Lark, hehe, Stryper. I can't say that I really like any of their music.
I'm glad you still got to listen to a lot of good music even without your iPod! I would have been so excited if I saw someone wearing a Relient K shirt. The only time I've seen anybody wear one was at the RK concert I went to.
I liked the Stryper song well enough, but I think I like Def Leppard better. My friend is obsessed with '80s music, and I've been trying to get her into Relient K,but she keeps forgetting to look up my suggestions.
Ah,yes, but I'm SOOO happy to have my iPod back.
Btw,I love love LOVE that Underoath song!
I'm really liking the song "Garden" by Needtobreathe lately. The chorus is really beautiful.
A girl from church let me borrow two of her cds. One is the Beach Boys Greatest Hits, and the other is "Wonder of the World" by Rush of Fools. I like the last one well enough, but I haven't given it a really good listen-to yet. I've barely listened to the first one.
Oh,and I just found out that Bo Rineheart from Needtobreathe went to Clemson! A lot of my staffer friends from camp go there.
Ooh, nice piano cover of Awake and Alive. I have sheet music for the violin part...
Well, I got a thingy in the mail for "Lifelight" in SD... Looks like they won't have any bands I'm that interested in this year... At least, not that were listed there. MercyMe would be ok... Last year they had Kutless, Superchick, TAN I think, and maybe a few others... I wasn't able to go , but I heard Kutless was awesome. I wouldn't mind seeing them in concert...

I borrowed Nelly Furtado's recent(ish) CD - Mi Plan from my local library. It's quite good. Latin, pop, rock. The CD cover has a warning about moderate impact coarse language but I didn't notice anything because the whole thing's in Spanish and I don't know anything beyond 'amigo!'

"Impossible" is now available for full listen accompanied by a music video. As far as I can tell, this is the only way to see it for now. Warning: the video is super weird. Don't expect a lot from it. It makes absolutely no sense. The song, on the other hand, is incredible. As a full song, it sounds totally awesome. I've listened to it over and over. The slow melody somehow manages to keep your attention and Stephen's vocals are at their peak here, the tension in his voice during the chorus is the reason that you don't walk away.
w4J: Don't you have a hard time not knowing what the songs are about though? I don't like listening to music in languages I can't understand because the lyrics are one of my favorite parts about music.
W4J: . I probably wouldn't know either since all the Spanish I know is from my mom speaking it at the house and, erm, she doesn't use spanish cursing .
Lark: aww too bad about it not being HH . That would have been so awesome .
I'm so bummed. I got another email saying my CDs haven't shipped yet...like a month after I ordered them! I would cancel the order but I got NRT points for shopping from there and I would have to refund those points, but I already used them .
edit: I listened to that song finally Kat and I loved it . Spencer's screaming isn't that bad actually, kind of like in RK's "I So Hate Consequences" where there's screaming in the background in parts. It's not that I dislike screaming really, but I saw one of Underoath's videos and it really creeped me out . But anyway, that song was good .
Kate, yes and no. I don't understand the lyrics but you can get the general feel of what they're talking about. Mi Plan was about the many different types of love. I enjoy listening to some foreign language bands because they seem to have a bit more class, beauty or interest than many English-speaking bands. Also, you can concentrate on the feel of the music, rather than the lyrics. I very listen to complete albums done in another language though. Usually the foreign bands I listen to sing in English and have one or two songs in their own native language and maybe the chorus of a song here or there.

I'm so happy you guys (Lark and Ali) like the Underoath song. Ali, I was actually thinking about I So Hate Consequences and I was going to mention that the screaming was about as much as that. So I figured you wouldn't mind it. They're Only Chasing Safety is such a weird album. There are unbelievably soaring and melodic choruses followed by in-your-face screaming and then peaceful outros. It's strange because I don't like screaming much, but I look forward to Aaron's clean vocals so much that I can manage to get through the screaming so I can hear Aaron.
I LOVE Impossible. The video is super strange though. I don't exactly see how it relates to the song.

Kings and Queens by 30 Seconds To Mars is so beautiful even if I'm not sure I understand the philosophy...
This is your start/This is your heart/This is the place you were born
This is your sun/These are your lungs/This is the place you were born
And I am always, always, always/Yours

I just got back from camp, and a lot of the music we sing for praise & worship there is by Hillsong and David Crowder Band.
David Crowder Band has some great worship songs! I also love their song "Oh, Happiness" (it's currently the song I always get stuck in my head ) Aw, that would've been awesome to meet HelloHurricane!
I'm so bummed. I got another email saying my CDs haven't shipped yet...like a month after I ordered them!
I hate it when that happens, I hope they come soon! Oh, and have you ever heard of the band The Letter Black? They're a little like Flyleaf, so I wasn't sure if you knew about them or not (I don't think they're really well known).
That's a really pretty song Hathaway! I don't really get it either, but the music's pretty
I feel really bad for this kind of random paragraph...I really need to come in here more often First off, I got RED's "Innocence and Instinct" a month or two ago, and I think it's awesome! My favorite songs are
Ordinary World (I think if they took out the first verse it could work pretty well for a Dawn Treader Credit song), Death of Me, Shadows, and Fight Inside. I really love how they add in violins and other instruments in a lot of their songs. My friend also introduced me to Thousand Foot Krutch. I don't have any CDs yet, but I got a free Amazon song, and I've been listening to some of their songs on YouTube and they sound really great I especially like "Falls Apart". I also got Switchfoot's "Nothing Is Sound". It's a great album, but Oh!Gravity's still my favorite. Stars, Lonely Nation, Politicians, The Setting Sun and Happy is a Yuppie Word are my favorite songs. I'm also really hoping to get one of Seabird's albums soon, I've been listening to "Rescue" a lot on YouTube
Is anyone excited for the Newsboy's CD coming out soon?

Any House of Heroes fans? I've been listening to their CD Suburba that comes out August 3 and it is incredible. They have this raw, American rock sound that is almost irresistible. It's somewhat melodramatic. Their music is so complex and frantic and their music is about... a guy cleaning pools who's in love with a girl. I didn't like the songs when I heard the singles, but all together, it's amazing.
greenleaf: "Ordinary World" is by far my favorite song off of that album. Good taste! I would recommend getting 'Til We See The Shore over Rocks into Rivers if you're only getting one Seabird album. RIR is good, but it doesn't compare to their debut. It was a bit of a sophomore slump to be honest.
W4J: I've really never been into listening to non-English music, but that's really cool. There is definitely something different to be gleaned from music made from outside your cultural context. Even listening to music from American southerners or English bands is different for me.
ok, so I'm not a Relient K fan but I found this video
enjoy!

Kat: haha yeah the Underoath songs I've listened to I only did b/c of Aaron, and he was the only reason I kept on listening once Spencer came on .
Hathaway: I've heard that song everywhere! It's so beautiful but I have no idea what the heck it's about .
greenleaf23: yeah I've heard of The Letter Black, and the songs I've heard are pretty awesome. I really need to listen to more of them .
Kate: I haven't heard a ton of House of Heroes but I do like them .
Libby: awesome vids
Well I got one of the CDs I ordered- The First Three Gears . I got it and the keychain and air refreshener, still waiting for the license plate, though, and Cities, Captiva, and Southern Weather.
greenleaf23: I LOVE the song "Ordinary World"! have you seen the music video?

Sky Sailing's CD comes out exclusively on iTunes today! I'm dying to get it but I don't have money and I want the physical copy anyways . But one of the songs on it, A Little Opera Goes a Long Way, is being offered for free as a Discovery Download on iTunes! Click! Plus Tennis Elbow is still free if you sign up for his email list
Has anyone heard any Unwed Sailor? Adam Young said they were pretty awesome and I've heard them talked of in a positive manner . Are they any good?
Well, it's been some time I've been on this thread, haven't had much to say.
About Skillet's latest CD. I had originally said that I only enjoyed Hero, a song I like a lot, but not my favorite of theirs. Late last year I decided to try Monster and I enjoy it a lot as well.
I just bought a third song off the album which I've heard twice on the radio now and think is great. So far the best I've heard on the CD: Awake and Alive.
I might have to check the rest of the songs again. The Cd obviously isn't as "bad" as I thought it was.
