I absolutely love the Avengers score. Has anyone else heard it yet?
My favorite track is this one:
~Riella
Ithilwen: I haven't listened to the soundtrack, but that particular track is very good! I'll have to look into the rest...
Some soundtrack favorites:
The Greatest Game Ever Played:
Titanic Suite(s):
The Godfather Theme:
National Treasure:
Gladiator:
Jane Eyre:
& Lord of the Rings:
(I'm a soundtrack kind of person, in case you couldn't tell... )

*shall refrain judging the Avengers score too harshly as he has yet to see the film.*
Solely from the album presentation, it's a decent work by Silvestri. Better than Captain America, but still lacking a few things... like some solid motifs for the primary heros (Iron Man, Thor, Hulk, etc). I ADORE the theme for Black Widow, though!
Welcome, AslansChild! Glad to see another film score connoisseur enter the thread. Have you by any chance checked out the other works by James Horner like Legends of the Fall and Star Trek II (in my opinion his two masterpieces)?

In Upcoming Album Release News:
James Newton Howard's score to Snow White and the Huntsman will by released on May 29. From what I can gather, this seems like it will be a return to form for Howard. A large scale, Gothic fantasy score with a powerful main theme and liberal use of choir. Might even volley to push The Last Airbender out of being Howard's best work.
So, keep your eyes and ears peeled for this release!
Also, the track listings for Patrick Doyle's Brave have been posted on Amazon.com.

I ADORE the theme for Black Widow, though!
Is that the one entitled "Red Ledger"? Because I really loved that one too. It's my second favorite after "A Promise".

Correcto! The whole track is not her theme but the main motif that plays through it, especially at the beginning, is the Black Widow theme. There is actually a track titled "Interrogation" from the physical CD album that presents her music earlier on.

Thank you PrinceCor004 . I haven't listened to any other Horner work, none that I know of, but now that you mention it, I probably will do so shortly. I'm listening to the Avengers soundtrack right now, "Red Ledger" at the suggestion of yourself and Ithilwen. I like "A Promise"

Sounds good!
Does anyone know where to find all the awesome songs used in most film trailers?
I can't really think of any specific trailer, but they use such awesome songs... LoL

The short answer is that you can't buy most of them as the awesome music is specifically made for movie trailers.
Currently watching:

New sample clips video of Snow White and the Huntsman up on YT!
The clips are rather brief (30 seconds at the max), but it gives a good idea of what the score as a whole will sound like. And how does it sound? Awesome.
Definitely can't wait for May 29th to get here.

One of my favorite tracks ever is My Name is Lincoln from The Island.
It seems to be pretty famous. I had heard it from multiple sources, but didn't know until last year that it was from a movie.
It seems that the song is actually more famous than the movie it's from. Am I right?

Drat it.
7chronicles Thanks so much for all the clips! They were really good!
PrinceCor004 Sounds good! Looking forward to the whole album.
Ithilwen Yeah, I know what you mean. I'm pretty sure I've heard that before, I think if I'm not mistaken, I think it was from an Eric Ludy Bravehearted Thots video...I dunno.

I first heard it used in the trailer for Elizabeth:The Golden Age.
When I went looking for it and found out it was from The Island I realized why I like it so much.
Steve Jablonsky composed it!
Steve Jablonsky is one of my favorite composers!!!!
His Score for Transformers (whether you like the movies or not) is just amazingly breathtaking in my own opinion!
And yes I agree, the song is more famous then the movie.
For the sake of it "Arrival to Earth" by Steve Jablonsky, it's so breathtaking!
7chronicles Thanks so much for all the clips! They were really good!
I'm glad you liked them!!!!

A sneak peek at the Hobbit soundtrack!
"...when my heart is overwhwlemed, lead me to the Rock that is higher than I."
-Pslam 61:2
Based on the description of the person who posted that video, I'm not convinced that's officially music for/from The Hobbit.
This is a little suite I wrote based on Howard Shores new music for the Hobbit. It uses the new themes that can be heard in the trailer along with some well known themes from the Lord of the Rings Trilogy.
Was it ever confirmed that the Hobbit trailer music was going to be used in the movie? Either way, it's definitely not the soundtrack.
oops...sorry mate
Here's something else then to make up for it:
It's a very lovely song, but seems how I read the book, or *cough* tried to read the book, I'm going to say the films bad, which is a shame...
