I'm really wondering what part Black Widow will play in the movie. Obviously the villains are all armor-based, so I can't see what she's going to be doing. I'm also wondering which version of Black Widow she is. The Ultimates universe Black Widow
Paramount Pictures is going to make a movie based on the Book Genesis from the Bible! I've always wated a movie based on the book of Genesis! I can't wait! God willing they will be faithful to the Bible.
Here's the story from Comingsoon.net
The Book of Genesis in 3D
Paramount Pictures and former Walden Media co-founder Cary Granat are reportedly developing In the Beginning, a 3D version of the creation story. The film is using The Book of Genesis as its primary resource.
David Cunningham is set to direct from a script by John Fusco (Hidalgo).
The visual effects are being handled by Reel Fx. Paramount will co-finance and distribute the $30 million project.

^^ Wow, they're really going to have to trim the content down so it's not rated R or worse. Genesis is so full of stories and such . . . I wonder how in the world they're going to fit it all into a movie.
Heh, it reminds me of these skits my drama group would do. "The Old Testament in 30 mins." They were hilarious. Not sure that's the type of reaction they want with their movie though.
P.S."Brooklyn!"
Hmm I'm not sure if I should be excited or not. Hollywood has a tendency to ruin and elaborate on Bible stories.
New trailer for Tron Legacy hit the internet last night, and it looks fantastic. VDT officially has some competition.
I've seen made-for-TV movie adaptions on Biblical stories and they are way off kilter. One in particular I remember is when Jon Voight played as Noah in Noah's Flood. There were a number of things that were off. For example, Noah's wife tried to throw the spiders out into the water. Then James Colbren played a character that somehow survived the flood waters and was suppossed the one whom sin passed through. So, I have to be skeptical about this until I hear more.
Be watching for the release of my spiritual warfare novel under a new title: "Call to Arms" by OakTara Publishing. A sequel (title TBD) will shortly follow.

Um...actually...*scratches head*...there's already a full motion picture on the subject, and a pretty good one too (here's the trailer). In 1966 filmmaker John Huston embarked on a pretty daring plan to bring the contents of the OT to the big screen starting with The Bible: In the Beginning and continuing from there, however the film didn't do as well as expected and only the first half of Genesis was ever made. As for the movie it's a perennial favorite around Easter...personal opinion? John Huston stars as Noah, and the Ark story is by far the best part of the movie (Huston manages to bring a comic flair to it successfully), but the Tower of Babel portion is also very good as is the story of Cain and Abel. And I personally think they nailed Sodom and Gomorrah and its destruction. By and large it's surprisingly faithful to the Biblical account, all the more surprising since Huston was an atheist. The movie ends around the time Abraham is preparing to sacrifice Isaac, so if you're looking for Jacob and Esau and the trials and travails of Joseph you won't find it here, unfortunately. Still, great movie...I honestly don't think you'll ever see another movie like this come out of Hollywood on this subject ever again, but let's see if they manage to surprise us. Stranger things have happened!

I was just coming here to post the link but you beat me to the punch! I've already watched the new trailer twice and it looks great, but then again I'm a Tron fanboy. I love the new Light Cycles and we get a glimpse of an updated Recognizer, so I'm just tickled pink. Even better Bruce Boxleitner and Jeff Bridges are reprising their roles....does it get any better? The trailer description says that

Thanks Shadowlander! I'm going to watch the movie. I‘m excited to see what they can do with today's special effects in the new film.

Chris Evans was Johnny Storm in Fantastic Four and its sequel. Those movies weren't much liked, though I must confess I own both of them even though they're nowhere near being favorites.
After a lot of rumors, and names like John Krasinski and Channing Tatum. Evans was offered the role, though he wasn't sure if to accept or not. It is now official- Chris Evans *will* be Captain America.
I'm not sure how I feel about that decision. I've never been impressed with Evans work, although I've only seen him in the Fantastic 4 films and Sunshine. Still, he's never played a role like this one.
I guess the one issue I have with casting Evans is that Captain America is going to be a part of, if not the leader of, the Avengers in the 2012 Avengers film. The team also will include Robert Downey Jr. as Tony Stark/Iron Man, Samuel L. Jackson as Nick Fury, Chris Hemsworth as Thor, and presumably Ed Norton as the Hulk. I believe in the comics Captain America was essentially the leader of the team, and I really can't see Evans leading the likes of RDJ's Iron Man and Sam Jackson.
Also, this is the second time a studio has "double-dipped" when casting a comic book character. Warner Bros. did the same thing when they cast Ryan Reynolds as Green Lantern, as he was also Deadpool in X-Men Origins Wolverine, and if it ever gets made, the Deadpool stand alone movie. With so many capable actors out there, why cast someone who has already been a Marvel hero?
Yeah, not sure how I feel about this. He was good as Johnny Storm, but that's an entirely different type of character from Captain America. Hopefully he can pull it off, but I'm skeptical for the moment. Love the idea of Hugo Weaving playing Red Skull though. He makes a fantastic villain.
Chris Evans was a great Johnny Storm, but I cannot imagine him as Cap. He seems too young, not enough gravitas to hold his own against Downey and Jackson in a more dramatic role.
The "double-dipping" would only be an issue if they ever made a FF/Avengers crossover film, which would be awesome , but unlikely. And technically Ryan Reynolds is NOT double-dipping. Green Lantern is DC, and Deadpool is Marvel (though if they ever tried to make a movie with his Blade3 sidekick character crossing over to the Xmen it might become an issue ).

On the previous page, we made some comments about how the new Karate Kid (with Jaden Smith and Jackie Chan in Beijing) was more about kung fu than karate.
I saw a new trailer for it in front of Alice in Wonderland, and it appears others have noted this as well - this one had a little more dialog, in which Chan makes a couple of comments that he'll teach Smith's character kung fu.
Both trailers included the fly-swatter scene from the original.
But all night, Aslan and the Moon gazed upon each other with joyful and unblinking eyes.
Good point about the X-Men and Green Lantern mythos being in different comic universes, GB. It slipped my mind that X-Men was Marvel and not DC. And the FF franchise seems to be dead in the water. If it's ever revised they can easily recast Johnny Storm, if not the entire group.
Stargazer, I think the original title for the Karate Kid remake was actually The Kung Fu Kid. Not sure why they decided to revert back to Karate Kid, since it does seem to be kung fu and not karate that is the focus.
They probably just kept The Karate Kid title because of the Name Brand recognition. Which might be acceptable back in the 1970's when most Americans didn't know better and Karate was used as a generic term for all Asian Martial Arts. I do still see it occasionally used as a generic term, but most people today know the difference.
I have to admit, I'm looking forward to seeing Chan in the role of Miyagi, but I guess the Master will have a name change .
