Yikes, the first shot of Matt Thiessen in that interview kinda scared me. I was not expecting the long hair. :p

I listened to RelientK's 2 Christmas albums in the last week. ;)) I like them. :p

^ No worries... he just got it cut. A lot. :P If you're curious, just check out his twitter or facebook pictures.

I am really getting into The Almost right now. Aaron's voice is a little bit too nasal, but I still really like what he does with The Almost, and I love their sound. I heard that he's going to start recording a solo worship project sometime in June, so I'm looking forward to that!

The Almost is good. I really enjoyed their first album, but I've barely listened to the more recent one. I'm glad Aaron left Underoath so he can concentrate more on this project. (Can you tell I don't really like Underoath? ;) )

Well, ladies and gentlemen, it's summer. Summer seems to have always been a time when music seems to come more alive. For me, it's the only time I have access to a car, so I music feels more kinetic--it happens when I'm going places. What kinds of music will you be listening to this summer? What kind of music does summer make you think of?

For me, summer albums have been Capital Lights' one and only offering and The Beach Boys. The Beatles wouldn't be a bad summer album either. I also got a cassette tape (yes, you read that right) of some All the Day Holiday instrumental tracks that I can listen to in my mom's car (that doesn't have any CD or iPod capabilities). I'll be listening to all of those.
I also made myself a playlist of a bunch of smooth melodic alt rock to listen to. It's basically the same music I always listen to, but they sound different during summer. :) There's a lot of awesome newer music in it that I'm excited about (I can't recommend The Drive Back highly enough.)

In music news, Anberlin is set to release LP number 5 September 21. Get ready.

I can't believe you guys don't like Matt's long hair X( [-( =; :(( ! It was the best hair on planet earth while it lasted :(( . I miss it so much :( .

Kat: NASAL?!?! :| I love his voice. And his hair.

Kate: lol I'm kinda glad Aaron left Underoath too, I wasn't a huge fan ;)) . Alot of people are upset though, especially b/c he was the last original member.

I totally know what you mean about music sounding different in the summer. I've been listening to alot more of it too, though I didn't think that was possible ;) .

Ooh I'm excited about Anberlin's new LP!!! I need to hear more of their stuff ;))

Ali, I do like Aaron's voice, don't get me wrong. I'm obsessed with pretty much everything he's done musically right now. :P But he's just not my favorite singer ever. Wes still has that spot. ;) Aaron's voice works very well for the style of music he plays... its timbre is very apt for the "emo"/alternative rock genre.
And his hair is awesome. As long as he doesn't do the dreadlock thing like Spencer Chamberlain did. :p
Anyway.

Does the Anberlin LP have a name yet?

I'm not sure what I'll be listening to this summer. Probably Owl City and Five Score and Seven Years Ago to take me back to last summer ;)) Last July I listened to Fireflies constantly after Kate told me to get it as the free single of the week on iTunes.

Yes. But we don't know what it is. Supposedly, it is somewhere in the Collected Works of Dylan Thomas and starts with a "D." They also already shot a video for the first single.

Last summer I listened to Viva La Vida or Death and all his Friends non stop. I'm so tired of it that I definitely won't be pulling that one out again.

Kat: I see...about his voice. Wes's voice is beautiful but I can't say it's my favorite. I don't quite have a favorite. I adore his voice, but I also love Matty's, Jon's, Josh Groban's and Bryce's voices too :p . Matty's is probably my favorite though. I love the way he sings ;)) .

hey, dreads can look pretty cool :p .

Mae, Anberlin, The Almost, and Relient K, very nice! I hope you can go Ali!

Oh, okay, Kate. Thanks. Haha, I just looked through a list of his works starting with D, and I could see a couple of those being cool album names. :P I'm intrigued to find out what it is!
I still need to listen to Viva La Vida on Coldplay's myspace or something... I feel like I'm really out of it if I don't. ;)) For some reason Coldplay doesn't exactly click with me though, so I've never had the huge desire to get around to it.

I hope I can go too :p . I need to finish one of my school books by the end of July though, in order to go, and I'm not even a third of the way through it :-s . But I'm gonna try!

I tried to listen to Viva La Vida once but I thought it was boring and didn't finish. I've actually tried a few times :p .
