Kat:Thank you soooo much! Dave and Rachel have really incredible voices. I wish I knew who the other members of the band are...
Queen Susan: I knew! I think it actually a band of two guys called "Ruth". But the guy from Ruth in "Rebuild" is named Dustin. Jon Foreman and Matt Thiessen wrote the song for the "Appetite for Construction" tour back in...'07. I really wish SF and RK and Deas Vail would tour together.
Last night I listened to Bach,Chopin,Switchfoot and Relient K. It was funny because I had it set to shuffle and after I finished listening to one of Chopin's Nocturnes,it played "Stars".
Imogen Heap is coming to Norfolk. And I can't go because it's so far away.
narnian1: I have Audrey's Firefly EP. I saw her live w/ TAN in September. Her voice is very beautiful. Her song "Known" is probably my favorite.
I'll have to look those up,
iTunes and Amazon don't seem to have them. At least I didn't see them there.
QS: Yeah, I love Rebuild! Which reminds me that I should really listen to more Ruth. Great guys.
Interesting mix, Lark. I usually don't mix genres like that when I'm listening, but if I ever put my iTunes library on shuffle, that happens quite a bit
I bought Firefly because she was selling them at the concert, narnian1. I don't really think that you can get it online She didn't even have official album art for it. She made little sleeves for the CDs using paper bags and colorful pens with a pretty design. Looots of work for her!
I've been listening to tons of Relient K lately. Over the past couple months I had stopped listening to them much because I was getting into so many new bands. But I'm really in love with them all over again. *happy sigh*
I love the 2 Kingsfoil songs from noisetrade, Kate. The chorus in Demons is insanely catchy. The whole "move it like you wanna get your demons out" line is especially awesome, and the vocals are really impressive.
Just had to come in here and say that...
We got Tenth Avenue North's new album today!! My sister pre-ordered it for my mom and it arrived tooday! Hallelujah!

So I've had Jon Foreman's EPs for a while but I've never listened to them so I listened to a few songs today and they're quite good. I'm happy .
Ali, thanks so much for the link to the audio blogs & acoustic songs. I enjoyed them.
You're welcome
Really? I thought the opposite. Which ones are you think of, apart from the last two tracks, and Any Other Way?
I bought The Truth is Who You Are as a single last week, so I think it is.
I don't know, I think it was just the feel of the whole CD. Maybe they weren't soft songs but I felt they could have had more energy or passion. More drive behind them. But again I've only listened to it a few times and I thought the same thing of their first CD when I first heard it.
I haven't heard anything of Paramore apart from "Decode". (Twilight-obsessed friends ) What would you recommend?
I know Kat already put up a list but here are the songs I like
Ignorance
Careful (except for that one line that I posted)
Brick by Boring Brick
Playing God
Turn it Off
For a Pessmist I'm Pretty Optimistic
Hallelujah
When it Rains
We Are Broken
Born for This
Pressure
this is off the top of my head so I may have forgotten some. But I wouldn't listen to Crushcrushcrush. I really like the tune of that one but the lyrics aren't so good. *edit*Actually I was told by a mod to remove them from this post so yeah. If you want to see what I mean just google them. It's more especially the bridge and the chorus.*edit*
also, That's What You Get is ok I guess but I wouldn't reccomend watching the music video. It's not the greatest. Or the song really either.
Ali:If you aren't musically impressed, aren't you at least lyrically impressed?
yes their lyrics are great like always, I just wish their music had a little more drive. But after all, I guess, they're not a rock band .
My initial impression of The Light Meets The Dark was that overall it is a lot softer, too, Ali. With Over and Underneath I think there are more pop-rock songs, and not so many soft rock ones. I still haven't had time to give TLMTD a really good listen though.
ditto
And yeah, Move to the Other Side of the Block is the one I thought your location referred to. Haha! 40 years! He's not even 40
lol I know! He's so funny
thanks for the link! Have you heard that song yet though? I've always been wary of it b/c of the, ahem, title .
So I just read:
Jeremy Camp has a new CD coming out later this year, Aug 24.
A worship-themed album titled We Cry Out - The Worship Project.
this is cool:
Third Day, Tobymac, Max LUcado, and Michael W. Smith are going on tour!

Kingsfoil has made one song off their upcoming album free on NoiseTrade. It comes with a boring b-side. I'm somewhat disappointed because it seemed like they were releasing the whole thing free. But I guess not. So now there's still no album art, no release date, and my review is just hanging out on the site all incomplete.
The band Lydia announced that they are breaking up after this album. It's too bad because they're really pretty excellent, but I won't cry. I never really had an emotional connection with them.
There was a rumor that all of Mae was getting back together, but I haven't heard anything since. Hmmmm... It would be awesome if they got Rob the piano man back.
Deas Vail announced an East Coast/sort of Midwest summer tour, so check that out if it's in your area.
Libby: lol you would have known about that 2 months ago if you went on NRT .
Kate: I got that song but too bad it's not the whole album .
Ooh that's cool about Mae! Is Rob the bald guy? He's not a part of the band?! Can you tell I don't know much about them .
Deas Vail WHAT?!?!?! I'm SOOOO going!!! This just made my day week!
GTG: I can only be on so many forums! I found out about it on Facebook!
I think that is a cool tour! the annoying part is that they aren't coming anywhere near me!

Bands I've recently gotten into:
These two bands have similar styles and moods.
Fair: Laid back, slightly emo acoustic pop. Soothing and relaxing, but they sort of blend into all the other indy pop bands out there.
Sherwood: This is indy pop done right. Lush, sunny, and singable with delicious bass tones and organic wounding beats. One of my new favorite bands.
Welcome back to the thread kibitz! I also really enjoy both of those bands. A few of us members are rather fond of Fair. I liked their first album and it was so nice to get their follow-up this year after about 4 years. Aaron Sprinkle is a genius in everything music related.
Sherwood is actually a local band; they all went to my university. I saw them in concert last month with Seabird and then they did a free show at my school just two weeks ago. They're lots of fun live. I don't really listen to them because I don't really enjoy that kind of pop all that much, but I respect their talent and have enjoyed my opportunities to see them live. Good taste!
Libby: haha I know .
Kibitz: Fair is pretty cool, but I don't know if I've heard any Sherwood yet...
Got my copy of Do You Feel today in the mail!
I'm listening to (A)fternoon on Mae's myspace right now and I'm really not very impressed. (Yeah, it took me a while to get around to this!) I've only listened to the first three tracks, but I was expecting them all to be better I guess. Maybe some of the later ones will stand out... I'm kind of disappointed right now though.
That's really sad about Kingsfoil Kate! Maybe they'll put the whole album up on noisetrade later, just not yet?
Ahh! Various people in this thread are continually reminding me that I need to listen to Disappearing World. I keep forgetting. I should really write this down or something haha.
I feel like I'm falling more and more in love with MuteMath every day. Typical is such a good song. I love the almost haunting quality of No Response. Sadly, the lyrics are a little disappointing ("tell me what is wrong and right, I don't suppose anybody knows")...
^wow those lyrics are NOT good .
I LOVE Do You Feel! I was very happy when listening to it b/c I knew how the drum beat was going to go without having listened to it before . I SO need to learn to play drums .
