Queen Susan: Woah! That's amazing!(sorry,I missed your post earlier) So he knows Jon Foreman?
Not sure about that... But at Jon Foreman at least knows about him... Not sure if they know each other though.

Lark: Thanks for the email. I got the song! It's pretty good. Have you gotten their free remix from Satellite Songs on CD Baby?
I have yet to listen to The Light Meets The Dark enough times to be able to give a very clear assessment of it. I've only listened to it twice. But I have a feeling it'll be one of those growers for me. Already having heard the three singles months before the albums was released (I actually heard You Are More and Strong Enough To Save back in September), those songs stick out at the beginning and the album feels incohesive, but that's not their fault. As far as "stand out" tracks go, All The Pretty Things is definitely a catchier one. K-Love actually played The Truth Is Who You Are yesterday; I'm wondering if that was just a thing because they were being interviewed, or if it's yet another single? At any rate, I'm glad the new songs are getting a lot of exposure.
I just bought On and One, and Strong Enough to Save, making it 4 songs off TAN's new CD.
You Are More and Healing Begins are the other two, one I bought last week and the other months ago.
Great songs.
So my long, eagerly and anxiously awaited copy of The Light Meets the Dark was waiting for me when I got home from work! I'd been counting the hours all day long so that I could get home and listen to it. After my hurried dinner was over, I stole into my empty brother's room with the stereo system, lay on the bed, and just listened.
I love it! But of course. I'm not sure how much I love it yet, and I think that will have to be determined after I've listened to it quite a bit more.
It's interesting, some of the songs humbled me so much. Almost made me uncomfortable, the truth hit home so hard? That's what I love about TAN. Every one of their songs came home to me in some way.
I loved You Are More, Any Other Way and House of Mirrors a lot. And I haven't seen any opinions on it here yet, but I actually think Oh My Dear is my favorite. I just lay there sobbing as I listened to it. It touched me so deeply! I think it's truly beautiful.
TLMD seems so much longer than OaU, but maybe that's just because I'm less familiar with it. Anyway, I can't wait to get to know and love it! I'm really happy with it after the first listen.
^awesome!
narnian1: you should buy All the Pretty Things
Queen Susan: that's pretty cool
Ali:You could sell the shirt on ebay. Glad you like "All the Pretty Things",I've listened to that song so much. I love the whole album but that song is really exceptional.
well I have to say I'm with Kat right now. I don't love the album yet. I love some songs on it but some just seem to run in to each other and sound the same. Plus it seems like they didn't give some of the songs enough "oomf". Like I kinda wish All the Pretty Things was more guitar driven. And alot of the songs were really soft and quiet. Now I love soft songs but it seemed like there were alot on this album. This album is definitely a grower. I'm not going to write a review for my blog yet b/c if I do I'm going to make it sound like it's a bad CD .
Ali: I took some pics, but most of them turned out really bad. My camera can't zoom far.
And.. your new location has something to do with that TRS song?
aww too bad
not Story, if that's what you're thinking . Move to the Other Side of the Block . I really like Story though, I can't believe you don't! There was this one guy at the concert who kept on yelling for Bryce to play it but Bryce was like "I haven't played that song in like fourty years!" . Aah, sweet memories .

ditto

I'm pretty sure it's a single. *checks iTunes* . Well it seems like they don't have it available for purchase as a single but it was listed as one of the singles for the countdown week .
Anyway, I'm SO addicited to Paramore right now. Or I should say some Paramore songs. I really wish they had more good ones. Don't you hate it when you love the tune to a song but don't like the lyrics? Feeling that way with The Only Exception. Great tune but I SO do not agree with the lyrics. I love Brick by Boring Brick and Ignorance though . I like Careful too except for this one line "the truth never set me free so I'll do it myself". Isn't she a Christian?
narnian1: you should buy All the Pretty Things
I should've seen this coming, apparently that's a favorite. I'll check it out, but no promises about buying just yet.
I just reviewed Audrey Assad in my blog:
http://perez09jose.blogspot.com/2010/05/music-audrey-assad.html
Don't know if anyone has heard of her, but she is definitely worth checking out.

Ok as long as you check it out
I've seen something about Audrey Assad on NRT but I've never actually listened to her music or anything. Maybe I will...
just bought TAN's The Truth is Who You Are, this is the one I meant to get earlier, not Strong Enough to Save. Luckily I liked the one i bought too
Nice review, Lark.
Ali, thanks so much for the link to the audio blogs & acoustic songs. I enjoyed them.
Ok, so I think I love TLMTD. I don't think I've listened to it enough, but my favourite songs are the last two, and also I can really relate to A Heart's Safe (I think that's the name).
And alot of the songs were really soft and quiet. Now I love soft songs but it seemed like there were alot on this album.
Really? I thought the opposite. Which ones are you think of, apart from the last two tracks, and Any Other Way?
I bought The Truth is Who You Are as a single last week, so I think it is.
I haven't heard anything of Paramore apart from "Decode". (Twilight-obsessed friends ) What would you recommend?
Avie by flambeau.
"I'm there through your heartache, I'm there in the storm.. I don’t care where you've fallen, where you have been, I'll never forsake you, my love never ends, it never ends."

Kat: Yay! I'm glad you like it. Have you heard "I Have a Plan"? They have a really cool acoustic version on their youtube. No,I didn't. I'll go look for it on CD Baby right now.
Hi,Destined! Nice to see you here!
It's interesting, some of the songs humbled me so much. Almost made me uncomfortable, the truth hit home so hard? That's what I love about TAN. Every one of their songs came home to me in some way.
THIS.
I think "Oh My Dear" is either Mike or Jason's favorite on the album...*checks e-mail*...it's Mike's. Jason's is "This Truth is Who You Are" and Jeff's is "Hearts Safe(A Better Way)". <----I like the guitar in this one. It's really catchy.
Ali:If you aren't musically impressed, aren't you at least lyrically impressed?
I think "Empty My Hands" is TLMTD's equivalent of OAU's "Times". And I think "All the Pretty Things"="By Your Side" and "Healing Begins"="Love is Here".
Did anyone notice how "House of Mirrors" was the only song that Scott was involved in writing, but Ruben recorded bass for it. Not that I dislike Ruben,I just think it's a little sad.
Does anyone think On and On is just amazing? I love that song so much. I can really relate to it.
Aslans Country, thank you so much! I love the feedback I'm getting from it.
And for Paramore,I haven't listened to them much lately, but I'd suggest "Brick by Boring Brick", "Ignorance" and...gah! That's all I can think of right now. Sorry.
My initial impression of The Light Meets The Dark was that overall it is a lot softer, too, Ali. With Over and Underneath I think there are more pop-rock songs, and not so many soft rock ones. I still haven't had time to give TLMTD a really good listen though.
And yeah, Move to the Other Side of the Block is the one I thought your location referred to. Haha! 40 years! He's not even 40
About Paramore, I've certainly been disappointed in their lyrics from time to time. Including that part in Careful. Actually, ever since I heard them I was kind of let down (because of Misery Business). I know Hayley apologized for her use of God's name in that song, but I'm still not a really huge fan of her. Their music is very catchy though. It's quite good for being so mainstream.
The Only Exception is actually one of my lesser-favorites on Brand New Eyes. It's kind of repetitive. But it's relaxing. I guess it's a sweet song but it shouldn't be so popular, haha.
But anyway. Some Paramore recs:
Careful
Playing God
For a Pessimist, I'm Pretty Optimistic
That's What You Get
Where The Lines Overlap
Turn It Off
Brick By Boring Brick
Pressure (possibly the only song I like from their debut album)
When It Rains
Let The Flames Begin
We Are Broken
Crushcrushcrush (I don't really like this one but a lot of people love it, so maybe you would, I dunno)
We Are Broken is definitely their most "wholesome" song lyrically.
Lark: Yeah, I like I Have A Plan! I've also heard the acoustic version, it's pretty cool.
http://www.cdbaby.com/cd/AttackCat1 < There's the link to the free download.
House of Mirrors. I love House of Mirrors. The lyrics are really cool. I did notice that about Ruben though and it made me sad as well...
narnian1: I have Audrey's Firefly EP. I saw her live w/ TAN in September. Her voice is very beautiful. Her song "Known" is probably my favorite.
TLMTD is softer? Oh my. It must be pretty soft then. *laugh* I'm sure I'll like it.
Did anyone else know that Switchfoot and RelientK (along with some other guy) kind of "did a song" named "Rebuild"? Found that out this morning...

I listened to most of TAN's new The Light Meets The Dark and I was also kind of disappointed. I thought it was good, it just didn't give me the same amount of hope for the Christian Music industry that the last one gave me. I can see how, for people who have been waiting over a year for this, it could be disappointing.
I have a few recommendations that I'm really excited about. Right now I'm in "good music overload" where I have more awesome music than I have time to listen to.
Jeremy Larson is like Copeland. He's a lot like Copeland, but he's still active, and not only is his music piano based, but it's also string based and many of his songs ride on the strains of a cello. It was love at first listen.
The Drive Back is somewhat comparable to a more upbeat and louder Copeland. All that matters is that they were awesome. The beautiful melody of "Compass & Map" was stuck in my head, but I didn't know what song it was. It was driving me crazy. Then I finally figured it out.
Hazel and Vine is a great band. They're kind of like an indie version of Sherwood. Their songs are super catchy, but are very light. "Radio Sound" is an incredibly young and fun, but musically satisfying song.
