It's like this effect where there are really short breaks between the vocals. Listen to Everything's a Miracle and you'll see what I mean. He uses that effect a lot throughout it.

Anyone here the new Group 1 Crew single?
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nmAZ5-d3m94

I bought it, like the sound of it. But I must admit I am mixed about it. Not sure if I really like it or not. It sounds more... secular? not sure that's the right word but hopefully you all understand what I mean. :|

*not that secular music is bad, not all of it at least . I like some, but overall don't prefer it. But when it comes to Christian artists I like a clear distinction, a line G1C has gotten close to before.

Kat: ok yeah I see. Oh well it's a tad annoying but it's kinda cool too ;))

narnian1: haven't listened to it yet. I'm not a huge fan of them b/c of that blurred line...and their music videos.

narnia1: I like Group 1 Crew's music, but their music videos are really secular looking and, like, wow. I didn't like what I saw.....

yeah it's too bad b/c they're really good at making good music. I just wish their lyrics could be clearer and their music videos not so flashy and showy. It's a little dissapointing.

Could those of you who disliked their music videos elaborate on why you didn't like them? I watched two and I thought they were fine. I loved how they gave face to the different worship styles of different ethnic groups. Latino and Black Christian communities tend to worship God in dance as well as song, and I enjoyed that aspect of their videos.

Kat: That production style hurts my ears. I'm not really that big a fan of Swimming with Dolphins, and especially Port Blue because of that style.

Ok well I like Forgive Me. That music video is good. I think Love Is a Beautiful Thing is just a little wierd...But really it's Movin' I don't like. I don't appreciate the dance moves and just the way Blanca carries herself, at least in that video, isn't very modest. I don't know, I just think they're too flashy and showy sometimes. Some of their songs are good but I don't think I would go to a concert of theirs or something.

I didn't mind breakdown--but I heard it as more background music and didn't hear the lyrics so much. But I liked it fine..

Kate: Port Blue? I thought Port Blue actually didn't do that as much as Swimming With Dolphins... much of it is piano-based ambient stuff, and as far as I remember not many of the tracks used that annoying style. I guess a few of them do, but it's nowhere near as obnoxious as SWD, since it's not with any vocals. I find Port Blue quite relaxing and listen to it sometimes when I'm doing homework ;)

I just got an email from Kyle Griner who manages Anberlin and he told me how beautiful he thought my cover of Cable Car was. Needless to say I was really excited!

Yesterday,I bought Switchfoot's album "Oh!Gravity." Love it. I've really been getting into their music a lot lately.

I also found a really great recording of their unreleased single "Vice Verses":

Also Kevin McNeese (who started NRT.com) talked to Bryce Avary about the song Walls. Here's what he said
