Looking at the trailers for the "winter blockbusters," I don't think this one is quite as good as Harry Potter, but blows the VDT trailer out of the water...

bkey, I'm actually not impressed by that Tron Legacy trailer. I still think I might check the movie out, but because of earlier trailers.

Walt Disney Studios ended the TRON panel with a surprise: the logo of Disneyland's Haunted Mansion ride! The green drawing of a ghost was shown along with some of the spiel from the ride. The audience is asked who it thinks the perfect director would be. Crowd yells out “Tim Burton,” but goes crazy when Guillermo Del Toro comes out! .... and notes he always felt there were more story possibilities than just a horror movie. That said, “the scary will be scary. We're being true to the spirit of the original Imagineers... We are not returning Eddie Murphy's call.” It will be shot in 3D, live-action, and the Hatbox Ghost is the pivotal character.

Also there was a video of POTC 4, which has been posted on the net, not sure if it's legal so I won't post link. Depp is talking, as Sparrow, and mentioned the fountain of youth and mermaids we already know- but he also mentioned zombies which I don't understand how it will fit with the story

I saw the Tron trailer before Inception today. I thought it actually looked good and I'm kind of interested in the movie now.

Just came across a story about the Captain America movie. Apparently they've decided that the costume's so stupid looking they have to explain it by making Cap a USO performer instead of fighting in the war. Apparently the military brass decides he's so valuable he can't actually be used. I think that passes up even the leaked VDT script for asinine plot changes. I've lost pretty much all interest in seeing the Captain America movie now.

forced into USO service doesn't seem so ridiculous if you think about it. The military would want an army of Super-Soldiers, not just one. And they would need Steve Rogers alive and safe to figure out how to make more, because obviously they don't really know why HE works and why the rest of their Super-Soldier program is a failure .

As to the second article, that kind of makes sense too, considering they want the Captain America film to be a success globally.

"The costume is a flag, but the way we're getting around that is we have Steve Rogers forced into the USO circuit. After he's made into this super-soldier, they decide they can't send him into combat and risk him getting killed. He's the only one and they can't make more. So they say, 'You're going to be in this USO show' and they give him a flag suit. He can't wait to get out of it."

Works for me, I wouldn't like him to be a walking flag either, works on comics but not live-action feature. At least they have it for a little before he gets out of it. Something like in Hulk, when Bruce is offered the purple stretchy shorts/pants, a salute to the comic without actually having to endure it throughout the movie.

Last night i found out that my favorite Vampire book series 'Vampire Academy' is being turned into a movie. I seriously hoped Hollywood would leave these books alone because they are so good and I hate to see them turn into this new Twilight fad. I seriously can not wait to see it as a film but i hope it is dealt with carefully.

Anyone here interested in the movie called Flipped? Based on a book of the same name, which I haven't read, but the previews look very good. Movie releases on august 6, limited, and hoped to go wide on the 27th.

There's another Tron Legacy trailer out now. I'm sure hoping they don't turn this into the Matrix. Getting a bit nervous...
