That is terrible!! Perhaps if I win, I can take you along with me! It is a trip for two, right?

Yes, it's a trip for two, but I doubt my parents would let me go without one of them. Thank you for offering, though. :)
Would it be legal for the person who won to give away both tickets? 'Cause I was thinking about asking one of my cousins in Washington to enter.

^^ yes, I love the song "Paperthin Hymn"! I listen to it all the time I have almost memorized the music video!

There's a music video? :p I always go for lyrics videos because otherwise I can't make out what they're saying. :p

there sure is! :)
here's the link:

I love it! ;) :D

Sorry this has taken so long

^^ you've never heard TAN? you are missing out! :)
check out this video:

it's awesome!

Ah, that's a good song! I never TAN sang it *runs off to iTunes to listen to the CD preview*:P

Hehe, thanks greenleaf, but I didn't. The winner was picked before I even shot my entry. Apparently the radio station forgot to mention a deadline on their site. 8-|

That really stinks! :(

I've mainly heard their first too, only a few songs off the second one. It is kinda whispery. It's cool :p . Ooh yeah I really like those and I like Cassie and Beautiful Bride too, but Beautiful Bride is on their second CD.

Ah, I like Cassie too (it's an incredibly sad story though...) I'll have to check out their second CD on iTunes then, I love listening to their previews :P

I finally got FANSD :D So far my favorite songs are Forget and Not Slow Down, I Don't Need a Soul, Sahara, Therapy, CandleLight and If You Believe Me.

Sorry I haven't been on in a few days. I've been busy and this weekend has not been good. Music-wise at least. Not only did I miss seeing Owl City but my friends borrowed my Deas Vail CDs last month and didn't like them. One of my friends said that Wes didn't know how to write music and that he needs to work on writing tunes that sound different from each other :| . And then his younger brother said that Wes had a funny voice! I'm so dissapointed. It took my sister one day to convert them to Britt Nicole and after they borrow my CDs for one whole month they don't like Deas Vail. My friends are sad :(( . Well I leant them Of Men and Angels so hopefully they like that better. They're more of the upbeat catchy music type 8-| . Whatever. I have you guys to talk about good music with :p .

I cannot believe you just said that! :-o

well hey it's not my fault! :p

I knew RK didn't win,but how in the world did they win to Jars of Clay? I mean, who voted this year?

8-| I know. Dove stinks sometimes :| .

EDIT:Everyone,go enter CBD's contest!! Winner gets a trip for two to Tenth Avenue North's release party for The Light Meets the Dark and other awesome stuff! :D
http://www.christianbook.com/Christian/ ... nthavnlive

SO glad I follow your blog, or I wouldn't have seen this in time :p . I entered for each of my family members ;) .

I don't know, I'm not a big fan of Needtobreathe. So I wasn't too excited when I heard that they had won. I just don't like their style. I don't have anything against the band. :P

ditto, but I'm glad someone new one.

I was seriously surprised that Toby Mac didn't win artist of the year! And Casting Crowns did?? I guess they are an awesome band, but that's a bit crazy...

they are WAY too generally loved. I mean I like them alot but TMac SO deserved to win.

NO!!! Alaskans can't enter CBD contests.
If you'll excuse me, I'm going to go cry.

aww, sadness :(

It's been forever.. :P

totally :p ! Welcome back

Erm. Let's see.
I can't WAIT for The Light Meets the Dark. I've been listening to the previews, and it sounds like it's got some really good stuff. More.. variety, I guess, from Over and Underneath. Less than a month. :)

I know- can't wait! Trying to convince my parents to let me pre-order still :p

Right now I can't stop listening to Anberlin's "The Unwinding Cable Car", and I keep trying to find another song of their's that I'll like, but in vain. :p It weird. I can't find anything remotely similar in style. :-s

that's my fave song of theirs. I haven't listened to much else, but I like Paper Thin Hymn alot. I see other people reccomended that already though :p .

I finally bought Hello Hurricane, and I love it. Especially Yet and Sing it Out. Sing it Out is beautiful.

oh I LOVE Sing it Out! That CD has SO many beautiful songs. They're songs you feel/are rather than sing :)

WAAAAAHHH!!! So, my friend and I looked up touring dates for Owl City and it turns out they were like an hour away from where we live like a week ago! *smacks head* Why didn't I think to look earlier? I feel really stupid and I'm really sad... :((

that's terrible! I was bawling this Friday b/c he was a half hour away from me and I couldn't go b/c of a conference :(( . I was seriously crying all day, ask my sisters :p

Oh! It looks like I'm not the only one who's totally hyped about Tenth Avenue North's new "Light Meets The Dark" album!!! Have any of you seen the video journals behind the new songs? They've got some really amazing messages! I love how they don't just sing, but they really, really do all they can to get the message out there!

I know- they're awesome! :p

I got to see Owl City in Feb. It was an awesome show. I was lucky because it was in a college bar instead of in a stadium, but they allowed me in. :D

that's great! Bars will let you in usually if it's an all ages concert. But they tend to kick minors out soon afterwards :p

yay! at least Red won for their CD! I love that CD! it's awesome!
I am disappointed with the Dove awards winners this year! ack!

I'm pretty much always dissapointed in them :p

So after knowing a few I couldn't resist anymore. I was surprised to find the winners in a front page of anything, Why don't they just air them live like the Oscars and Globes? That'd make more sense.

yep :| . The Dove Awards can be weird/annoying :p .

It is really sad. But it's a great inspirational song. I love the acoustic version too. Lol I listen to their previews all the time ;))

oh great! THose are pretty much all my faves too, except I would have Savannah instead of If You Believe Me :p . Gosh I love that CD :p

^Right now I'm completely obsessed with Savannah & This is the End (If You Want it). I don't know what took me so long to get into those songs...

I am SO excited for the Light Meets the Dark! :D I keep listening to the previews of the songs. You can listen to a about 20 seconds of each song here: http://buy.artistservices.com/tenthaven ... 0234100381

I think my favorites are gonna be Empty My Hands, & Oh My Dear. They're so beautiful! ONLY 16 MORE DAYS! :-bd m/

I keep getting Empty My Hands stuck in my head, & I'm like "Oh, I really wanna listen to that!" I pick up my Zune, then remember... It's not out yet! :((

I just found out that my brother owns every Falling Up CD except for "Fangs" but he won't let me borrow any! :((

TP: I'm glad you like those RK songs- they're great :p . I was pretty obsessed with This is the End (If You Want It) for a long time. It's still my number one played song ;)) . But I'm kinda over it now. It's still beautiful but idk, it got old after 100+ plays :p .

^Lol! Yeah, it's beautiful, but I think you can sick of anything after hearing it 100+ times! :p

Today, I read a bunch of Mike's journals on the 10th ave site, & I just love them! I already read them, but it's been like a year. He has one called "A Plane in the Sunset" that I really like. That title is from "Let That Be Enough" by SF. I didn't know very many of their songs when i first read them, but now I'm picking up on all the quotes. It's awesome! :D I love the way he looks at Christianity, & the simplicity of just loving God cause He loves us, & not having to work for His love. It's so powerful!

WAAAAAHHH!!! So, my friend and I looked up touring dates for Owl City and it turns out they were like an hour away from where we live like a week ago! *smacks head* Why didn't I think to look earlier? I feel really stupid and I'm really sad... :((

I'm so sorry Dani! :-o Missing concerts stinks. Good to see you in this thread, though. :)

^lol yeah you can get sick of anything after listening to it so many times :p . I tend to get obsessed with songs for weeks and listen to hardly anything but that and then I get sick of them :p . Anyway, I love Mike's journals too. He's such a good role model and an amazing guy. I'd love to have the faith that he has. I'm working on it :) .

They're songs you feel/are rather than sing :)

^you put my thoughts into words. :-o :p

I am SO excited for the Light Meets the Dark! I keep listening to the previews of the songs. You can listen to a about 20 seconds of each song here: http://buy.artistservices.com/tenthaven /a> ... 0234100381

lol, I found the link to the previews ages ago, and then thought it was hilarious that on their website they're making such a big deal of letting you listen to 2 songs at a time (preview), when all the time they're on this page. :p The ones on the site are longer, but still.

I love the sound of Any Other Way, and All the Pretty Things, but then again I've forgotten the sound of the last few.

He has one called "A Plane in the Sunset" that I really like.

Really? Hmm.. I think I've only read the ones that are about each of the songs on O&U. Well, more to read now. :)

Okay, so for Anberlin, I love Unwinding Cable Car, plus the 2 songs that were recommended on her for me, but I can't get into any of the others. So I think asking for another recommendation might be a wise move. :p

Thanks, I did, and I love it now. It's not really similar to Unwinding Cable Car, but I somehow managed to like it. :p
I love the part where he sings "I thought you said forever" and then on top of that comes "over and over".

Me too. Stephen Christian has an awesome voice.
Glad you like Inevitable too! :)

So...I watched the Doves last night.

LOVED Bart's Lady Gaga joke. =)) That was genius.
TAN got ripped off. Only HALF of By Your Side? Puh-lease!
Even though I didn't think CC should've won group of the year,I did enjoy what Mark Hall said.
Brandon Heath singing "Two Hands" with JoC? Ick!!!
I really liked RED's performance. The piano in "Fight Inside" is sweet. I think I'm starting to get into their music more. :P
Oh,and it was really cool seeing Ricky Scaggs. :) I saw him at a local concert when I was really little,so that brought back memories. ^_^

....and I think that's it. I honestly wasn't very impressed at all. I didn't realize they wouldn't show all of the awards.

EDIT: I looked up the He Is We tour dates and they aren't coming close enough for me to go see them. :(

I have a song that I think you all should listen to.

It will seriously be stuck in your head all day. I'm addicted to it right now. :P

Aslans Country, do you remember what other Anberlin songs you listened to that you didn't like? It's not that you dislike their heavier songs and you prefer the mellow ones, is it?(Since you like Paperthin Hymn). Try Haight St.. It's really upbeat and fun. Burn Out Brighter (Northern Lights) are some of my favorite lyrics. Also, you might like Retrace, A Day Late, and Alexithymia. And it's a bit long, but I love (*Fin). It's pretty brilliant. It's so cool when the choir comes in.
Hopefully you'll like at least one of those ;))

Lark: Where can you watch the Doves?

Dani: Relient K isn't really that similar to Deas Vail. But if you like piano-based rock, you should really like Deas Vail. They're definitely more "indie" than Relient K (I hate using that term haha) but eh, I guess you could draw some similarities. Wes's extremely clear, flawless falsetto voice is what defines their sound for me. If you don't like it, you probably won't like DV. His voice is what makes me love them so much.

Kat: Like Libby said,GMC. :) I'm hoping some parts of it will go on youtube. I still haven't gotten over the piano at beginning of "Fight Inside"...
I LOVE that song! ^_^ Yay!

I'm probably gonna get my mommy "Hello,Love" by Chris Tomlin for Mother's Day. Or one of his other cds.

So,I'm putting off buying for me once again. :p I changed my mind from "Oh! Gravity" to "Cities" though because I don't have any Anberlin on my iPod except for the free purevolume downloads.
REALLY wanting "Oh! Gravity" though. Ahhh....
