Very much looking forward to The Ghost Writer. It looks like a smart thriller and it has Ewan MacGregor and Olivia Williams in it! Oh, and Pierce Brosnan. But who cares about him? :p (No offense to Mr. Brosnan: MacGregor and Williams are just the principal draws for me.)

By the way, what's with all these demonic sword-and-sorcery movies coming out? Season of the Witch and Solomon Kane and all that? It strikes me as an odd trend, especially as it's nowhere near Halloween....

and 2012 will bring us a new Treasure Island movie,
which I am happy about since I loved the book and would like to see it done again. I saw an old one but didn't like it.

^^ I think that's supposed to be the sequel to "Journey To The Center Of The Earth" (Brendan Fraser).....

Bleargh. I suppose it'll be in 3-D and have almost nothing in common with the original book then. :P

uh uh.
you are right, Journey to the Center of the Earth Sequel will go that route, but it will also take from other books based on an article I read a long time ago, and I don't remember where.

But they are remaking the movie, based on the book too.

According to IMDB there is also another Treasure Island film to be released in 2012, not related to the Journey of the Center of the Earth films, which is probably what narnian1 was referring to. I can't find any details other than the proposed release date. http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1604227/

The Journey to the Center of the Earth sequel is supposed to hit in 2011:

There was a trailer for the upcoming Karate Kid remake in front of Percy Jackson. It stars Jaden Smith in the title role and Jackie Chan as his mentor. In this version, Smith and his mother move to Beijing (so we see shots of famous sites like the Olympic Stadium (the Birds' Nest). He's bullied by the locals and begins studying under Chan's character. To my untrained eye it looks more like kung fu than karate.

But I was momentarily distracted by the bagua symbols on the floor (sample illustration here) - they're similar to the bagua symbols used for the Dharma stations on Lost ;)) - which come from Chinese martial arts and philosophy.

But all night, Aslan and the Moon gazed upon each other with joyful and unblinking eyes.

Yeah, pretty sure Jackie Chan is teaching him kung fu. Which kinda makes the title inaccurate, but that's Hollywood for you. :P

New Iron-Man trailer!

stargazer: yeah I saw that trailer when watching PJ. My mom keeps talking about it so maybe we'll see this movie! They want to show us the old one too, before we watch it. :)

I Loved Iron Man, I didn't even really know anything about it when I first saw it, so it was a great surprise for me. Easily in my top ten movies.
I saw the trailer on Jimmy Kimmel last night and I'm really looking forward to seeing second one, the second trailer I think definitely gives us a little bit more of an idea of what it's going to be about. :)
