Does the BBC's Chronicles of Narnia count? If they do they were my favorite hands down.

Did anyone else ever watch Shari Lewis's Lamb Chop? It went off the air when I was very small (no more than three or four), but I loved it while it was on. "This is the song that doesn't end..." Such fun. :D

... it just goes on and on my friends, some people started singing it not knowing what it was and they'll continue singing it forever just because this is the song ....
Obviously I was a fan. ;)) We have a cassette tape of Lamb Chop's Nutcracker. It is a staple to listen to at Christmas, which brings me to ...

(So yes, I still do have quite a bit of little kid left in me... :) )

Me too!
I remember 3 2 1 Contact and Square One! When I watched them, I was too young to understand a lot of the stuff. I really liked the mystery segments of them. I can remember bits and piece of the plots. I really liked Mathnet. (By they way, episodes of Mathnet are out on youtube, which reminds me I still have the last segment of one to watch ;)) ) I would love it if Square One and particularly Mathnet came out on DVD. :D I would probably understand the Math part now. ;))
Does any one remember Shining Time Station? It's another favorite of mine. I'm pretty sure it is what gave Thomas the Tank Engine his start. Anyway it featured segments with him and his friends.
Other Favorites (in no particular order):
Mr. Roger's Neighborhood
Reading Rainbow
Ghostwriter (want this one on DVD too)
Sesame Street
Looney Tunes
Zoobably Zoo (not sure on the Spelling )
Dumbo's Circus
Welcome to Pooh Corner

I'd be interested to know if anyone else watched / remembers the last three on my list.
The list could go on but I don't have time now. :p

johobbit, that's the real reason for him being called 'Captain Kangaroo'? That's a thread-bare association if ever there was one! :p

Favourites as a kid included, but were not limited to:

Arthur! (...'D.W!!')
Captain Planet (he's a hero, gonna take pollution down to zero! Also affectionately known as the Toothpaste Man)
Skippy the Bush Kangaroo (the only lovable kangaroo in the whole of Oz!!)
Brum! (the silent little car)
Gumby (little blue..or green? plasticine man!!! I was obsessed)
Noddy! (how I loved that little gnome)
Johnson & Friends (love the waterbottle named Alfred)
The Little Mermaid episodes (what I wouldn't do for my parents to buy me another episode on VHS!)
The Animals of Sherwood Forest (made a kid cry, that did!)

Yup, that's a pretty good selection right there. :D

I really liked Arthur too (I still do, even though I only very rarely watch it anymore)! I also loved Between the Lions and Blue's Clues (I didn't really watch that much TV when I was little).

Ah yes, StudyMate, there are two more that slipped memory (that's how long ago I was a kid ;))): Gumby (and Pokey, yes?) and Noddy! I really liked the animation in each. And, oh my, I'd forgotten Enid Blyton was the author of the books. Cool! :)

Who remembers Romper Room?

Shadowlander....we are probably the same age :D

Ironically, I was talking to my mom about this thread and she asked if anyone had mentioned Romper Room. Then the next time I looked at this thread there was your question about Romper Room. :)) I was going to ask for her if anyone remembered it. I checked your profiles and your and Shadowlander's ages are a year apart (at this time).

here are some more from me:
Chip and Dale's Rescue Rangers
Carmen Sandigo (the game show and animated show)
I also liked the filler between shows on the Disney Channel. It had segments of stories - like Curious George and one with a duck.

Jo: And, oh my, I'd forgotten Enid Blyton was the author of the books. Cool!

You'd forgotten? I never even knew! Well waddya know. Makes it that much cooler. :D

And has anyone mentioned Madeleine?! Who could resist the narration of Christopher Plummer...and who always waited till the end of the show to find out if there was ever any more?

"We love our bread, we love our butter, but most of all, we love each other!"

@Liberty: I never liked Barney as a child-maybe because Humphrey Bear was on at the same time and he was not an obnoxious shade of purple. ;;)

And I forgot Playschool (did that air in America?), Sesame Street and the Wiggles!! B-)

(Grammar nazis, excuse my lack of italicising the names of shows)

@Liberty: Oh, I just saw your evil collection of smilies re Barney! =)) I think he taught good values, but his voice was too strange for me to enjoy listening to!

There was another show that I remember watching and really liking even though my mother thought it was silly....it involved a muppet-like rat, a cat, a goofy dog and someone's real life garage. I don't even know if it was Australian or American, but I don't think I recall an American accent. Does anyone remember it? I might have to do some googling...
