I've heard rumors of a Fantastic Four reboot. Not sure how likely that is, but considering how much of a stinker the second one was, I wouldn't be upset if the franchise was rebooted.

The rumors have been around for a long time now, I actually just noticed this morning that IMDb has a page for Fantastic Four, 2013. Of course they aren't always the most reliable source this early in advance.
I hear that Annasophia Robb will be playing the lead role in the movie "Soul Surfer".....I have no other news on that one. anyone else?

^Yep that's coming out this year or next. But yes, she's playing the main role.
Clash of the Titans, is anyone planning on seeing it? And if so, will you check out the 2D or 3D version?
I'm definitely planning on seeing it this weekend, and most definitely seeing it in 2D. So far reviews haven't been positive, but the chance of seeing Liam Neeson and Ralph Fiennes together onscreen again, and as Zeus and Hades respectively is too much to pass up.
Regardless of your feelings on 3D movies, I feel like Clash of the Titans is going to be almost as important the the new "genre" as Avatar was. Since Clash is the first 2D movie really to be converted to 3D in post-production, a trend that virtually every major studio is now making with their tent-post films, a lot of eyes are going to be watching not only how the aesthetics are, but also if the conversion really is financially a good decision to make.
So far the prospects look dim. I've been keeping up with the reviews, and have yet to read a single positive thing about the look of the converted 3D. Here's just a sample of what critics are saying:
"To me, the live-action post-converted 3D footage looked very unnatural. At times the characters appeared to stand out like cardboard cutouts, while other times they appeared to be graphed to a computer generated 3D model, and it just looked odd. The computer animated elements look a bit better, but as a whole it was a sub-par experience."
"The 3D looks bad; for the most part, it's 2D in different planes - an effect which makes everything appear unconvincing and is as compelling an argument as one can find for why this sort of "quickie" conversion should not be foisted upon audiences."
"In a desperate lunge for maximum profits, the makers of Clash of the Titans decided in late January to transfer their completed movie, filmed with conventional 2-D cameras, into 3-D and higher ticket prices. The process simply doesn't work that way, at least not to full effect...Clash of the Titans redefines 3-D but in the wrong way; the movie is dull, dingy and, well, let's just say dull again. Save yourself a few bucks at the box office and choose the 2-D version, if you really must see this movie."
You get my point... If anyone wants the full articles, just p.m me.
Even though the 3D conversion seems to be a bust, which I have been arguing for awhile now, I'm still looking forward to seeing the film in 2D. With low expectations it should it be, if nothing else, at least be a fun 100 minute adventure into Greek mythology.
I plan on seeing Clash in the cinema sometime (though probably not this upcoming weekend as it's very busy). There's some nostalgia value for me, as I remember the original from my younger days.
The quote about "cardboard cutouts" was referenced in my local newspaper this past weekend in a general article about the 3D trend in movies (I included a few more notes from that article in this post).
I plan on seeing it in 2D first and going from there.
But all night, Aslan and the Moon gazed upon each other with joyful and unblinking eyes.
I'm seeing Clash of the Titans tomorrow in 3D! I'll let you all know how the 3D is. I can't wait to see Clash of the Titans!!!!!!! I loved the original, even though it was cheesy.
EDIT: We are debating on seeing it in 3D, After reading some reviews.

A bit of interesting news (mostly for the older members here):
On Tuesday, Warner Bros. announced that they will be making a new American Godzilla film. The movie will be produced by a joint collaboration from Legendary Pictures, Warner Bro. and Toho (the company that owns Godzilla and have produced all the films in Japan).
So far no word on a possible script, director or whether Godzilla will be CGI, man-in-a-suit or a combination of CGI and animatronics (think Jurassic Park).
The film has a tentative release date of 2012, though this could very easily change at any time.

I'm excited that they are making another Godzilla film and have my fingers crossed that it will be a decent remake. Not another travesty like GODZILLA (1998).....
Having the film produced by Legendary Pictures gives me hope that it will be a decent reworking, also Toho has wisely placed several of their own as "executive producers".

I did not like the 1998 Godzilla , but I LOVE all the older ones , my dad got me hooked on them since I was little, we always watch them together!
I hope its a better remake.

I enjoyed the 1998 Godzilla. Sure it was different to the original and not high cinema but I thought it was better than a man in a rubber suit and good fun. I've seen several Godzilla movies but the only good one (in my opinion) is the original Gojira, rubber suits not withstanding. The re-cut American version is horrible.

Ain't this the future movies thread?
Anyways, one movie I am interested in is the Ramona and Beesuz film to be released by Walden Media. The Ramona series was a staple for me growing up and I'd like to see how it'll be adapted. I'm a bit leery of Selena Gomez as Beezus.

^I loved those books! I didn't know they were doing a movie (shows just how much I follow the industry- the only movies I really care about are Narnia ). But yeah, Selena doesn't seem like the best pick to me
Oops, sorry, yes.
I'm looking forward to the French movie, 'Micmacs'. It comes out soon. By the same director as 'Amelie', 'City of Lost Children' and 'Delicatessen'.

Someone stop Shyamalan! He changed all the pronunciations for The Last Airbender! Sokka is Soak-uh, Aang is Ong, and Iroh is Eer-oh. Grrr.....I don't really care about the so-called "Racebending", but the name changes are just annoying me...
Clash of the Titans looks a little too...odd for me. I don't know, the giant scorpion thingy...I'm not really interested. I've never seen any Godzilla movies, but I've always wanted to...this new one could be interesting. Hey, has anybody else heard the rumor about The Book Thief being made into a movie? Wondering if there's any truth to it. I started reading the book, but there was a bit too much language in it for my taste, but it looked pretty good and I would like to see a movie about it (with a guardian, of course).

Just read a review of Toy Story 3 that made me so anxious for the film to come out:
I admit, before reading this review, even though I knew pixar couldn't possibly do wrong, I was convinced this wouldn't be my favorite of theirs; I'm less sure now.
