^I LOVE those songs! I'm listening to Red Eyes right now. I don't know how Jon writes songs like this. Somehow he captures everything I wanna say & puts it into a beautiful song. I love the lines: All of my days are spent within this skin/ within this cage that I'm in/ nowhere feels safe to me/ nowhere feels home/even in crowds I'm alone/ Holding on/ I'm holding on...
I've tried to make a list of my favs before, but I felt terrible leaving some out! So I just go with the ones I've been listening to the most. How did you find out about them, Puddleglum32?
EDIT: nope, I don't think there is a SF club. I'd love it if you would start one!

Well a couple of years ago my best friend told me about switchfoot, and I started to listen to more and more until I became addicted. haha. But my friend told me all of the greats and I've been following them ever since. So about that club, I've never started one before, so what do I do?

That's so cool! I found out about them 2 years ago too. My sister got the song On Fire, & I loved it so much we just kept getting more & more! They ARE very addicting! Have you heard any of Jon Foreman's EP's? Or Fiction Family?
For the club, I think you just do what you did for your Edmund club. Put something in your signature like "Proud member of the Switchfoot Club!". I don't really know! By the way, your sig says "I'm a Northie!" That's so cool! I love 10th Ave too. For a long time my sig said "I'm a Northie-Footer!". Then when I found out about Relient K, it said "I'm a Relient Northie- Footer!" I should put that on there again...

Okay. I guess I'll just put that in my sig. you wanna join? What did you think of the EP's? if you didn't like them, you should give them another listen, cause they're really good! Fiction Family is really good too. It's a side project of Jon's with Sean Watkins from Nickle Creek, which is a folk band. So, Fiction Family is folk with a Jon Foreman twist. It's awesome! My favorite is We Ride.

On my blog (which is my home page) I'll put up some EP's on my "Song of The Week" side thingy so you can hear some more, if you want. Do you know which ones you heard? I'll put up We Ride too.

Your welcome. They're under the music page. I see you found the avatar on Land of Broken hearts. I like it! Their graphics are the best! there used to be way more though. It's strange that i can't find the rest of them.

I love the song "Fireflies" by Owl City. Such an upbeat happy song!
Wrong will be right when Aslan comes in sight / At the sound of his roar, sorrows will be no more / When he bares his teeth, winter meets its death / And when he shakes his mane, we shall have spring again
Most of Owl City's music is like that- that's why I love it so much. I just bought his two older albums (I only had Ocean Eyes before) a few days ago. I lost track of how many times I've listened to them both since then.
Tomorrow- Owl City Marathon! Time to play every single Owl City song I own, right after each other with no breaks

I have a recommendation. Rogue Valley is a great band with a very laidback sound. Sometimes they sound ambient, other times folky, sometimes acoustic, but they have great melodies and harmonies and their first 3 albums are available for free here. I got their most recent album to review and it is amazing, so I highly recommend them.

That is one of the best things about Switchfoot - their amazing lyrics.
List of my fave Switchfoot Songs:
Yesterday (that's my top, definitely)
Always
Sing it Out
Awakening
The Shadow Proves the Sunshine
24
The Blues
On Fire
As you can tell, I mostly like the quiet one's, though sometimes I'm in the mood for the more rocky one's

Yes! I love all of his music! I was trying to reason with a friend the other day, who said that she thought they were empty and boring and annoying. They're not! They do take some getting used to (when I first heard Fireflies I DID not like it. ), but the lyrics are genius, all the music is beautiful, and nothings better on a sunny day!
Which reminds me - we were also talking about how some people listen to music that suits their mood (that's definitely me) and some people listen to music to create their mood. "I need to be happy right now, listen to happy music" vs "I feel happy right now, I want to listen to happy music". Any thoughts about that? Is it mostly males who do the former?

Dirty Second Hands
Burn out Bright
Hello Hurricane
Bullet Soul
(there's more but I'm not by a track listing of all of their songs so this is just out of memory)

I have no idea what goes on in guys heads, but I know that I do both of those... my top 5 favorite bands actually change from week (sometimes day, hour, etc...) to week depending on my mood.... like today the top 5 artists are House of Heroes, Switchfoot, Skillet, Goo Goo Dolls, and FM Static... they usually just shuffle around and normally Relient K takes GGD's place And Family Force 5 is my exercise music
