I've heard that in involves the Fountain of Youth and somehow they end up in New Orleans. I was excited about that part, since it could mean they might involve Louisiana's legendary pirate, Jean Lafitte, but the time frame is wrong. If I'm not mistaken, PotC is Pre-Revolution and Lafitte was running around in the early 19th century.

Actually, not to be a bearer of bad news, but after Disney's CEO Dick Cook was fired earlier this month, the future of Pirates 4 is apparently up in the air, even though a title was announced.

I'm so excited ... the Glorious 39 trailer finally came out! Now the movie just has to make it to America. (Note: the following trailer includes a short clip of slight nudity/sexuality. Not sure if anyone would be offended by naked shoulders, but I thought it might be good to check. ;)) )

I saw the Glorious 39 trailer a few days ago, and it looks like a fascinating film! The amount of talent alone is insane: Romola Garai, Jeremy Northam, David Tennant, Christopher Lee, Julie Christie... :D And set in one of my favorite historical time periods! I think I probably will have to see it, although the "adult situations" are troubling. :(

There's no actual American release date as of yet, right?

Has no one else mentioned the upcoming Robin Hood movie? My brother's been keeping us updated on the progress since the spring. ~Scarlet

Oh yeah! I've been looking up it's progress every now and then. (Being the Robin Hood fan that I am! :p ) I'm not sure what to expect though. Sometimes modern movies just don't get it right....Also, this may sound a bit dumb but what on earth do they mean by a "futuristic" Robin Hood? I was looking it up on imdb and it said that a number of times. I was quite confused. :-

Movies I'm looking forward to include:

~The Voyage of the Dawn Treader (obviously! :p )
~The Adventures of Tintin: The Secret of the Unicorn (I've been waiting for something like this ever since I first read the comics! :D )
~The Hobbit (It's my favorite book!)
~Jonny Quest (As far as I know, there's no release date because it's still in the first stages of production.)

And more which I can't currently think of right now...

Great snakes Snowy, another Tintin fan! ;)

Oh dear guys, it looks like The Hobbit could be in real danger of not being made.

Nope, they have to find a distributor. Hopefully some American studio will pick it up soon! And as for the "adult situations," are you just going off the trailer or have you read up more on the content? I'm hoping it's just one scene and that it doesn't get any worse than what we've seen.

On another note, I don't mean to sound cold-hearted, but ... maybe now we can have a single Hobbit film, instead of two. :p

Does anyone know what the story-line for Pirates 4 is?

Does anyone know what the storylines for the last two were? :))

The Hobbit will be made eventually. There's too much interest and box-office potential for it to lag forever. SOMEONE will make it. *has faith*

No worries about The Hobbit. MGM announced today that it will still be producing it/them for 2011/2012 releases.

=)) =))

I have to admit I would not be at all displeased if PotC 4 didn't get made; two was okay, three was terrible and I can only imagine it getting worse. I think it's best to let that franchise go.

Good to here The Hobbit is still on. :D

Uhh, lets see.... *thinks* It had something to do with Davy Jones, Jack going loopy and Will and What's-Her-Name doing.... something. Yeah, that's it. And there were a ton of really cool special effects to make up for the story! :D ;)

=)) =))

They really should have stopped with Pirates 1. [-(

Anyway, back to future movies: Glad to hear the Hobbit is still on go and I really don't care if POTC4 ever gets made.

I'm looking forward to Avatar coming out in December, though I'm more interested in hearing James Horner's score than seeing the film.....

Avatar does look good (we saw its trailer in front of 9).

Not to be confused with The Last Airbender - which I'm really looking forward to; that one comes out July 2010.

And I found an online trailer for 2012, which has a November US release date. On the one hand, I found it a wee bit disturbing to consider the 'end of the whole world' - but I didn't think the effects themselves were that good, and so they were a distraction to the overall apocalyptic effect.

And, in the past, most disaster movies followed a formula: 1. introduce a few characters; 2. the disaster happens; 3. follow those characters as they cope with the aftermath; 4. by the end, at least a few main characters survive and we have some kind of closure.

But how can step 4 happen if the whole world is destroyed? [/rhetorical question] ;)

But all night, Aslan and the Moon gazed upon each other with joyful and unblinking eyes.

Sorry? Did I hear right? You didn't think the effects in 2012 were good?
I think the destruction looks amazing. I'm not going to see that sort of movie for quality story and acting.
