Lark: Lady Antebellum won Record of the year and single of the year, not album of the year. I too wondered what the difference between record and album was, so I looked it up. Record of the year goes to a single track. The more pertinent question is what is the difference between record of the year and single of the year. :)

The National? Very hip of you. ;)

I like Sleeping at Last a lot, but they're music still sounds kind of all the same to me. I don't feel like I need more of their music because I feel like I get the same enjoyment out of their old music.

I'm pretty sure the difference is that Record of the Year goes to the songwriters (which, this year, was Lady A and one other person, I think) and Song of the Year goes to the artist that performed it.

I've never really cared for the Grammy's mostly because they typically celebrate what is popular right now (with some odd exceptions--Esperanza Spalding anyone?), but popularity doesn't always equal something that is good or original.

I've been listening to a lot of Andy Gullahorn lately. He tours as part of Andrew Peterson's band a lot, but has a really great voice on his own. My favorites are "In My Bones," "Sins of the Father," and "I Haven't Either."

I am kind of "old school" when it comes to music. Two of my favorite groups are Fleetwood Mac and Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers. I also love Katy Perry and Shinedown. :D

Ben's leaving Skillet?? Aw man. :( That's sad....

About the Grammys: I didn't watch them. I was kinda disappointed Lecrae didn't win anything. But not really surprised. I'm sure they're biased against him because he's so awesome. ;)

Grammy's: seems mostly like a popularity contest, but I'm still very happy that switchfoot won m/ ... I kinda liked that song by Mumford & Sons, so I was surprised to see them when i was watching and was hoping that they'd win... by the way, who's esperanza spalding anyways? I've never heard of her...

Skillet: Does anyone know what they're going to do/if they have someone to play in Ben's spot yet? cuz they still have tour dates up for the summer... and when does he 'say goodbye'? ;)

Libby, what song's your favorite on Crazy Love so far? The punk rocker in me loves 'tally-ho' and 'fraud' ...'thanks for the beautiful memories' makes me feel very nostalgic

lucy85, i like 'old school' stuff once in a while too! fleetwood mac is cool... i always like to listen to eric clapton's 'layla' for that lovely piano solo :)

Oh yes that piano solo is lovely! My step-dad is a big fan of that part.

Yeah, Esperanza Spalding? No idea who she is, but I'm very happy that the Grammy's are branching out from their usual popularity contest.

I got the new Eisley album this weekend and I have very mixed feelings about it. In many ways, it's great, though I regret being so spoiled for it. "The Valley" and "Ambulance" are still 2 of the best songs, if not the best, so it feels weird to already know the best songs and they don't really feel like part of the album since I'm so well acquainted with them. The songs are all lovely and very accessible, but I'm disappointed in a lot of the lyrics. They are simplistic almost to a fault, often crammed in uncomfortably, and Eisley is still using their crutch, "oooh"s and "aaaah"s rather than writing actual words. They've stopped writing fairy tale lyrics almost entirely, which is not necessarily bad, but it's interesting.

I also got the brand new Jeremy Larson album and I'm not all the way through yet, but I'm a bit disappointed in it so far. Larson is not the strongest singer ever and so far the melodies are very weak, which make his songs uncompelling. Larson is a magnificent composer, so right now I'm just hearing a bunch of weak songs set over ornate and possibly over the top orchestral arrangements. :(

My favourite band at the moment is deffinatly Stornoway :)
I discovered them on Spotify and their songs are really lovely- kind of a mix between folk and indie.
I also loveee Ellie Goulding and her original style, as well as Olly Murs who is undoubtably very cool ;)
Anyone like a folk singer called Colbie Caillat? x
