Is anyone else somewhat interested in The King's Speech, the upcoming drama starring Colin Firth, Helena Bonham-Carter, and Geoffrey Rush? The trailer (which you can watch here) isn't making me jump up and down, but the cast is fabulous
I've been hearing about this for a long time now, and the Oscar hopes for it. But not until last night did I see the trailer- and well... I think it looks fantastic. One I will definitely watch. I don't know anything about the story, but I am now intrigued to learn more about it (when I see the movie itself).
Ly: I agree. It looks very well done, very well acted, but the plot looks less than thrilling. It has potential though. Poor Colin Firth never gets to smile.
Interesting news for those who played Myst and its sequels ...

I've been following the "Mysteria Film Group"'s updates for a while now. They are not planning on adapting the games themselves to film, but one of the books that provided some back story for the games (specifically, the book The Book of Ti'ana). They don't have a production company interested yet, but they're still looking.
And for those of you who don't know about, or aren't interested in Myst may be interested to know that Mark Johnson has partnered with the "Mysteria Film Group" to get it made as a film. Which is what the above article is about.

The Value of myth is that it takes all the things you know and restores to them the rich significance which has been hidden by the veil of familiarity. C.S. Lewis
I want to rejoice, I really do- but I am going to be cautious. There are still a few hurdles to cross before then. I do hope it's set to go though. Not until I see "filming has begun" will I rejoice.
on other news:
Vanessa Hudgens is rumored to be in Journey 2, alongside Josh Hutcherson-Dwayne Johnson-Michael Caine. I'm not thrilled about this. Another thing I noticed with the movie, according to Box Office Mojo release schedule:
It was originally set for Sep 2011, but now it is TBD- no date currently set for it.
7chronicles, WOOHOO! I'm so excited to hear that! The Hobbit was my first real exposure to Tolkien's work. My dad read it to me when I was 8 or 9, and I read it again a few years later. It's still one of my favorites. Hopefully they keep the movie faithful! *crosses fingers*

Ditto narnian1, but I can’t help but be excited!
Also My Favorite PlayStation 3 game, Uncharted: Drakes Fortune is being made into a movie!
I’m really hoping that they do the movie right, but considering how past movies based on Video Games (Prince of Persia was great though) have not been that great, I’m not holding my breath yet.
For those you don’t know about the video game (it is more like movie then a game, that’s how good it is )
It follows the adventures of modern treasure hunter Nathan Drake as he seeks the lost treasure of El Dorado, with the help of friend Victor "Sully" Sullivan and journalist Elena Fisher.
The game is full of twists and has an awesome plot (I won’t give anything away) and story!
The characters and story are what makes the game so great!
Uncharted 2: Among Thieves was released last year, that is my favorite game ever!
So if this movie does well you can expect a sequel no doubt.
David O. Russell is set to direct the film.
By the Way, does anyone else play Uncharted: Drakes Fortune or Uncharted 2: Among Thieves?
Here is the link if anyone is interested:

Am I the only one who saw that Zach Snyder has been picked as the director for the new Superman movie? Not sure what to think about that. Endless slow-mo fight scenes with Lex Luthor will probably feature.
I'm so glad The Hobbit movie was finally greenlit!
Today Simon Pegg said that Martin Freeman got the role of Bilbo. I hope it's true, and that Peter Jackson confirms it soon. You can read the interview here -- http://www.guardian.co.uk/culture/2010/ ... -interview (It's second paragraph from the bottom)
There are so many good movies coming... The Hobbit, Sherlock Holmes 2, Pirates of the Caribbean 4, National Treasure 3... I can't wait!

Superman Returns was so LAME, I don't think I would care for another one.
And YES The Hobbit with Peter Jackson! A dream come true. I have never seen Martin Freeman in a movie, what movies does he act in?
I have never seen Martin Freeman in a movie, what movies does he act in?
I know him mostly from The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy (see signature), but I hear he's also on Love Actually, the British version of The Office, and the show Sherlock (which is what's causing his conflict in schedule).

So I just realized I'm leaving for college on January 17th and VoDT opens on the 10th. Does anyone know how long VoDT will be in theaters? Or does it depend on how well it's doing? Or what? I've only been to a theater once so I don't know much about them. However, if VoDT is in theatres for a month and a week, I'll be able to see it in theatres.
The Hobbit cast announced!!!!!!

Peter Jackson had this to say about casting Martin Freeman:
"Despite the various rumors and speculation surrounding this role, there has only ever been one Bilbo Baggins for us," says Peter Jackson. "There are a few times in your career when you come across an actor who you know was born to play a role, but that was the case as soon as I met Martin. He is intelligent, funny, surprising and brave - exactly like Bilbo and I feel incredibly proud to be able to announce that he is our Hobbit."
I'm sooooooooooooooooooo excited!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I am, like, SCREAMINGLY HAPPY right now! I think a lot of people are! Martin Freeman is so perfect for the part!
theonering.net actually broke down, the traffic is so busy there. This is even more exciting news than when the movie was greenlit!!!
~Riella
I haven't seen anything that Martin Freeman has been in, but I have to say I am happy simply because he bears a physical resemblance to the gentleman who played Bilbo in the LotR trilogy. Score for that!
And I'm kind of gigglilishly happy about Richard Armitage, lol. I see him as many things, but Thorin? THis will be interesting!
