)
30. Snow White and the Huntsman
39. The Great Gatsby (since Carey Mulligan is set to play the main female role!)
40. Indiana Jones 5 ... (will it be horribly cheesy? yes. Will I be able to resist it? Nope!)
67. The Brothers grimm: Snow White ... (if this has anything to do with the "Brothers Grimm" movie, then no, but if not...maybe?)
68. Eloise in Paris ...
83. A Series of Unfortunate Events 2 ... 84. The Sims
94. Pride and Prejudice and Zombies ...
THose are just ones that either I'm pretty interested in.
Right now I'm looking forward to True Grit, and Somewhere.

They're making a movie for the sims?! How would they do that?

Pride & Prejudice Zombies That'll be a hoot. The book is supposed to be good (the uh...zombified version) but I haven't read it. I'm told it's essentially P&P using Austen's own stuff and the author just worked in zombie stuff. Much needed, if you ask me.
I'm kind of looking forward to Cowboys and Aliens due out sometime next year, I think. I don't like Westerns, but as I said in another thread when Westerns and Sci-Fi are combined it makes for a magical experience.

Sorry for so many links! But I didn't want to have to type out all the title, plus this way you can just click and get all the info on them.

A movie that is coming at with Tron is one I do not expect to do well at all: Yogi Bear. The previews have horrible written all over it. I only expect Tron to give VDT any box office competition.
Be watching for the release of my spiritual warfare novel under a new title: "Call to Arms" by OakTara Publishing. A sequel (title TBD) will shortly follow.
Yogi Bear....yuck. What about the Smurfs?
The glory of God is man fully alive--St. Iraneus
Salvation is a fire in the midnight of the soul-Switchfoot
The Smurfs don't come out till January, I think, and their just as horrendous looking as Yogi Bear
The Smurfs don't come out till January, I think
August 3, 2011. It releases.
Whew.....
A long time till the Smurfs, then.
And I won't mind in the least.
Please, Smurfs are much better than Yogi Bear in 3D (that movie looks terrible).
Currently watching:
Doctor Who - Season 11
Yeah, I'm looking forward to Cowboys & Aliens too. I'm wondering how seriously it'll take itself? I'm sorry, but there's no way it'll work if it's done seriously, especially with that title. If they went for tongue-in-cheek, goofy fun, I think it'll be fantastic.
Smurfs and Yogi were not particularly favorites when I was a kid, so I won't shed any tears should they flop. Instead I'll point to this upcoming Japanese film feature about one of my all time favorite cartoons:

Wave. Motion. Gun.
Nuff' said.
Booky, I know Spielberg's star is probably dimming but I think he could pull Cowboys & Aliens off if it's made in a pulp comics fashion like what they had in the 40's and 50's.

Well it has arrived...the new Pirates trailer is out!
(Don't let the beginning fool you; it has an intro by Jack but the trailer is there).
So, what do you think? I don't know what kind of a film critic that makes me, but I think it's kind of epically awesome. I'll definitely be catching this one in theaters, even if it's JUST for Penelope Cruz.
