I've seen the Shutter Island trailer several times (in front of Avatar, The Book of Eli, and Sherlock Holmes - all movies I'd recommend, by the way). It sounds interesting but I'm not sure I'll see it on the silver screen.
Movietickets.com offers this synopsis:
"Shutter Island" is the story of two U.S. marshals, Teddy Daniels and Chuck Aule, who are summoned to a remote and barren island off the coast of Massachusetts to investigate the mysterious disappearance of a murderess from the island's fortress-like hospital for the criminally insane.
But all night, Aslan and the Moon gazed upon each other with joyful and unblinking eyes.
That sounds interesting! I probably won't watch in theatres either though
I can't wait for Shutter Island, it's by far my most anticipated film of 2010. It was supposed to be released in October of '09, but got pushed back for various reasons. I don't think that Martin Scorsese has ever made a bad film, and his working record with Leonardo DiCaprio is phenomenal. Those two names working on it is enough to get me to the big screen to see it, at least once.
Yeah, it looks like a great thriller/horror/suspense/period drama movie.
I've never been a fan of Lenardo Di Carpio (I thought he was too much of a pretty boy) but of late it seems like he's been playing more gritty roles. I'm really looking forward to Inception by Christopher Nolan, also staring Di Caprio.
Currently watching:
Doctor Who - Season 11
For those who are interested here is a link to a new featurette video for Clash of the Titans. I can't wait for this movie!!!!!!!

Shutter Island sounds like it should be rated R! I hope it is! I don't think I want to see it......

It is rated R Liberty Hoffman, which is why I’m not sure if I'm going to see it or not. I don't choose to go to rated R movies lightly. It's actual rare that I go to rated R movies, except ones like book of Eli.

I'm usually not a stickler for R movies either. There are just too few movies these day that do need the R for good reasons. The Book of Eli was one. I can see Shutter Island being another. I was never really a fan of Dicaprio until Catch Me if You Can and Blood Diamond. He takes the serious roles like this pretty well, so I imagine he will be good in this. But I've never been a real horror fan so Shutter Island is not going to be on my to-see list.
At this point, Clash of the Titans will likely be my next theatrical movie viewing. But that depends on my schedule as that is when semester projects are going to be piling up.
Be watching for the release of my spiritual warfare novel under a new title: "Call to Arms" by OakTara Publishing. A sequel (title TBD) will shortly follow.
Yeah if the horror or gore is to much in Shutter Island, I won't be seeing it. I like mysteries/suspense, but I really don't care for horror, so I'm just going to wait and see how much is in it first.
I have to say that Clash of the Titans is my second most anticipated movie I’m looking forward to this year, after Voyage of the Dawn Treader of course!

According the the MPAA, Shutter Island has been rated R for "disturbing violent content, language and some nudity." I really doubt there will be much blood/gore. If its anything like Scorsese's other films, I'm sure there will be strong language throughout.
I'm also really looking forward to Clash of the Titans. I've decided I'm going to see in in Digital 2D though, and not in 3D. I'm not a fan of the post-production conversion that studios are picking up in order to try to boost profits. The film was shot in 2D, which is the way the director meant for it to be seen, so I will see it that way.
I'm not interested in anything really this year except for Dawn Treader, but then again I don't really know what's coming out . Wait, isn't Robin Hood coming out this year? Anyway...
I am not particularly impressed with 3D. The only reason Avatar passed ROTK and Titanic in the box office was the increased price for 3D. So I don't intend to see much of anything in 3D. From what I've heard, it doesn't really make the viewing much better and for me, it would seem to be more of a distractant than viewing enhancement.
So what I'd like to see for the rest of this year at this point is
Clash of the Titans
Iron Man 2 (but I need to see the 2nd half of the 1st before I do so)
Prince of Persia
Robin Hood
VDT
I can't think of any more off the top of my head.

I like 3D but for me it really depends on what movie I'm going to watch. I prefer to see Clash of the Titans in 2D because I agree with bkey it was made for 2D, but my dad really wants to see it in 3D so hopefully it will be at least ok. I think the 3D is way better when seen in IMAX though, to bad Clash of the Titans isn't playing in IMAX.

Saw on IMDb:
Penelope Cruz is rumored for Pirates 4,
Ian McShane is gonna be Blackbeard in On Stranger Tides.
And News on Spider Man Reboot,
Earlier I expressed how upset I was about the reboot. I also said I'd not see it. Well, that MIGHT change.
{edit} glad this casting didn't go down. A much better choice was taken{/edit}
According to IMDb Logan Lerman is rumored for the role of Peter Parker.
If he gets the role, I will see it. I'd like to see him tackle the role, he'd be interesting.
and 2012 will bring us a new Treasure Island movie,
which I am happy about since I loved the book and would like to see it done again. I saw an old one but didn't like it.
I stumbled across rumors that casting has begun for a Runaways movie adaptation. I'm not sure whether to be thrilled about the idea of a movie or dreading it. It's my very favorite comic book series and I would be really upset if they turned it into an annoying kiddie film. Maybe they'll get Joss Whedon to direct it, since he wrote a few of the issues.
