Alice in Wonderland- The trailer is leading me to think this is going to be a tad different than the book(s). I mean, the Mad Hatter is the main character, so it seems as of now. At least the Chesire cat is exactly how I imagined him. I'm still gonna watch it though.
While the movie will be different than the books, not sure how much different though because I keep hearing different things. Alice is still the main character, no doubt about that. Why then is Mad Hatter shown more prominently in the trailer? The actress playing Alice, (Mia W.), is virtually unknown- I've only seen her in Defiance myself, and it wasn't a huge role. While she is unkown still, Madd Hatter is played by Johnny Depp who is known by everyone and is Burton's favorite man- therefore for publicity they went with him for the trailer. Many don't agree with it but marketing usually does that, they go for the most popular.
The only movies over the next few years that I'm really looking forward to are:
DH Part 1
VDT
DH Part 2
The Hobbit Part 1
The Hobbit Part 2
PotC 4 (whenever that gets released...)
And I'll have to find out what 9 is...Since everyone seems to be looking forward to it so much. XD
(Formerly Reep&cheep)
I'm looking forward to so many. To make it simple, the list looks like this:
-movies based on books I love
-movies that look cool
Er, that's about it.

I wasn't exactly sure where to put this since I've already seen it, so I finally decided on here, since it's technically not out yet.
A guy I know recently made his first movie, called The Little Red Plane. I got to go see the pre-screening (woo-hoo!), and I must say, it was pretty good. It had many flaws, as all first movies do, but I just thought I'd share it with ya'll. As you watch the trailer, please keep in mind that this is his first movie. Here is the official site, complete with trailer!! Like I said, it has many flaws, and I know the kid doesn't sound like such a good actor in the trailer, but he was very good in the movie. It might be a while 'till it comes out on DVD (it's not going to theatre's, so far as I know) because right now they're working with Sony to get a soundtrack put together (for the pre-screening they used music from other movies). But I just thought I'd share it with ya'll. I really want to see it again, because the sound system they were on (they premiered it in this really big church) was pretty crummy.

Buds: 5, Twin Blank! <--- also don't remember who Twin Blank was. Find me if you're out there, lost one.
How funny that you should mention that, Checkers...I actually know Phillip Roth. He was talking about this movie at a conference I met him at a few weeks ago, but I didn't put two and two together. I haven't seen the film yet, but maybe soon.
No way, you mean the WIT conference? I girl I know went to that as the official photographer (least I think she was), and he was there! That would be awesome! I know the director and one of the actors, and I got a signed poster! I was joking with the guy I know that acted in it, "Should we just like, wait, and get this from you at church?" And what else is crazy is that the girl who sings the song in the trailer went to first or second grade wit hmy older sister! That is so awesome that you met him though. I only got to see him once at the premiere, and he was pretty funny. He said, "How was my acting?" And me and my sister said, "You were really good!" (which he was) And then he made this face and said, "Eh, I could've been better."
EDIT: I don't know the director. ( Co-president of the BGMCA club. <--- don't remember what that was but I left it for the nostalgia

Anyway, back to business.
There's a big Disney convention going on in California right now and the 4th Pirate's film title was officially announced today. Ladies and gents, coming soon to a theater near you in 2011...
The Pirates of the Caribbean
On Strange Tides
Johnny Depp made a surprise appearance at one of the presentations as Jack Sparrow; apparently even cell phones were banned from the panels so I don't think you'll find any pictures online, unfortunately.
Oh yeah, and apparently Johnny Depp is playing Tonto in the new Lone Ranger movie coming out. That elicited a big fat "LOL!!!!!" from me.
Oh i so though it was goign to be named. Pirates of the Caribbean the fountain of youth.
Pirates 4????? Yipee! I can't wait! Any word on who will be returning?

Has no one else mentioned the upcoming Robin Hood movie? My brother's been keeping us updated on the progress since the spring. I'm still waiting for Like Dandelion Dust to *finally* have a trailer...you'd think a film that's been at nearly a dozen festivals would have a trailer, wouldn't you?
