narnian1: hey, you can let me dream .
ok
lol I just want to see him act in another movie...and he's not really in any good ones .
Warrior 4 Jesus,
What can you tell me about the Tin Tin movie? I've been waiting for it but really know nothing about it except it's based of the characters from the comics- which I've never read
Hmm... the Tintin movie is really being kept under wraps.
The Belgian comic series is about a young man who is a detective and reporter. He has adventures around the world, righting wrongs and helping the underdogs. The stories are generally mystery based. They were primarily written for children but because they are great stories, have great art and characters and don't insult children's intelligence, they can be enjoyed by anyone. Their content is very clean by today's standard (probably would be rated PG for violence and drug and alcohol references (not pro-these) but it never feels neutered or saccharine.
The movie will be done via motion-capture. So it will be 3D but done in the styling of Herge.
Peter Jackson (LotR, King Kong etc.) is partnering with Stephen Spielberg (E.T, Jaws, Jurassic Park etc.) to direct and produce the Tintin movies.
The main actors are:
Tintin will be played by Jamie Bell (Billy Elliot, Jane Eyre, King Kong)
Captain Haddock - Andy Serkis (LotR, King Kong)
Inspector Thompson - Simon Pegg (Hot Fuzz, Shaun of the Dead, Spaced)
Inspector Thomson - Nick Frost (Hot Fuzz, Shaun of the Dead, Spaced)
Red Rackham - Daniel Craig (James Bond - Casino Royale, Defiance)
Allan - Daniel Mays (Ashes to Ashes, Atonement)
Also, Pilot - Cary Elwes (Princess Bride, Robin Hood: Men in Tights)
Steven Moffat (Doctor Who, Jeykll, Press Gang, Coupling) played a part in writing the script.
The Tintin movie will be based on the Tintin comics - The Crab with the Golden Claws (opium (the drug) is being smuggled to other countries in crab meat tins. The story is set in the Middle-East and this is the adventure in which Tintin stumbles upon a bumbling drunk captain, Captain Haddock.
The movie will also be covering the comic - The Secret of the Unicorn, in which there's the discovery of old manuscripts belonging to Captain Haddock's ancient ancestor Sir Francis Haddock. Sir Francis was the captain aboard a worthy ship called The Unicorn but it was overtaken by a pirate captain, Red Rackham and his men. Sir Francis was captured but escaped when the pirate crew discovered the rum aboard and become extremely drunk. He sabotaged his own ship and escaped to a nearby island. Later he's rescued and bequeaths to each of his three sons a model of The Unicorn. Throughout the adventure, the Captain and Tintin search for the treasure manuscripts, are thwarted by gangsters, find the manuscripts and set off on an adventure to find the treasure.
In the following book - Red Rackham's Treasure, they enlist the help of an absent-minded (and hard-of-hearing) professor, Cuthbert Calculus, who builds a submarine to help them scour the ocean for the treasure. The Unicorn story is like a great mystery thriller, the Treasure story is like a fun treasure hunt adventure. I'm not sure how much of each story will be in the movie, but I imagine they'll incorporate the most important parts of each.
Hope this helps a little. I know it's not much but that's all I can do for now.

it's more than you think! You've cleared up A LOT for me, I really had no idea about ANY of what you said here. For starters: I actually thought for that there'd be a unicorn Now I know it's a ship!
THANKS
Glad I could be of help. I forgot to mention that the first Tintin comic was from 1929 and the last (complete) comic was from 1976. The books used as a basis for the movie were set in the early 1940s, so it's likely the movie will also be set around that time. Also, the Tintin comics were originally French language comics but they've been translated into numerous languages since their inception.
I don't know how readily the Tintin comics are available in your neck of the woods, but if you find that your local library has those three titles, or even any of them, why not give them a go?

Spider Man Reboot,
for a while it was thought that Logan Lerman be Peter Parker, it wasn't so in the end.Josh Hutcherson was a finalist, and still is but it seems the role might go to someone else.
Latest news reports that Jamie Bell might just be the new Spider Man,
I'm not entirely sure how I feel about this. I'm sure he can handle the role though.
yes, so I've heard.....I kind of hope he gets the role, but why are they making another Spider-Man movie anyway?

I think so...I odn't really know much. The only reason I know anything is b/c I was looking it up a bit b/c of Logan .
It's not a prequel, it's a complete reboot of the franchise. Which is a really stupid idea.
A reboot?! That is weird .
Yeah, it'd be one thing to reboot a franchise like Fantastic Four. That was just an awful set of movies, but the Spiderman trilogy was actually pretty good and made a lot of money.
