You have amazing taste in music, Gathmandais!! Except maybe for Rebecca Black . . :P lol, just kidding. I do get really tired of people getting so upset whenever someone starts singing Friday, or people bashing her. Just ignore it, or laugh over it. :P
Love Anberlin, Coldplay, Owl City, what I've heard of Mae, Newsboys, Switchfoot, Relient K, One Republic, Angels and Airwaves. :D Have you been to any concerts?

I've been to one. It was a Newsboys concert just before Peter Furler left. The awesome thing about it was that both Peter and Michael Tait were there, so that cool. Got to see the old and the new at the same time. But in my opinion the Newsboys were better with Furler.

That sounds really cool - I've always wanted to go to one of their concerts! :D I did like Peter Furler, and have that soft spot in my heart for him (:P), but I like Michael Tait's voice better, and I really love all the new songs, more than a lot of the old one's. But they were always great. :)

Newboys were definitely better with Furler. Since he left I've only liked one song. Tait is fine and all, but just not for Newsboys. Tait is good for... say, DC Talk. :p I would love to see them do something together, but with Tait in Newsboys and Tobymac doing well, I just don't see it happening.

I am glad that I was able to see Newsboys 3 times live before Peter Furler left. then I saw them with Peter and Michael Tate and they were much better with Peter, though I still like their new stuff, just not as much :D

Ditto that the current Newsboys group, 'though okay, is not as excellent as when Furler front-manned it. I really admire Tait, but preferred him ever so much better in his dcTalk days.

A friend send me an article the other day reviewing the very first Jars of Clay album, way back in August, '95. The writer certainly recognized what a solid, great band they would become.

If you have not yet heard of Jars of Clay, you soon will, and if you have not yet heard Jars of Clay, you'll soon want to. With this foursome, the typical approach of finding a secular band comparison for a new Christian artists is simply impossible. The debut project from Jars of Clay stands on its own musical identity actually creating a new musical genre instead of just imitating one.

This folk-based rock alternative rock group integrates unusual sound effects throughout their music without losing the integrity of the songs. Jars of Clay produced this disc themselves with the exception of two cuts, "Liquid," and "Flood" (the first radio single) which brought in the production talents of Adrian Belew, creating a couple of very notable songs.

Jars of Clay is a true treasure worthwhile of your time and ears. The group should appeal to fans of artists such as Rich Mullins and Iona.

Jars Of Clay is probably my favorite Christian band, with Tenth Ave. North a close second runner-up. I think one thing that makes Jars Of Clay so good is that they have so much time as a band under their belt. You can definitely tell by how mature they are. Their lyrics and music have always been fantastic, but seeing them in concert just made my opinion of them go WAY UP. The people in the band are as awesome if not more so than their music!!

Speaking of awesome music, I've recently fallen in love with Anberlin's music. My sister introduced me to them at first. I would hear some of their songs every now and then and I always liked them. But then my brothers got a hold of some of their music and now we've been playing it non-stop around the house!

Anybody heard the new Switchfoot song "Restless" yet? I'm not sure how much I like it. It seems a little...unoriginal to me. But that might just be because I love Audrey Assad's song "Restless" and it happens to be in the same key and very similar to Switchfoot's song. I'm hoping the rest of Switchfoot's new album is better than that song... :P

Switchfoot did the same "Restless" as Audrey Assad?... wait, you said similar. I'll have to look into it, I also love Assad's song- I love her entire CD. First I heard of her was on Chris Tomlin's Christmas CD, she sang Winter Snow beautifully.

I then got "Oh Love That Will Not Let Me Go", the song is Robby Seay Band's but she is featured in it- though more in the background. Beautifully voice.

Ooh, a new Switchfoot song? I'll have to try to listen to that as soon as possible! :) What is everyone's favorite album by them? I love Oh Gravity and Hello Hurricane.

Elanor,
The Beautiful Letdown and Hello Hurricane, without a doubt. Though I love all the ones in between, and a song or two before. Of course Dark Horses is great too, but I can't speak for the CD yet.

@Elanor All their CD's are great, but I would have to say Hello Hurricane is my favorite, followed by Oh! Gravity. But who knows, Vice Verses may take the lead. B-)
