oh my word I am freaking out! Skillet is going to be coming on their next tour this fall to the same venue that came to last fall when I saw them with Hawk Nelson! I SO hope that I can go this time! I am so happy about this!

One of my friends posted this link, and I thought I'd share it with you guys-
http://www.comeandlive.com/downloads
There are tons of free Christian albums there that you all might enjoy checking out. I just downloaded a bunch based on samples I heard, but I still need to listen, so I'll come back with specific recs later.
*peeks into the music thread*
Hello, everyone! So, today I checked out Mae for the first time and I've discovered that I really like them. I particularly love Suspension, but everything I've heard off their purevolume I like. Are there any other songs I should especially listen to? And if I were to get an album of theirs at some point in time, which one would you guys recommend?
Awesome!
Well, The Everglow is their best album hands down. It is one of the greatest albums ever. I think at least a couple of us in here agree on this. So, you can't go wrong with that. As far as specific songs by Mae, I'd check out:
We're So Far Away
The Everglow
Just Let Go
Someone Else's Arms
The Ocean
A Melody, the Memory
Seasons (if you can endure 14 minutes of nothing but piano)
edit: States has just mentioned a release date for their 6-song EP! It comes out October 12th. I'm really excited to hear it!
Also, as for the link I posted at the beginning of this post, I recommend the Lovelite album (and the remixes). Their singer reminds me a bit of Eisley. Both Ascend The Hill albums are really good too.
All right, one more week for y'all to recommend me some good Christian albums.
Since last time, I have bought the following albums:
Thanks to Lark for reminding me about Underoath, particularly "They're Only Chasing Safety". I've been meaning to check out that one, so I went ahead and got it.
I've had something of an interest in girl-group Point of Grace, so I got "Life, Love, and Other Mysteries", an old album of theirs I've heard before.
I finished things off with Fireflight's "The Healing of Harms".
Currently planned for my next purchases:
I mentioned Jars of Clay, and it looks like "Good Monsters" it is.
I've been considering looking into dc Talk's classic "Jesus Freak" album, and that'll probably slot in next.
As for David Crowder Band, in the past I have bought assorted singles, particularly from "Illuminate" and "A Collision". I'll probably go ahead and finish up "Illuminate".
I've been considering this one for awhile, too, so: Flyleaf's eponymous album.
Also, on a "not explicitly Christian" note, I'll be looking into MuteMath's eponymous album.
Now, remember when I mentioned that a handful of Christian songs have (finally) made their way to the Rock Band video game? As part of my personal Rock Band project, the following albums will likely be a lock specifically because they contain the songs in question:
Anberlin - "New Surrender"
Hawk Nelson - "Live Life Loud"
Thousand Foot Krutch - "Welcome to the Masquerade"
Superchic[k] - "Beauty from Pain 1.1"
Switchfoot - "The Beautiful Letdown"
Other considerations from this thread:
The Classic Crime - "Albatross"
Run Kid Run - "Love at the Core"
Tenth Avenue North - If I'm not certain of which album, I'll usually go for their earliest one, which would be "Over and Underneath"
Needtobreath - "The Outsiders"
Leeland - Again, earliest one, so "Sound of Melodies"
Seabird - "Till We See The Shore"
House of Heroes - "The End Is Not The End" (and meanwhile, let me get that free EP...)
Meanwhile... what is this "Deas Vail" everyone keeps talking about and which of their albums should I get?
Oh, and go ahead and recommend any other Christian music albums, too!
"A Series of Miracles", a blog about faith and anime.

Haha, this "Deas Vail" is only one of the most amazing bands ever to exist. If you want to find out what it is we love so much about them, just read some of the posts in this thread. But yes, you should get Birds & Cages. All The Houses Look The Same is great too, and so is their EP, and their two singles. So honestly you can't go wrong!
If you're considering buying New Surrender by Anberlin, I suggest you reconsider and either purchase Cities or their newest album, Dark is the way, Light is a place (unless you already have those, in which case nevermind!)!
Ok, some Christian album recs from moi....
Monster Monster or Souther Weather by The Almost - these guys are great, just discovered them a few months ago and they're definitely one of my favorite bands now. Monster Monster has some amazing lyrics but Southern Weather is awesome too. A lot of people debate over which is better so I'd just listen to both on myspace or something and decide from that.
Of Men And Angels by The Rocket Summer - again, the lyrics on this album are fantastic, and Bryce Avary is quite impressive as he plays every single instrument on his records. I'm rec'ing this album in particular because the lyrics are much more spiritual than Do You Feel, but DYF is a great album as well. Anyway, he's definitely worth giving a listen.
Perceptions by This Beautiful Republic - I haven't really listened to this much lately but I think it's a solid rock album with solid lyrics.
Fight The Tide by Sanctus Real - probably my favorite SR album... their newest and Face of Love are great as well.
Danyew EP by Danyew - This 6-song EP is really quite wonderful... I love Phil Danyew's voice, and the way he combines subtle electronic elements with satisfying pop/rock is beautiful and comes across quite elegantly.
Captiva by Falling Up - sort of weirder and more experimental than the previous albums I listed, but I really enjoy it. it's refreshing.
I love love Tenth Avenue North, and guess what?! Just one week, and I'm going to their concert!! I'm very excited about that!!!
I'm really starting to like Sanctus Real and Relient K, too. For my birthday I got 5 score and Seven years ago, and I'm loving it all!!

I'm really obsessed with Puzzles & Pieces right now! It gets stuck in my head all the time! What a goregous song...
A few weeks ago, I finally got some songs from The Almost, & I love it! Hands is so catchy, & Hand Grenade is goregous! So is Monster, Monster. I didn't think that I would like Aaron's voice, but he's really good! I have no idea how to describe it, so I guess I won't even try! But the songs I like most from them right now are Hands, Summer Summer, Hand Grenade, Monster Monster, & Amazing Because It is.
I also got Anberlin's Dark is a way, Light is a Place. Let's just say I'm a big fan now! I just LOVE this CD! The lyrics are so deep & solid, & muscially it's catchy has lots of energy. My favorites are: Impossible, Take Me (As You Found Me) You Belong Here, Pray Tell, & Down. I listened to the whole thing this morning, & it was a good start to my day!
A couple months ago, my family & I heard this song on the radio that was really cute & catchy, & so we figured out who it was & bought the cd. It's called Wake Me by Tal & Acacia. Their music is Christian & has a 60's-ish/ swing sound. You can listen to some of it on their myspace. I'm totally obsessed with them right now! They have such a unique sound.

New albums I've gotten since I've been here last...
"Dark is the Way, Light is a Place"-Anberlin
"The Daylights"-The Daylights
"The End is Not the End"-House of Heroes
"Are We All Forgotten" EP-Paper Route
All of Jon Foreman's EPs: "Fall", "Winter", "Spring" and "Summer"
Hmm...I feel like I'm forgetting one or two,but oh,well. That list is long enough.
I've also been really enjoying The Narrative's music a lot lately. I bought three of their songs on iTunes("Fade","Trains",and "Don't Want to Fall"),but I have yet to complete that album. Suzie's voice is amazing.
I'd like to highly recommened The Daylights' album to you all. They're an extremely talented band, and I'm throughly enjoying it.
And I'm VERY excited because this Friday,I'll be going to see Switchfoot and The Almost at Liberty University! And I'll be going as a Friend of the Foot too! It's an early sweet sixteen present.
^I was just gonna look The Daylights up! What do they sound like? Are there any songs that you recommend?
That's SO COOL that you get to see Switchfoot AND The Almost! You'll have to take tons of pictures! Have fun!

Whoops! I meant to give reasons with my recommendation of The Daylights, but for some reason it didn't post...
Anyways, their sound is rock/alt. rock. They remind me of a lot of older and modern bands that I enjoy. You can read a full review at thealbumproject.net here.
Right now,I'm really enjoying "Black Dove", "Alive","Weapons","Outsider","Terra Firma", "Quick Fix" and "Guess I Miss(ed) You".
Aw,thanks! I definetly will!
Pendragon, I'm listening to Tal and Acacia per your recommendation. They have some really good lyrics. Kind of like a hybrid of 60's rock, Tegan and Sara, and Eisley. Interesting. Thanks for sharing.

Jeremy Larson was giving away his album "Salvation Club" for free (he might still be if anyone's interested) and I've been listening to that a lot. I love his music, but it is very melancholy. At times I feel like I'm choosing between listening to music I love and being happy. I was listening to "Self Esteem" the other night, driving with the window down. The combination of the song with the huge moon made me want to cry for the beauty.
oh wow! Hawk Nelson just released their new single "Crazy Love" and here's the link:

it's so amazing! I love it! the lyrics are awesome!

Kate: Sounds really interesting! I'll try to check that music out. It didn't seem like he was giving it away free anymore though..
Edit: Oh, I searched Jeremy Larson on YouTube and it came up with "Stars" (I think) music video by a band called Stella Stagecoach that I listen to. But my bro is blaring some Lecrae right now, so I can't listen to J.L. yet.
I'm really liking Lecrae's newest release, Rehab! So far my favorites are:
"God Is Enough" and
"I Love You"
But I haven't gotten it on my ipod yet, so the listens have been limited...
