Lame...So are they making more movies after this one?
That would depend on how well this new one does. However, the director Marc Webb is signed on for 2 or 3 films. But just to reiterate what Bookwyrm was saying, this new film is a complete reboot of the series, much like Batman Begins was for Batman, and what happened in the older movies will have no bearing on the new one. They've decided to redo the origin story, and are taking the character back to high school, which is why a younger actor has been cast. The film is rumored to have more serious tone, and be less campy, which is one of the reasons Webb was hired to direct.
I'm kind of on the fence about this movie. On the one hand, it is very soon after the first trilogy. However, although the first two films were great, the third one was pretty awful, and if Sam Raimi's plan for the 4th film was to be more of the same then I'm more than happy to see someone else's take on the character.
I'm looking forward to the new movie about Secretariat, but I don't know when it comes out.

Someone has to let me know on this one, but I saw that the film Seven Samurai is due out next week. Please, oh please tell me that this is not a remake of the original.
Box Office Mojo doesn't have this movie registered as releasing next week nor anytime actually.
It turns out that this was a re-release of the original film (thank goodness) as a tribute to Kurosawa.
There is however, in IMDb, a movie releasing next year: The Seven Samurai, couldn't tell you if it's a remake or not though, based on user comments it seem so though.
.
Argh. I really hope that this isn't indeed a remake of the original Seven Samurai. Honestly, where have the creative people gone?

Rumor has it that Harrison Ford will return for another stint as Indiana Jones for a 5th and final installment of the franchise.
This article contains details and a few high-level spoilers:
"Shia LaBeouf played Indiana's son Mutt Williams, and he will also appear in the new instalment.
Movie bosses have assured fans the film will stay true to the series' roots, and won't contain lots of state-of-the-art special effects.
"Shia LaBeouf has a central role again as Indy's son but this will be a blockbuster made in the old fashioned way rather than the CGI efforts of the last movie," the source added."
Filming starts next year.

Wow that storyline to the 5th installment to the Indiana Jones franchise sounds amazing.
I knew that there was going to be another IJ movie for a year now but I'm glad to hear the story news! Thanks stargazer

Hopefully it turns out better than the last one, because that was a pale shadow of an Indiana Jones movie.
I haven't seen the latest Indiana Jones movie, but I probably won't bother. The premise for the 5th one sounds very interesting and I love the fact that they're wanting to return to old-fashioned movie techniques.
Some journalist on an entertainment website mentioned Josh Holloway (Sawyer from LOST) as being a good choice to play Indy if there were more movies. What are your thoughts? I think he's one of the few that could pull it off. He's got the charm and the wit. He's manly but not always the gentleman.

Well, Disney has released its first official trailer for Tangled (Rapunzel).
I had no interest in the movie before but this actually looks quite good. Thanks for sharing.

The animation doesn't look that good and I'm not sure I totally understand what the plotline is going to be, but it looks sort of like Shrek meets classic Disney Princess film. It could be good and it could also be really disappointing.
What's wrong with the animation? It looks fine. You can find a lot worse out there.

So I know the topic has changed a bit... but I just have to say that I kind of hope Josh Hutcherson gets the Spider Man role. I love Josh, and he hasn't really been in any good movies lately, and I want to see what he can do if he has a big film like Spider Man. Especially because he has hopefully matured in his acting. I wouldn't mind Logan though either.
I had thought that Harrison was done with Indiana Jones as well! Interesting... perhaps he doesn't have too many action scenes... I bet Shia covers that for him. I think Josh Holloway could pull of Indy. Perhaps.
I am super stoked for Tangled! It looks funny!
