Elanor: I own all of Jon Foreman's music, and he is amazing. Fall and Winter are just goregous EP's! They are slow and melodic, and very thought provoking lyrics. I've got them on a physical CD, and I do not regret buying them one bit! :) Fall and Winter have a more melancholy tone, and beautifully done. Some of my favorites on Fall are The Cure for Pain, Southbound Train, Lord, Save Me from Myself, and My Love Goes Free. On Winter, I love I am Still Running (that's probably my all time favorite song by him), White As Snow, and Learning How To Die.

How cool; I'd really like to get an album - which would you recommend? :) I really like Southbound train, and My Love Goes Free, as well. :) Friday I'm in love, and Elements Combined have to be my all time favorites. :)

X&Y is a great album! It has an almost sci-fi sound, like you're going on a rocket to outer space or something. :) My favorites are: Square One, White Shadows, Fix You, Talk, X&Y, Speed of Sound, A Message, Swallowed in the Sea, and Till Kingdom Come. Although that's nearly the whole album! :p

You're right!! It does have that kind of sci fi feel. :) I love Till Kingdom Come, What If, and White Shadows. All the quiet ones. :D

I have got a few new albums this month. First of all, All Things Bright and Beautiful by Owl City came out! It is awesome!

Awesome!!! I really, really want to get that, glad to hear it's wonderful! :D I'd better buy it for my sister soon. :P

Does anyone here listen to Kutless? I started listening to them just recently, and I fell in love with their music! Just wondering if there are any Kutless fans here. :)

Do any of you guys listen to any Death Cab for Cutie? I thought I liked them, though I'd only heard a few songs of theirs, and then I just realized that the music my brother was playing the other day, was them - and I didn't like it. I really tried to get a taste for it, but I just couldn't. :P
That was kind of sad. :P I'm going to try to listen to some more of them, though. Because I feel I should. :P

I have listened to Kutlass a little bit, and I really like them. Sometime they're a bit rocky for my taste, but they have some beautiful, quiet songs, and if I'm alone in the house . . :P I really like the lead singers voice.

Rock music is cool and the quiets songs are the best! I find that Evanescence plays music like that...some is rocky where as some is just piano and vocals and the singer Amy Lee is amazing!
Also, my dad just got me a prezzie...all the Glee CDs so far! I couldn't believe it, he doesn't even like glee :D

Narnia is childhood...

Seriously, just give the kid the orange. He needs his vitamin C!

CharlotteRose, I LOVE Evanescence. I haven't listened to her enough, but she has the best voice that I've ever heard ( seriously!), her music is gorgeous . . it's just so magical. :) Of course My Immortal is my very favorite . .
I heard a song by the Glee cast on pandora the other day, and though I didn't care for the singing, I really liked the song. Defying Gravity. Oh, and I LOVE the song Mad world - anyone ever heard that?

Hmm . . The Light Meets the Dark is just about my favorite CD of all time - but I really want to say that you should get the first one, Over and Underneath, first. So I'm not sure. :P Both are excellent, and I'm sure you would enjoy them!!

yes both TAN cds are great, but I'd start with the first one if I were you too. It's always so listen to a ban from the "beginning" (unless their later work is much stronger)- either way, you won't be disappointed. :)

Thanks, Elanor and narnian1. I'm going to watch for Over and Underneath on Amazon.com. I would like to get a new CD before our trip later this summer, and it looks like that just might be the one. :)

What I have heard of Kutless's music, I really enjoy. I'm trying to talk my older brother into buying one of their CDs, but so far I have not been successful. :( One of these days, he'll get one... I hope. :)

Oh, did you, QS? That's so cool! :) I still have yet to listen to that particular album of theirs. Part of me is hesitant to buy it because I'm a fan of mostly RK's older stuff; right up until Dave Douglas (their old drummer) left. Do you like it? :D

I'm the kind of person that goes through random phases at different times, meaning that my music tastes are extremely varied. Mostly, I'm a fan of Christian rock and crossover, and instrumental pieces. Currently, I'm going through a phase where all I listen to is Owl City and Irish reels from YouTube. ;))

*likes Kutless and Evanescence as well... and Owl City*

*is listening to Two Lefts Don't Make a Right But Three Do by RK* :p :)

^ MountainFireFlower: /I/ like it, yes. But in my opinion, it's really different from other stuff of theirs. Very different. Hopefully that's not really discouraging. :p It's not what I would call "classic" RelientK. But I do really like it. Took me a few listens to like it as much as I do though. At first I was too disappointed from it not sounding enough Rk-ish for my taste. :p
BUT- now I really like it. :) So... that's my opinion I guess. :p You could always listen to it's songs on youtube or something if you wanted... :)

Be sure to tell us what you think of it! :D

haha, yeah - when I don't have the money to buy a cd myself, I always try to get one of my siblings too. :P Very effective.

Currently, I'm going through a phase where all I listen to is Owl City and Irish reels from YouTube. ;))

I like your phase. :P I go through them as well, but it's usually an unconscious thing; I happen to start listening to just a certain band, or a certain few, and stop listening to some. The best thing about that, is that when I come back to those bands, I fall in love over again. :D
Has anyone heard the song The Theif, by RK? It was just about the first of theirs that I ever listened too, and the other day I found the song There was no Theif, by them, and it made me so happy. :D I love their uniqueness, and their song titles. :D And they're really easy to sing along to.

I love Owl City. He is so awesome!! I have a ton of his songs on my MP3, and I own his new All Things Bright and Beautiful CD. The thing I like about him most is that he's Christian, so I don't have to be afraid that he's gonna say something bad or innaproprate. I also like Carrie Underwood, some of her songs are good. Celtic Woman are pretty good too.

The Civil Wars. The concert was amazing! We managed to get right up front where we could savor every detail. :) The music was amazing, the simplicity of just a guitar with Joy Williams' wonderful, powerful voice and John Paul White's perfect harmonies and strong voice. The venue we were in was small and quaint — perfectly fitting for The Civil Wars, even if the lack of AC and far too many bodies meant everyone was sweaty and slightly uncomfortable. But, once they started their set I don't think anyone remembered that. They played for a little over an hour. I think they played ten-ish of their own songs, a song that I wasn't familiar with, Billie Jean, and Dance Me to the End of Love. No complaints. I learned what a steel guitar was for the first time (JPW uses it for Barton Hollow). The energy this performance had was simply amazing. Their music is somewhat laidback, if you will, yet everyone was engaged and focused for the entire set. The biggest thing that surprised me were the various age groups that were there. There were tween/teens, college-aged, some mid-20's-30's, and then there were couples in their 40's and 50's. I had never realized The Civil Wars had such a wide range of listeners. If any of you ever have the opportunity to see them live, GO!! You won't regret it. :)

Now for a bit of catch up. :P Kate, I ended up buying the Kye Kye album, I do really like them. :D I also bought the split Deas Vail/Farewell Flight EP. I love the Deas Vail songs, but I'm more medium to the Farewell Flight tracks. Maybe I just need some more time with them. And, yes, poor college students who love music are not a simple combination. ;)

Lark, Adele's album is on my list to get! She has such a powerful voice, I really enjoy her! And, I hope you enjoy Fair's album. They've one of my favorite comfort bands. :)

Personally, I've been pretty boring this summer. Not much new, just enjoying a handful of albums I bought in the spring, early summer and enjoying old favorites again. :)
